Wundervolles Familienferienhaus am Ufer des Lake Michigan von Pier Cove. Nur zwei Stunden von Chicago entfernt, liegt dieses gerĂ€umige Haus fĂŒnf Meilen sĂŒdlich von Saugatuck / Douglas und zehn Meilen nördlich von South Haven am malerischen Lakeshore Drive im Herzen von Michigans 'Art Coast'. Dieses große und wunderbar eingerichtete Bauernhaus aus dem Jahr 1870 kann in 4 Schlafzimmern 8 Erwachsene beherbergen. Drei Schlafzimmer haben Doppelbetten, das vierte Zimmer hat Zwillinge. DarĂŒber hinaus gibt es ein Kinderzimmer im grĂ¶ĂŸten Schlafzimmer im Obergeschoss, das ein Doppelbett, volle Krippe und ein Pak n Spiel hat, die 1 Kind und 1 Kleinkind / Kind fĂŒr maximal 10 Personen unterbringen kann. Das Haus ist mit einer zentralen Klimaanlage und einem Holzofen ausgestattet. Die schöne große WohnkĂŒche mit einer Granit-Insel und GerĂ€ten aus Edelstahl öffnet sich auf eine Holzterrasse fĂŒr Essen im Freien / Grillen / Cocktails / und Sonnenuntergang beobachten.
Die KĂŒche hat 2 HochstĂŒhle und eine Sitzerhöhung auch fĂŒr die Kinder.
Es gibt eine große zweite Plattform auf der Klippe ĂŒber dem Strand mit mehr SitzplĂ€tzen, um den Seeansichten und Sonnenaufgang und SonnenuntergĂ€nge zu genießen. Dies ist ein schöner Ort fĂŒr Ihren Morgenkaffee oder AbendgetrĂ€nk.

Charming, yet modern farmhouse south of Saugatuck

Lovely old farmhouse with charm and modern conveniences. Fully stocked for whatever you would need. And even though there was only one shower, the additional enclosed, outdoor shower was a hit with our group! The beach was right across the street, a short walk down the stairs. Lovely sandy beach, but you might need water shoes as the shoreline is a bit rocky. Easy drive to Saugatuck, Holland, and South Haven.

Wonderful long weeked getaway

Very nice older farm hose with plenty of space indoors and out. Loved the screened-in porch, back deck and functional kitchen. Entire family loved the private beach and deck overlooking the lake. Owners are exceptional people who helped enhance our stay.

Awesome Vacation Place on Lake Michigan.

A great place to spend a relaxing weekend get-away with friends and family. I enjoyed the sunset from the private deck and my son loved the beach. The mattresses were very comfortable so I had a great sleep at night. The owner was very helpful and welcoming. I will definitely revisit the place again. Thank you Celeste!

Family Beach Vacation

My wife and her sister decided to have a joint family vacation. We researched most of the western Michigan coast before stumbling upon the Gauntlet House listing. This location ended up exceeding our expectations. The house is older, but equipped with modern kitchen/laundry appliances and air conditioning. Our kids especially enjoyed the option for indoor or the outdoor shower, after hours spent at the private beach. The location is perfect if you want to stay away from crowds, but also only few minutes from multiple activities and dining in Saugatuck/Douglas, Fennville, or Holland. Best family vacation we have ever planned.

Awesome family vacation spot

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! There was plenty of room for our group of 6 adults and 4 children. The private beach was perfect. The deck overlooking the water was the perfect place to enjoy coffee in the morning. The hosts could not have been kinder or more accommodating. We will definitely return for a longer stay.

Girl’s weekend at the Gauntlet House.

This beautiful old farmhouse was a true joy to stay in the past several days. The house is tucked away in the woods with direct access to the lake. The neighborhood is perfect and we felt perfectly safe walking miles around the property each morning on our workouts. There is even a great nature preserve up the street to explore. The house is within several miles of town as well as all the great breweries (Virtue!) and wineries. So fun!! We saw deer, baby turkeys, rabbits, and lots of fish! My favorite spot was definitely the hammock in the backyard, which is perfectly placed under a canopy of trees. Celeste and Dexter are awesome hosts and the house was clean and comfortable! Will for sure be back!!

Little slice of heave.

Celeste and Dexter Are such nice people. Checked in on us, helped out with whatever we needed. The Property is absolutely gorgeous and the view of the sunset and private beach was most definitely one of the highlights of our trip. It was such a needed getaway for a group of best friends. Everyone had a great time and would love to come back again. We had a group of nine and there was plenty enough room for sleeping, gathering, eating. The outside shower was amazing as well. Such a neat feature.

Relaxing!!!!

Great getaway! The front porch is amazing with a great view of the lake! The short stroll across the street to the beach was wonderfully convenient. Having your own private beach and deck equipped with chairs and umbrella was a real luxury! What a wonderful vacation!

Our family loved staying at The Gauntlett House! The property was perfect for our 3 generation family vacation. The kids loved their rooms. Our youngest grandson kept telling us how glad he was that we had "moved there". The beach was perfect and we were blessed with great weather. Great place to relax

Loved our stay here. The beach was a three minute walk from the front door and a special mile walk through the forest in the back also allowed us to enjoy nature and relax. The house has everything you could want and the owners (who live next door) were warm and welcoming.

Peaceful Relaxation on the Shores of Lake Michigan.

The Gauntlett House was the ideal get away during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Set back about 100 yards from the bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, the Gauntlett House provided a comfortable and homey summer retreat. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms fully sufficient (I think we used the outdoor shower far more than the one inside). While all of us are , ahem, adults, the house is clearly furnished with young children in mind. The highlight of each evening was watching the gorgeous Lake Michigan sunsets from the screened in front porch. Dexter and Celeste are consummate hosts, and we could not have been more pleased.

Relaxing beach stay

I stayed at this property with my family, which includes two young kids. The house was kid friendly and provided toys and a high chair. We had a great time being so close to the beach and playing with the toys and rafts that the owners offer. The backyard is huge and the kids loved running in the sprinkler, which the owner specifically timed for them to use. The front porch is screened in and the perfect way to relax without worrying about bugs. The back porch is great for meals if eating outside. We didn’t do much cooking because we weren’t there very long but it appeared to have plenty to comfortably cook meals. The owners are extremely friendly and accommodating, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Comfortable old farm house with Lake Michigan access.

Easy access to Lake Michigan and sandy shore. large grassy yard where we played croquet and corn hole. Nicely updated old farm house, not fancy, but very comfortable.

Perfect August week in Michigan!

We spent a week with family to end our summer and couldn’t have had a better time. The location of the property is perfect — you really can’t beat walking to your own private beach. The host helped us build a beach fire one night, and the kids loved it. Another night we had a pizza party on the deck while we watched the sunset. On a couple of overcast days, we drove I to town and hit up all the tourist spots, which everyone also loved. It was perfect to be close to town but still have our own private oasis. We have three young children and were joined for a few days by our brother and sister-in-law and their three young children — although It sounds like a recipe for chaos, this house actually allowed us to relax on vacation (we couldn’t believe it!). My daughter and I spent an hour each morning making friendship bracelets on the screened in porch, and we spent the rest of the day on the beach. Definitely plan to come back!

Great location, wonderful kitchen, beautiful beach and the private access is so helpful!

Property is obviously well taken care of and in wonderful shape. It’s a great size for a party of 8 and is super kid friendly! Beautiful beach and great private access really makes the trip even more special. Only thing I would suggest is for the owner at some point to put a shower head in the upstairs bathroom so people have two indoor shower options. Other than that, it was perfection. Thank you so much for everything!
