First up, there was no WiFi. In fairness, I looked at the property description a second time, and WiFi was not advertised (even if VRBO puts a default heading on the check-in page for WiFi), so I can't really complain because it's my fault for not checking. I discussed this with the host, and she made an effort to make WiFi available, but we ran into technical difficulties and it didn't work. So, if you expect WiFi, make sure you confirm whether it's available.
Putting that aside, everything is as advertised. It's a small apartment near Flagstaff. The kitchenette is small but serviceable, there is a clothes washer and a dish washer. There is some noise from the street and from nearby construction projects (construction is everywhere in Melbourne right now), but not to any degree that bothered me. Blinds were sufficient. Bedding was adequately clean.
Only real complaint is that the water is weird in this unit. The cold water tap runs hot for about a minute before you actually get cold water.
Oh, yeah, that picture of the Queen Vic Markets in the property description? That's not just a random picture of a local attraction. That's actually the view out the window.
