Dieses einzigartige und bezaubernde Anwesen ist Teil der historischen Gebäude der Abtei von Cerne, die im Jahr 987 als Benediktinerhaus errichtet wurde und einen Blick auf den Abteihof mit großen Gärten in der Nähe bietet. Die Abtei selbst ist in Privatbesitz, und die Gäste können die Anlage genießen und frei wandern. Die Liegenschaft befindet sich in dem hübschen Dorf Cerne Abbas, berühmt für seine dominierende Kreide-Schnitzerei des Cerne Giant - die vor 1500 Jahren am Hang gemeißelt wurde. Inmitten der Schönheit der Dorset Hills können Sie kilometerlange Spaziergänge unternehmen, darunter auch den Dorfpfad. Puddletown, Tolpuddle und Thomas Hardys malerisches Piddle Valley sind leicht zu erreichen. Etwas weiter entfernt liegen kilometerlange Sandstrände und einige der Jurassic-Küsten von Dorset. Geschäft und drei Pubs mit ausgezeichnetem Essen, 100 Meter.

Compact downstairs, more spacious upstairs. Very convenient for visiting local places of interest, and within walking distance of three pubs/restaurants and an excellent village shop. Parking very convenient outside the cottage. Thoroughly recommended.

A fabulously homely cottage with everything we needed for our little escape with Mulder the cockapoo.The setting is just perfect and the owner made us feel so welcome. We even got our own private tour of the gatehouse.The corner bath is enormous! Perfect for a long soak after a muddy walk around the Cerne Abbas Giant. The cottage was beautifully warm and having access to the garden was perfect for our morning cup of coffee as Mulder had a run around.The village shop was amazing. There are 3 pubs in the village. We had a fabulous meal at The Giant Inn and the church runs a coffee and cake drop in on a Wednesday morning. We caught the bus to Dorchester. A 30 minute ride away.Highly recommended. We will be back.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at Cerne Abbey Cottage. It is so cozy and the welcome was amazing. Beatiful surroundings and it oozes historical character. We went at a time when the apples, pears and figs were falling from the trees and they did not go to waste. The locality of this cottage is unique and most beautiful. The owners, who live on site, are helpful and very friendly. The cottage overall was comfortable and suited our holiday requirements perfectly. The one big reservation was the bathroom which needs serious updating, including the shower which was inadequate and, in fact, useless. We enjoyed a few days of R&R here at the start of December. Although the cottage was a little cool at times we managed. Our only complaint was with the WiFi. We ha d strong signal but could only get connected to the internet sometimes in the morning. The 4G signal was good though.

The village has all the amenities you could wish for and everyone is so friendly We feel that we have been away for a month it was so relaxing Barbara and Michael are superb hosts nothing is too much trouble for them
