Surrounded by nature and encircled by the entire stretch of 90 Mile Beach & Ahipara Shipwreck Bay, enjoy primal sea, sky and forest in a totally private setting.

As the sun rises see the skies change colour from your bed through floor to ceiling French doors, or from your private deck. Watch the sun across the ocean from the tip of Cape Reinga, the northernmost point of NZ - visible from this cabin, then the sunset behind Ahipara Bay. By night enjoy the stars as no light disturbs your view in this hilltop setting.

Note: NO hidden or extra charges. We do NOT add cleaning fees to the total - it's our job to super clean the cabin between guests!
And we also DON'T charge extra for children or pets. We're happy to provide an extra single mattress and all linen and towels.

The space
This hand built cabin is nestled high amongst trees and totally private - nobody can see the cabin, with no houses behind and only the beautiful 180 degree sea view in front. To the sides are mature plantings and trees.

You are surrounded 360 degrees by primal nature, either sea or trees.

There is a private deck with table and chairs for outdoor eating, recliners and a hammock. There is also ample room on the grass in front for yoga, exercise and sunbathing.

The drinking and shower water are beautiful filtered rainwater at the top of the hill.

Comfortable Queen bed, private kitchenette with hand built copper sink and benchtops and a small gas cooker. The bedhead is handmade from Rimu.

Private bathroom with entrance from the deck for ultimate privacy even from your partner (!).

From the bedhead to the bathroom, to the cabin, everything has been sustainably hand built by the owner.

Your entrance and driveway are private, with easily enough space for 2 cars. If you have a boat/trailer we will make space for you to park it safely at the bottom of the drive to save you a difficult turning at the top of the drive.

We (the hosts) are nearby down the driveway, and available to assist with anything you need.

Recharge yourself encircled by the vast, sumptuous sweep of 90 Mile Beach, relax amidst mature trees, birdsong and endless skies of myriad colours through day and night. You can experience sunrise to sunset, and the starry milky way sky as there is little light pollution up here.

Nearby is the world famous 90 Mile Beach, which you can see from this cabin all the way to the very tip - Cape Reinga. 90 Mile Beach and Ahipara Shipwreck Bay are just 3-5 minutes drive from the cabin, the latter is a short walk from the cabin. And secluded beach and coves are 30 seconds away by car, or 2 minutes walk downhill.

Enjoy brilliant surf, beach activities (which we can recommend if you need) fishing, boating, diving, quad biking and climbing and sledding down some of the largest sand dunes in NZ.

Please note this accommodation consists of a Queen bed but we can provide an extra single mattress, bedding, towels etc for a child at NO additional cost.

Guest access
From the private driveway up to the cabin and the entire cabin, deck and grassy areas, bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom and forest behind - it's all for your private use throughout your stay.

Pets
Pets are welcome. Please bring your own pet bedding, and keep dogs in the verandah area. It is covered and quite comfortable. Please keep pets off the bed and armchair.

Other things to note
Tea, coffee, sugar are provided. Breakfast isn't provided but if you request it we can arrange a continental breakfast for an additional cost (just to cover costs so very economical).
