Overall enjoyed our stay.
Pros:
Size:
This property is large and has plenty of sleeping space for your whole crew.
Location:
Close enough to town to run out for anything you may have forgotten, but remote enough to have daily deer sightings from the deck, wild turkeys, too many birds to count, and even a bear! Close to Bass Lake and to Yosemite so plenty of outdoor activities nearby.
Amenities:
The back deck is worth the price of admission. Gorgeous sunsets, wildlife, a grill and large table will make this the space you spend the most time in.
Pool:
It's clean and cool. and has a grill area. It should be mentioned (and it's not in the property listing) that you are sharing this pool with two other rentals. We made friends and enjoyed the cute little kiddies splashing about. The slide is not-functional (unless you're really brave and carry your own water to the top to wet it down)
Cons:
Flies. Like Lord of the Flies kind of thing. We arrived as the housekeepers were finishing cleaning and the house was overrun with them. Took a trip into town for fly strips and fly swatters but battled them all weekend. I really couldn't figure out how they got in in the first place, and how they kept getting in.
Cleanliness:
The whole house could use a deep clean. Baseboards are dirty, the ceiling has leftover party remnants, the kitchen (aside from the new countertops) is just not clean. Cabinet doors don't work, non functioning drawers, and just generally not as clean as you'd keep your own.
Recommend bringing your own pots as every one that has a non-stick surface is cracked and peeling (not safe to cook in) . You'll need to bring your own can opener if you have any cans.
Water pressure:
Not the fault of the owner, I'm sure- I think it's just the ongoing drought in California and the location. Showers are a trickle, and don't plan on flushing the toilet back to back- it takes a few minutes for the tank to refill.
Washcloths- bring your own. There were towels provided, but no washcloths for the kitchen or bathing. I thought we were short on towels but found them in the clothes dryer.
