Thank you for being great guests and for sharing your concerns with us. This is a classic, old-school cabin along Wheeler Lake, and I hear your feedback regarding the areas that did not feel as well-maintained as they should. I’m going to make a conscientious effort to dig deeper into those concerns and determine where improvements need to be made. Your perspective is helpful, and we appreciate you taking the time to share it. We wish you the very best in your future travels and hope you’ll consider staying at another Freshwater Vacation Rentals property listed on VRBO in the future. We have a wide variety of homes and styles—some with that classic cabin character and others that are much more updated. We’d love the opportunity to help you find one that is a better fit for you next time. Sincerely, Cara Owner, Freshwater Vacation Rentals

Steven, thanks for your kind words about FVR! We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at Wheeler Lake House. It is located in Kalkaska, MI on Wheeler Lake and sleeps 7. It's great for snowmobilers because you can ride right from the house. It's also the perfect place to go to unwind, because it is quiet, peaceful, and serene.

Thank you sharing with us your perspective. I'm glad you liked the location and the atmosphere, plus had a good fishing experience. Still, I'm very disappointed to hear that our housekeeper did not meet what your expectations. We will be re-training and reviewing our cleaning check-list with her. It is an older cottage, yet still there is no excuse. We didn't know you were unhappy with the clean during your stay, or we would have offered to send someone out to re-clean. Still, it should be right the 1st time. My apologies. We hope you consider returning again in the future. Sincerely, Cara Owner, Freshwater Vacation Rentals

Tiffany, we love hearing that you were able to relax and unwind, and that you had fun! We hope to work with you again.

I’m so glad you loved the fishing on Wheeler Lake! The cottage was indeed cleaned prior to your arrival, but I’m truly sorry it wasn’t cleaned to the level it should have been. We always strive for our cottages to be perfectly clean. You’re absolutely right—while it is an older home, nothing should ever be stuck on the floors or tables. The iron in the water does make the tub look unclean at times. The cleaners normally use Iron Out. There is very hard well water at the cottage. I wish we would have known about your experience during your stay; with your permission, we would have gladly sent another cleaner over to take care of it while you were out enjoying your time on the lake. I appreciate your feedback, even though it stings a bit. It helps us continue improving and striving to make every guest experience ideal. Warm regards, Cara
