The park below which is short walk or drive has waterfalls and old growth trees and wildlife the park has barbeque covered kitchen area.
with private fire pits just bring your chairs hot dogs and wood.
Many hiking trails in park including Mt Finlayson Mountain...
Many trees are over 600 years old.
There is a cedar tree and some very old fur trees on our property
Short walk to beautiful waterfall that you can swim in if you choose too
-In November-December we have the yearly salmon run which brings much wildlife
bears and so many eagles. bring your cell phone for photos
If you want to explore or relax in mountains this is the spot
This is a one acre private property ..very quiet just listen to the wildlife
There are many restaurants and pubs, grocery stores, malls, bowling ally near by
Also the yummy ice cream mountain at start of MALHAT DRIVE

Unexpected wilderness in a park, but a pleasant surprise and we very much enjoyed it and our accommodations and hosts. It was very safe and secure…a country getaway near enough to the city and other fun parts of the island .

We loved how private this place was. It is close to some beautiful natural wildlife and some pretty hikes. The balcony has a great view of the mountains and we loved that we could make a pot of coffee in the kitchenette area in the morning and have some breakfast on the balcony before we headed out on another adventure for the day. Thanks a lot Sean and Isabel for everything. We will definitely be coming to stay again soon.

The property itself is beautiful and quiet. It’s right near Goldstream Park, which is great if you want to do various hikes. The loft was also clean and spacious. However, the host was not flexible with the check in time and wanted to get it done in the morning/ midday, so we had to adjust our plans. I asked if we could check in virtually or if they could text me the info (the code to the gate of the property) and I was told it had to be done in person. So we checked-in in person to receive the entry code, told where to park, and told that we had to let them know every time we left or came back (as they had a dog). It was a fairly large property, yet the hosts still used the entrance to our “area” during our stay there. Before 9:00 PM I received a message asking if I was staying in for the night… which we weren’t. We couldn’t really get anything from our car without interacting with the hosts. In general the hosts were very friendly, it was just our impression that through VRBO we wouldn’t be sharing the space with hosts, and while there were separate “houses” we were still very much not left to do our own thing. It was our anniversary and we were hoping for a private stay and didn’t feel like we exactly got that.

Beautiful place out in the woods!

We enjoyed our stay. We kind of misunderstood the listing but it’s on us, first time with VRBO. Clean and pleasant. We wish we’d realized it was just a room over the barn. Very nice. It’s a gated property property which is great but you have to notify Isabel every time you come or go so she can wrangle the dog. All things being said, it’s a nice place and was a good base to explore from.

Very quiet, very clean and very comfortable. Isabel and Sean provided everything we needed to make our short stay very comfortable. The deck was a great place to sit in the evening and enjoy the scenery and listen to the birds. The location is perfect for lots of great hikes and exploring the nearby parks. Cozy room at a nice location and reasonable price

My son and I had a very nice time at Mountainview for our two day stay there in August 2024. Although the room was not large, it was cozy, clean, and had all we needed, including a small refrigerator, a microwave, one queen size bed, plates, bowls, glasses, and silverware. There was also a nice bathroom and a little table next to the bed where we could eat and play chess at night. The room, which is located on top of a garage on the large property (which I estimate to be about 5 acres) and separate from the main house where the hosts live, has air conditioning, which we didn't use. The location of the property sits on top a hill just outside Gold Stream Provincial Park, about 20-25 minutes from Victoria's inner harbor. Because it is very quiet here and surrounded by woods in all directions, this place is perfect for vacationers looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet be close enough to access it when so desired.

Nice, quaint with a touch of stress

Everything was as explained in the listing except that we had to text owner 5 minutes before leaving and entering the property through a gate with a code to prevent her dog from leaving the property which honestly just stressed us out. No light on the keypad so had to use a flashlight to see it. To be fair we were there for a memorial of a sibling so we had lots on the mind already.

Everything was beautiful. Perfect spot to relax & enjoy nature. Isabel was awesome with directions to get there. Place was clean & had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend.
