Every once in a while we come accross people like Douglas. We never met, so I am limited in my ability to form an opinion, however, what we did see is that he made some false statements about us, for reasons only known to him. In the past, situations like this have usually boiled down to mistake bookings or people who found a better price while having signed a booking agreement. We invite all of our future guests to check out our wonderful reviews. We host on multiple platforms and one can easily review our excellent, and most importantly, consistent reviews. We are in a middle class area, and while it is not Beverly hills, it is also by no means 'sketchy'. We, ourselves and our families, live literally two blocks from our rental. Gavin did not specify what was unclean about our apartment, because it wasn't unclean. We have a hepa filter on our AC unit, and the property was remodeled in 2016, and I am completely confused about what smell he is referring to. The comment about the "Do not enter" sign is a joke -- there is a "Do not keep door open" sign, so that warm air from the laundry vent window does not bring in moist, hot air and compete with the AC. There are no bugs in our unit, and we have the Orkin preventative maintenance receipts, every month for the past 5 years to prove this. Lastly, he only contacted us ONCE during his stay, and we answered his question within the hour. He never attempted to contact us in any other way, and he was aware that we live just down the street. Upon checking in, he began his complaints, and when we offered to immediately address any issues, he changed his complaint and came up with new reasons. I do not believe he wanted us to fix the situation, I believe he just found a cheaper place. I was so shocked and surprised by his comments, and I DID offer him a full refund -- provided that he told us the real reason he's cancelling. Regardless, we specify that our proximity to the apartment is one of our distinguishing features.
