Summary:
Situated along the stunning esplanade of 1770, The Shack enjoys the closest possible position to the historic site where Captain Cook landed all those years ago. The Shack has a lot of rustic charm, and is a no-frills option when staying in the gorgeous 1770, in one of the most sought after positions in the Bay. A short walk to the beach, amenities and the 1770 Marina. Up to two small pets are welcome, please get in touch, $100/pet/stay. Please note the deck area on the property is unfenced.
The Space:
The Shack offers a cozy retreat with a versatile open-plan living area featuring a queen bed, complemented by a spacious lounge area equipped with a large TV and comfortable couches for relaxation.
Another bedroom houses two sets of bunk beds, providing sleeping arrangements for up to four guests.
The rustic kitchen is equipped with an electric stove, microwave, and full-size fridge/freezer, accompanied by a dining table and chairs for shared meals.
Guests can unwind on the deck, complete with a BBQ, while enjoying picturesque views of 1770.
Though lacking air conditioning, the space provides fans for comfort, and its windows, while unscreened, offer a unique connection to the outdoors, akin to camping with modern amenities and cozy bedding.
Pets are welcome, please note that the property is unfenced and is adjacent to the road.
Wi-Fi is unavailable, encouraging guests to disconnect and immerse themselves in the serene surroundings.
The historical charm of The Shack, dating back to the 1960s, adds to its quaint appeal, and its natural setting may attract local wildlife.
There are approximately 15 uneven steps without a handrail to get to The Shack, the property may not be suitable for individuals with mobility impairments.

The area is surrounded by National Parks, pristine waterways and long stretches of unspoiled beaches which front onto the Coral Sea.
Along the headlands of Seventeen Seventy visitors are offered amazing panoramic views across Bustard Bay, the estuary & creeks.
We enjoy an excellent year-round climate with Queensland’s northernmost surf beach at Agnes Water for surfing and beach activities.
Along the Bay at 1770 you can walk along the parklands and enjoy kayaking, fishing and paddle boarding.
It is a short drive to the variety of cafes & boutique shops in the Agnes Water shopping Village or walk down to the beautiful Agnes Water surf beach for a leisurely day along the water.
There is a vibrant Sunday morning market that takes place every second weekend.
Getting Around:
We recommend guests have a vehicle to travel around the area.
There is a shuttle bus that can offer tours, pick up/drop off services from your accommodation, the train station or airport. Please get in touch for more information.
There is a tourism information centre in Agnes Water.
Nearest airports: Gladstone and Bundaberg - 75 kilometres.
Nearest train stop: Miriam Vale - 50 kilometres.
Bus: Greyhound travels to the area daily.
The bus stop is at the Ampol service station in Agnes Water, approx. 8 kilometres away.
