Everything was absolutely beautiful!!! With magazine cover views, interior design & decorating what wasn’t there to love?! I was met by the host and welcomed with lots of goodies. Reading about all the love, sweat & tears that went into this property just made me appreciate and love my time there even more! I can’t wait to come back.

Weekend away

Absolutely stunning property and location. The place exceeded all of our expectations and the hosts were fantastic in terms of communication and making sure our stay was the best it could be. We had an incredible time, relaxing in front of the fire, going on walks, and just taking in the surrounds. Definitely would recommend to anyone wanting a getaway and we would absolutely visit again.

A place that feels like home (only nicer and with views)

We’ve stayed with Fiona before so, when we needed accommodation for my daughter’s wedding we were only too happy to book with her again. The property is beautiful, clean and inviting and Fiona’s hospitality is warm and friendly. We’d highly recommend Springmead and Fiona!

Absolutely incredible!

We had an amazing time at Kookawood, the property is stunning and the location is out of this world. The directions and communication with Fiona were perfect and the attention to detail upon our arrival made for a very special experience. The bath over looking the valley at sunset was magical and we very much look forward to returning again in the future, would highly recommend!

What a spot!

We had two magical days at Kookawood. The house has so much character filled with warmth and some very generous touches from our hosts. We walked down to the valley floor and back up (phew) earning a well-deserved beer by the incredible firepit admiring the stunning view. We’ll be back for sure!

Gorgeous getaway

Stunning property and views for days. Kookawood is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Almost every seat in the house has a spectacular vantage point over the Megalong Valley. Loved every minute and felt like I was a million miles away from everything in the best possible way. Can’t wait to come back.

Lovely Getaway with our Furry One

The cottage overlooking the mountains are beautiful and the house itself has an old charm to it, with antiques and pictures that tells a nice story. We love the outdoor bathtub, peacefulness and the scenery. You see wallabies around too, and the friendly horses are so cute. We had a great time and our dog absolutely love it as well!

Spectacular views

Totally enjoyed staying at Kookawood. It was just what I needed. A place to relax and reenergise myself. Has spectacular views of the mountains and the house is positioned so you can enjoy these views from which ever room you are in the house. A great place for dogs to have an adventure too. They had best time.

A slice of paradise

This stunning place had been on the list to visit and it’s even more magical than the pictures. The house is an absolute delight, a beautiful space with details and pieces that gives it a wonderful character and warmth. The fireplace was a highlight not to mention the fire pit with the amazing view of the valley and mountains during daytime and the perfect spot for star gazing at night. Beds were incredibly comfortable and bathtub outside the place to be at sunrise (hard to leave to comfy bed but absolutely worth to get up to see the sunrise). Hosts were wonderful and provided great communication prior to and upon arrival (thank you Fiona and Michael for sharing this slice of paradise!) We can’t wait to visit again.

Awesome house and exceptional views

Thanks Fiona and Michael for sharing beautiful Kookawood with us. From the moment we arrived we couldn’t take our eyes off the view from the verandah. In spite of the extensive DVD collection, not once did we turn on the TV during our week long stay. Instead, we wandered around the property, discovered the scenic 8km loop from the property round local countryside and just hung out on the verandah checking out the view and the beautiful gardens. It was pretty hot while we were there so our dog Alice loved to lie on the tiled verandah with one eye on the lizards. We didn’t quite get her to make friends with Billy and Bunny the mini horses, however she loved checking them out from a distance. Thoroughly recommend Kookawood as a destination to escape the city with all the home comforts.

Amazing holiday.

Relaxing and quiet! Lovely owners very helpful answering questions. Beds were very comfortable, fireplace was a stand out along with the firepit. Will definitely have to visit again some time soon.

Additional extras that just made the weekend even better

There are a few things that the advert don't tell you about the property and general vicinity that make this trip extra special. One is the actual drive to the property, and two is the fact that the sunrise and advertised pictures are as the experience is. A bright pink and yellow sunrise with mist coming slowly dissipating over the mountains as the morning roles on. The house was ridiculously well stocked with extras, there was no need for me to bring all the groceries I brought with me. The actual house was so comfortable and honestly enjoyable in any weather. I got to experience both, a warm day and a more overcast day. With the two floors it felt so grand yet antique at the same time. The hosts are super helpful too. I highly recommend this place to couples, friends or a place to take a parent or parents away for a special getaway.

Beautiful and stunning location and property

Words cannot describe the beauty of Kookawood. It is a stunning and unique property that is perfect for a weekend getaway away from the hustle and bustle of life in Sydney. Our time at Kookawood was very relaxing with such a homely feel, that you cannot help but be in awe of the time and effort that the owners have put into the place. I would highly recommend Kookawood to anyone. I know we will definitely be going back in the future!
