We have had many self-catering holidays ourselves and are so often disappointed when we arrive, that the little things haven't been thought about - whether its a lack of coat hangers in the wardrobes, a desperate lack of suitable equipment in the kitchen, or a feeling that we need to clean the cottage before we can stay in it. So we have tried to ensure that at Dalnoid we've thought of everything:
- our cleaning standards are very high
- we don't charge for extras - so electricity, logs, bedding, towels, hot-tubs, wifi are all included in the price you pay
- you'll find a few treats in the kitchen when you arrive, along with plenty of basics you'd have at home (cling film, tin foil, plastic bags, kitchen roll, salt & pepper, oil etc)
- We've included everything we can think of in the kitchen, including a Scottish porridge spurtle! (but if you think of something else, just make a note in the visitor book and we'll see what we can do)
- there are at least 20 coat hangers in each wardrobe, so you don't have to live out of a suitcase on the floor
- there are soap dispensers at all of the sinks (including the kitchen), as well as a range of toiletries in the bathroom
- there are plenty of tablets for the dishwasher and washing machine and an initial supply of toilet rolls in the bathrooms
- there are a good supply of books and DVDs
- there are sledges (and snow shovels) for the winter months
- there are BBQs, comfy seating and a picnic table in the garden for summer months, as well as the private hot-tub which is available all year round
We try to ensure that our guests arrive and are pleased with what they see and they've not had to pack the kitchen sink to enjoy their holiday.
