Luxury Farm Getaway, sleeps up to 8, stunning Southern Highlands Views

​We had lived overseas for many years and when we returned to Australia in 2011 we decided that we wanted either a sea change or a tree change. Our only stipulation was that it had to be within a 2 -2.5 hour drive from Sydney as we still wanted to spend time in the city with our family and friends.

We quickly dismissed the idea of a beach house and then started searching for farms within 2.5 hours of Sydney. We looked at loads of properties in The Hunter and the South Coast and by chance we looked at a few properties in The Southern Highlands.

We were sold on the area immediately.

1.5 hours from Sydney, an easy drive and the most stunning array of small historical towns and large enough commercial centres and the most stunning scenery. Our search started and we knew that we wanted exceptional views and a comfortable house that was large enough for the whole family.

The moment we drove up the driveway of the farm we were blown away by the expansive views to the Blue Mountains and the most stunning contemporary house. We were lucky enough to secure our property which we named Somerton Lea.

Over the last 10 years we have grown more in love with the region and our 100 acres has become 300 with the purchase of our neighbouring properties .

We have now created a collection of Holiday Rentals on the property, our 1- Bedroom Somerton Barn, our 2-Bedroom Somerton Park and the luxury Somerton Ridge homestead that we designed with guests in mind that sleeps 8.
