Loved the cabin and setting!

The cabin was in a lovely forest setting, well supplied with thoughtful items and appliances. It was clean, with beautiful decor and extra bedding and blankets if needed. There were two porches to sit outside for morning coffee. The trolley parking was a close drive for going into town, and a grocery store was also close. This place is highly recommended and we would love to visit again.

Beautiful and the cleanest place I have ever stayed!

The home was so amazingly clean and well stocked. Yes the driveway was a bit of a struggle with a F250 but we managed it. We had everything we needed and the owners were very courteous and prompt with replies. If given the opportunity we will definitely stay here again!

Nice cabin with a view to enjoy

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The location is ideal if you prefer tranquility while on vacation. Everything is still within a short distance by car, grocery, restaurants. And best of all, you have a spectacular view of sunrise from your own deck on a sunny day. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Property was clean well stocked and in top condition. Loved the area... loads of stuff to do or just relax in super nice property!! Cabin was beautiful with great views! Easy to find. A beautiful home and location with the most thoughtful hosts we've ever encountered. Without a doubt, the cleanest home, too! The mountain views from the study were terrific. We were moments from Gatlinburg without all the "crazy". A great all around experience - highly recommended!

Amazing!

Great property. Amazing views. Everything was exactly as described. Big enough for who all came for vacation (2 adults, 1 child). Very close to downtown Gatlinburg so made it easy to go do what you wanted and not have a long drive back to relax. Also very easy to get to the national park. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get away to the mountains and enjoy Gatlinburg.

Beautiful Home- Wonderful Hosts!!!

We had a wonderful time at Red Birds Nest- the home was spotless and had everything we could possibly need. The hosts were so kind, when I mentioned we were arriving very late, they made sure the lights were on and even left us coffee cake to start the next day! We also greatly appreciated how easy the checkout instructions were. We would love to stay at this home again and would highly recommend it to others!

Cozy Cabin

We can highly recommend this property. The images online are as advertised. It is warm and cozy. It is impeccably clean and nicely appointed. We also appreciated the location. Your can be in the thick of things at Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge in a short period of time. However you can get away from all of that and relax in this quiet and comfortable home. Lastly the owners are very nice and responsive.

Home Away from Home

A fabulous place located close to Rocky Top Sportsplex and downtown. Pam and Steve always responded very quickly with any questions and their home had all the wonderful amenities my home has. They made us feel welcome and included plenty of instructions as needed. The cabin was warm and inviting and perfect for my daughter and I. The personal touches with chocolates, coffee cake, mini food treats variety was an unexpected surprise and shows their personal touch.

Disappointed and frustrated

I have a fragrance allergy. I spoke with the home owner who said they would remove the fragrance 2 days before our visit. Unfortunately, this did not happen. So, although the home was lovely, I had to stay 2 days in a hotel while my husband and our guests aired the home. So, for anyone with fragrance sensitivities, I would not recommend this lovely home and location.

The Details

I'm not sure what a perfect cabin is but, this definitely makes the list. The hosts contacted us before, during and after making sure everything was going well. This cabin has every up to date IT amenity you need (if you need). Clean, comfortable, if you forgot something they probably left in the cabin for you already. Often throughout the stay I thought to myself how thoughtful the hosts were to have items there to make the stay so pleasant. We were in TN just to hike and you can get to most any trail or trailhead within 20-25 minutes. I'm not a big review guy but had to for this cabin. I left feeling appreciated I stayed here. I can't give a better compliment than that.

A House of Tranquility

It was all good at the house named the Red Bird’s Nest. There were little red birds figurines in many places in and around the house. They were a remainder that we were in a nice place. These are the other positive features of the Red Bird’s Nest: The kitchen is very well equipped; it had every thing needed to make breakfast and to cook any meal; every plate, silver ware and pan were in excellent condition. The grocery store (Food) was about 10 minutes or less from the house and it is well stocked. 3. The house was perfectly located as it was isolated and although other houses are nearby, the view from the house looking at the mountains are unobstructed. In fact, sunrise, sunsets, and moon rising were easily seen from the porch inside the house or from outside; they were spectacular. At night no human activity (noises) was detected. 4. Two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom were perfect for two couples. 5. Getting to the house and into the house on arrival was very easy following the instructions emailed by Pam and Steve. 6. A welcoming email by Steve and Pam on the day we arrived to check if every thing was fine with us and set for the week. All was set for the week. In fact, we never had to contact them. This fact indicates that all was good at the house. 7. The house is peaceful, quiet and pretty. 8. Plenty of stuff to watch streaming in the TV at no additional charge. 9. Accessible to all outdoor activities such as head-trials spots, horseback riding, zipline, and white water rafting. The drawbacks have nothing to do with the house itself or its location. 1. It was confusing that we made the reservation using the Vrbo website. However, once the reservation was made all communications and payments were made to a company called Evolve. Vrbo should have explained why the transactions and emails were going to be from a different company. Nonetheless, all transactions and communications with Evolve/Vrbo were timely and flawless. 2. Going to Gatlinburg (the town) is not worth it. It is way too crowded and noisy. Its appearance is of being a cheese and cheap small town. Avoid it. Going to find the head-trials for hiking or to the Blue Ridge Pkway for hiking we went west instead of going through Gatlinburg. Also, there are good restaurants between the house and Gatlinburg such as the Alamo or Crystelle Creek, among others, again in order not to go the town. All of this make the house more special and unique.

Stunningly beautiful

When I picture “Smokey mountain cabin” in my mind the red birds nest is what I see. The cabin was perfect for our group (2 couples) in every way. Everything was as described, the cabin was well stocked and in a great location. We loved it and would be happy to stay again. A couple of cautionary notes, 1. Our GPS didn’t get us to the cabin, so when it says you have arrived watch for small signs leading in the rest of the way. 2. Two turns are very tight, larger vehicles may have difficulty, especially if you meet a car going the other way. 3. The bears are smart. They defeated the garbage locker and we had a mess to clean up on our last morning. In hindsight we should have used the garbage disposal more so there would have been less food garbage to attract them. Just life in bear country, not a big deal and we loved seeing them around the area, got some great pictures.
