Charmantes Dorset Cottage.

Das Berry Farm Cottage befindet sich in einem privaten Bereich auf dem Gelände der Berry Farm aus dem 16. Jahrhundert. Es befindet sich im charmanten Naturschutzdorf Walditch, das im Domesday Book of 1086 vermerkt ist. Wenn Sie ankommen, werden Sie absolut verstehen, warum das gesamte Gebiet als Gebiet von außergewöhnlicher natürlicher Schönheit ausgewiesen ist.

Die beliebte Marktstadt Bridport mit ihrer großartigen Kunstszene, unabhängigen Geschäften, dem Vintage-Viertel und vielen Bars und Restaurants ist nur 1,6 km entfernt. Und was den Strand angeht? Die zum Weltkulturerbe gehörende Juraküste und die berühmte West Bay (Schauplatz des ITV-Dramas „Broadchurch“) sind ebenfalls nur 3 km entfernt.

Das Cottage selbst befindet sich abseits des Haupthauses auf einem eigenen Grundstück mit einem 1.200 m² großen Obstgarten mit 18 Apfel-, Kirsch- und Pflaumenbäumen sowie einer Außenterrasse mit Tisch und Stühlen.

Um das Landschaftsgefühl zu verstärken, grenzt an diesen großen Garten ein Feld an, auf dem (normalerweise) von Januar bis März eine Schafherde lebt - mit neugeborenen Lämmern, die im Frühling eintreffen! (Bitte beachten Sie, dass dies nicht unsere Schafherde ist und wir daher keine Garantie dafür geben können, dass die Zeiträume, in denen sie auf dem Feld sind, eingehalten werden.) Wundern Sie sich auch nicht, wenn Sie das eine oder andere Reh im Garten sehen.

Das Cottage wurde kürzlich mit viel Liebe zum Detail komplett renoviert, um ein schönes, gemütliches Landhaus mit vielen stilvollen und skurrilen Details zu schaffen.

Es gibt 2 Schlafzimmer (1 Doppelzimmer im ersten Stock und 1 Zweibettzimmer im Erdgeschoss) und jedes hat ein eigenes Badezimmer mit ebenerdiger Dusche. Handtücher werden gestellt und ein kompletter Wäschewechsel erfolgt wöchentlich.

Das offene Wohnzimmer verfügt über zwei Doppelsofas, einen Flachbildfernseher mit DVB-T, einen DVD-Player sowie Regale mit Büchern, DVDs und Spielen. Fenster mit zwei Seiten sorgen das ganze Jahr über für ein helles und luftiges Ambiente. Der Kamin ist elektrisch und bietet ein realistisch aussehendes Feuer für die kälteren Winternächte.

Der Essbereich ist im Bistrostil gehalten und kann mit einer Auswahl an Oberlichtern, Bilderlichtern und umgebenden LED-Streifen für jede Mahlzeit anders beleuchtet werden!

Die angrenzende Küche ist komplett ausgestattet mit Backofen und Geschirrspüler, Mikrowelle, Wasserkocher und einer kompletten Auswahl an Geschirr, Besteck und Gläsern.

Der Hauswirtschaftsraum im Erdgeschoss beherbergt die Waschmaschine und den Gefrierschrank.

Es gibt einen privaten Parkplatz für zwei Fahrzeuge neben dem Haus.

Lovely cottage set in beautiful grounds of main property. We had a great week exploring the surrounding area including the Swannery, the Botanic Gardens, Portland Bill and Lyme Regis. We had a fabulous stay at Berry Farm Cottage over New Year. We are a family with 3 young children and Neil and Mike were so welcoming with a great hamper, New years/Christmas decorations and games and books for the kids to play with. The cottage was lovely, cosy and very clean. The surrounding area is beautiful and the restaurant recommendations from Neil and Mike were spot on. Thank you again. We hope to be back soon!

A great, well maintained cottage but the real highlight was the massive, private garden. Perfect for a picnic and prosecco in the evening. Would definitely stay here again, the welcome book was also incredibly comprehensive - much to do in the surrounding area!

Charming cottage near Bridport and Jurassic Coast

Immaculate and very stylish. Four adults enjoyed a great weekend due to the very thoughtful use of space. Too wet to take advantage of number of walks direct from door, a one hour touring radius covered to the East Lulworth Cove, Portland Bill, to the West Lyme Regis and Sidmouth to the North Sherborne. Closer to home Abbotsbury, Chesil Beach, West Bay and Bridport itself with interesting independent shops, lively pubs and very good range of restaurants. Our hosts were on hand but discreet. What’s not to like.

Four Meet up in Dorset

We were two couples wanting a little break away together and needed a place to stay. Berry Farm turned out to be perfect. It is set in the most beautiful grounds and if you get lucky with sunny weather during your stay you'll be able to take advantage of an early morning cuppa in the orchard. The hosts seemed to have thought of pretty much everything, including mirrors by the window and plug sockets for those of us needing to do hair and make-up. It is in a great location for taking advantage of the surrounding area. If you don't want to go out in the car, I recommend taking the river walk from Bridport to West Bay. I have Coeliac disease and I can honestly say that all the places we ate in, catered very well for a gluten free diet. I particularly liked 'Rise' in West Bay that actually boasted on their menu the use of dedicated fryer's for gluten free (although be aware that service can be quite slow). This is a fabulous little cottage and I can totally recommend.

Berry Farm Cottage is a real home from home! Spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished with an eclectic and stylish mix of furniture, furnishings and ornaments, it has everything you need, well equipped, well thought out and with a lovely surprise of a welcome hamper on arrival. Great location close to the shops in Bridport and close to the sea and major sites in this lovely part of Dorset. Mike and Neil have an eye for detail and one or both of them have that creative streak that makes this holiday cottage a big step up from the norm? Neil & Mike are most gracious and generous, for sharing their scenic cottage in West Dorset. Would highly recommend for a small family or couple (with perhaps another couple as guests), seeking to recharge in peaceful setting. Beautifully maintained home from home, lovely garden looking onto a Farmers field that had sheep and newly born lambs, and a delightful morning chorus of birds to wake up to. Very close to Bridport and plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. Neil was a charming host loved the many thoughtful little touches around the interior of the cottage. information booklets about Dorset and local walks, flowers , welcome basket , fresh milk in the fridge and little Easter chicks to find in every nook and cranny . Thank you Neil , we really enjoyed our stay . And hope we will return some time soon.

Beautiful peaceful cottage

The communication with the owner was excellent and the quality cleanliness, character and comfort of the cottage exceeded expectations. The area is great for walking and Bridport is very interesting ( as are number of nearby places) with lots of independent shops and is a very pleasant 15 - 20 minute walk. The location of the cottage is very nice and quiet with its own lovely paddock sized garden. We slept very well and woke to sound of birds singing in the morning.
