The weather cut our trip short, we had to come back early to avoid driving in a snow storm! But we already know we would like to try and book here again in the future. Very welcoming and cozy, exactly what we were looking for to decompress after the holidays.

Great weekend getaway

we had a great time! Plenty of space inside, we had 8 people and slept comfortably. Lots of yard space to have a fire and play games. Owners were very nice and accommodating.

It was nice cabin, basement was remodeled, upper level needs to be remodeled especially windows and carpet. Best thing they had toys for babies, games for adults and kitchen was stock up well. Lot of beds and space for everyone. Our family enjoyed it and hope other will enjoy too and make memories out of it❤️

This was a great place to relax and be with my family. I have a daughter who has a camper at Sherwood Forest camp site and there is not enough room for all of us. We were able to be close to them and have get togethers at their place and our rental for cards and games and food

Excellent Cabin to Get Away

Overall had a great experience at Naomi or Bernie's Cabin. Their downstairs is very nice and is great for playing cards. Naomi was great at communicating and was extremely nice. The cabin is very secluded for neighbors which our group enjoyed. They have a wonderful bonfire pit and are located not too far from Twin Pines Resort. Overall, our group really enjoyed our stay here. Thanks so much Naomi and Bernie!!

Cute and spacious cabin in the woods!

This place is a lot bigger than it looks from the road. Nestled in the woods, it has several different sized beds. We were only two people so didn't use all the space, but it looked like a great place for a larger family. Everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked. They had books and videotapes available. All in all a great value!

Perfect

For the past 20 years, we have a group of 5-6 50 something guys that meet for a weekend somewhere around the Mille Lacs area at the end of January. It's really the only time we get together all year. The woodland retreat was perfect. We spent most of our time playing cards in the upper level kitchen overlooking the woods. Close to town to grab some snacks and drinks, but once settled in, there was no other reason to go anywhere. Very clean and comfortable. Two full levels with plenty of room and comfortable sleeping arrangements. Cabin had everything one could need, including coffee in the morning. Would highly recommend and will certainly be back.

We made a last minute reservation and were so pleased! We loved all the space and really enjoyed the outdoor are. The pictures don't show the new patio furniture which was really nice. Our dog was welcomed and he really enjoyed how peaceful the area is. We took our young kids to Paul Bunyan Land which was a short drive away and they really enjoyed it (they are four and six). We also did fireworks in Garrison and they were fun too. It was nice that we didn't have to get there super early and could still enjoy the show. I can't say enough good things about the owners and their responsiveness! It was just my husband and I with our two children but we easily could have had and entire second family along and had plenty of room. Fun family get away!

We are responding to a request made by one of our guests for a picnic table and we decided to add bench seats as well. Our lawn chairs circle the fire pit and we have recently added a wood box for kindling. We have also added two new bar stools to the kitchen. Family getaway

I rented the property for my extended family to get away for Fathers day weekend. Overall property was nice and plenty of space for all of us and I loved that dogs were allowed. Cleanliness of the property was ok...Stove was dirty, bed was not made downstairs at all, sheets were laying on the floor. Fridge and freezer were not working properly at all, we had to toss milk and cheese on 2nd day, so we kept our stuff like that in our coolers that we brought. Bathrooms were ok when it came to cleanliness. Naomi was very responsive and tried to make sure we had everything we needed. Overall we had a great time and were able to relax and spend time with family! Thank you!

We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following: - We strive to provide our guests with a great guest experience, so we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you encountered. - Prior to your stay, we had a last minute reservation that we were unaware of. As soon as you reached out to make us aware of your concerns we promptly responded and went to the property to address the issue. This was an oversight that does not typically happen, and again we sincerely apologize and have taken steps to ensure this does not recur for future guests. - When we were aware of the issue with the fridge, we did a reset and assumed the issue was resolved. We later found out after your stay that the refrigerator was not cooling efficiently after the reset. We have since replaced the refrigerator. We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

Nice home with three bedrooms and two baths which was very close to the lake. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals there except oven needed to be cleaned and smoked when we tried to use it (enough to set off smoke alarm). Sinks in kitchen and upstairs restroom drain slowly. Washer and dryer is convenient. Internet is okay for texting, sending email, connecting phones, etc., but if you need to do remote work which includes uploading large data or image files, the internet is very slow. Listing was managed by a company outside of VRBO, Evolve, which was inconvenient because the property manager would not respond through the VRBO app, so responses were generally slow. I did not go off app to try to communicate with Evolve, so response time varied from days (before our trip) to hours while we were there.

Perfect home away from home!

This cabin is nestled in an area with mature trees and upon arrival, automatically sets the mood. We were excited! When you enter the cabin, it is clean and well-maintained. Naomi and Bernie have brochures and booklets with lots of places to dine and visit, during your stay. The layout of the cabin was perfect for our family of 5. We even appreciated the fans in every room (we use them for white noise at home) The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we use at home, so that I could make supper for our family every night. They provide linens & towels, too, which was nice. Our favorite part of the house was the lower level. It has been newly renovated and the ambiance was perfect to hang out in the evenings, before bed. We spent our days fishing Mille Lacs and local lakes. We also went to Father Hennepin and visited the beach. ($5.00 admission) We were very grateful for local gas stations and Grand Market within a few miles, so that we could buy some staples for the week. There is also a McDonald's a Subway nearby to grab a quick bite to eat, if you're in a hurry. Naomi and Bernie provided excellent customer service. They asked us to call if we needed anything and were just great! We highly recommend this location!

Cabin in the Woods

This rental is every bit a cabin. Think 70’s decor. It has some areas that really should be updated. Especially the upstairs bathroom. Could have been cleaner, since we are charged a cleaning fee. The fire pit was great fun one evening with provided wood too. They have outdoor and indoor games & toys which we used and had fun with. There is lots and lots of room and that’s the very best of it. And without all the space & private setting, it would be a bit overpriced. My husband met the owner when he stopped to pick up garbage and he said he was a personable guy and that’s always nice! We would stay again if we needed to be in the area. We loved the privacy and peaceful woods feeling. It’s a great spot for families or friends.

Instructions for check in and check out were easy to follow. Never had to communicate with property manager. Everything seemed to work as it should. First step out of car was into dog poop unfortunately. Property was on a hill so very little flat yard space. Fire pit was pretty good. Plenty of dry firewood. Cornhole game was old and rotting. Never heard or saw any neighbor at as there is good distance between properties. AC worked great. WiFi was strong. Smart TVs worked well except we couldn't get Apple TV or other apps loaded as TV required Roku PIN which was not given. No local channels either. Be sure to get PIN and bring your streaming service login and passwords. Didn't use the grill or many of the kitchen supplies. Home was very long and narrow with lots of square feet. The building decor and furniture was very outdated. The property was fine for our large group of 11 as we are not fussy about accomodations. It would be quite expensive for small groups relatively speaking though. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay.

Family get away

Very well stocked with everything you might need. Bernie (owner) met us at check in. Very accommodating and welcoming. We enjoyed the property and appreciated their hospitality. Great cabin feel.

Not Quite As Expected

We started planning a family get together a little late in the game and I guess I’m not surprised after visiting why this was the only place with our dates available. The layout is interesting and a little cramped in the kitchen. The full-size bed my husband and I slept on might have been fine for a kid, but the mattress is worn and sagging in the middle which welcomed little sleep. We had issues with the wifi and the host took almost a full day to respond to our request (text and call). The listing says less than a mile from Mille Lacs which is deceiving. When looking at a map, sure, but it was about a 30 minute drive to a decent beach access/fishing point. The cooking pans were one of the nicest things about the place (seemed new and in decent condition). There was also a generous amount of dishes available for a group our size and the dishwasher was nice. At the end of the day, it was a place to sleep.

Excellent Place

The place was very clean and has good sleeping accomodations. My group had an excellent time hanging out there. Not many restaurants are around, but the ones that are there have good food. Very close to a boat rental. Overall a great and fun experience.

A good stay

Overall we liked the property quite a lot. The upstairs bed was a bit firm for my wife (but she's fussy about that). The place was nicely equipped (although the cribbage board could have used an additional peg, it only had 3) and we were very comfortable during our stay.

Awesome location

We had a great time on our get away. Perfect location to for getting on and off ATV trails. The cabin is warm, comfy beds, and cozy fireplace in the basement. The smart TV was a nice surprise update:)

We love being able to share our cabin and destination with our guests. The ATV trail is a great asset, and we've recently added a half circle driveway for larger rigs to drive in and out. We are happy to have added two smart TVs and roku stick and a computer for your convenience.
