The property is in a great location. 5 mins walk to a beautiful wide long sandy beach and just 10 mins to the start of the Great Ocean Road. From Melbourne Airport it took us a a few hrs drive. Unfortunately we arrived in the dark and with no automatic outside lighting it was quite difficult in the dark to locate the lock and get into the house, so make sure you have a torch. We arrived in September and the house was extremely cold and it took 24hrs to warm up so it was comfortable. There was a bottle of wine left which was a nice touch.Although it is marketed as an original 70s house, i don't think this excuses lack of upkeep or maintenance, such as replacing chipped tiles, cleaning windows etc..also the beds were very uncomfortable and all need new mattresses. This house because of its location could be fabulous it just needs some upkeep. Lastly, just a gripe about the pricing, we requested the property at the listed price however once it was confirmed the owner increased the price, due to a big sporting event in Melbourne. On VRBO there was a min and max pricing for this property which was still exceeded. I did query this with the owner but they did not reply. So we had no choice but to pay the higher price.
