Two night break

Needed a place to stay near Edinburgh, Holy Island and Alnwick and this property stood out. They do not allow pets, which is great for people with allergies. On arrival we were not disappointed, truly lovely quiet location, once we found it. The accommodation was spotless and very well appointed, perfect for our self catering needs - 3 adults. To keep costs low, we brought food with us and and the kitchen & bbq worked well. Lovely lounge area and plenty of books and games. Both bedrooms en suite, one shower only suitable for children due to size. Beds undersold really, very comfortable and perfect size - much larger than expected. Thank you Zuzana, we really enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful stay

We had a great stay, the cottage was wonderful in a lovely village. The local pub was very good for dinner and local cafe had tasty cakes. The wood burner was a particularly cosy feature and WiFi was great for the kids.

Family break

Cottage was as described, very clean and comfy, excellent location for Scottish Borders, 2 minute walk into village but sadly not alot there, 1 pub (food was very good) chemist, small grocery store, small coffee/cake shop and a antique shop that was never open, would recommend a visit though as the surrounding countryside is beautiful, worth a trip to St Abbs, Pease Bay and Kelso. Would definetly recommend this place for a short stay and will be going back.

Nice cottage in a good location

Clean and well equipped. No dvd player to help with the wet weather but more than made up for with Netflix.

Beautifully designed, wonderfully comfortable, great location

We loved our stay at The Tackhouse, great mix of contemporary and mid century furniture, beautifully clean, comfy beds, crisp linen, pristine bathrooms. A fire laid ready in the burner. Lots of lovely touches from thoughtful hosts. Greenlaw is very quiet but really well situated for accessing so many places in the Borders and Northumbria. A jewel of a cottage when so many places are formulaic or tired. Thanks for a great stay!

Lovely cottage, great location!

Just returned from a short stay at this lovely cottage! The location is ideal, very peaceful and the village was obviously quiet as Scotland comes out of lockdown, but easily accessible for the beautiful Scottish & Northumbria coast. The cottage is lovely too, ideal for 4 adults with plenty of facilities, spotlessly clean and with excellent hosts. Berwick, St Abbs, Dunbar and North Berwick all less than 60 minutes away and all worth visiting!

A perfect stay

A really comfortable and welcoming cottage in immaculate condition. We made good use of the wood fire, the little reading library, and the fenced in garden for the kids to run in. The hosts are friendly, helpful, pay careful attention to details and little extras and left us a beautiful Christmas hamper. Strongly recommend.

Perfect cottage with super helpful hosts

Thank you for a lovely stay in your gorgeous cottage. Everything was so well thought out and clean. It truly felt like a home away from home and is a great place from which to explore the area. The kids loved the large garden to explore (and Netflix once it was up and running. Thank you for bringing over your DVD player and a selection of DVDs to each when it wasn’t working due to an internet problem in the village). That was really very kind. Kitchen was so well equipped, and we really enjoyed sitting in front of the wood burning stove in the evening after our days out. Beds were super comfy and showers/baths great. Also loved the bath products you provided. I would highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful Cosy Cottage

We had a fabulous, relaxing stay at The Tackhouse, it's beautifully decorated, with lots of lovely homely touches. It had everything you could need during your stay. The kids especially loved the large garden. Its situated in a private courtyard, so very peaceful, but still close to village amenities. We particularly enjoyed Sunday lunch at the Blackadder Arms. Our host was friendly and helpful. We had the best time.
