We really enjoyed our stay here overall. If it's your first VRBO, it should be noted it's not a hotel and there are things that come with that, a little noise here and there from the neighbors, and some very small idiosyncrasies with a house rather than a hotel room - shower takes a little fiddling and that water and the water from the faucet gets crazy HOT.. that kind of thing.
Aside from that though, it's wonderful. Small but very well outfitted. All very modern appliances, comfy bed, nice little deck off the side. Not a misleading photo to be seen, really exactly like it's pictured, maybe with even better light though in person.
The best part might be the location though. We found Charleston very walkable and the main area of King Street where the shops, etc. begin was a 5-minute diagonal walk from the end of Henrietta Street. Marion Square is right at the end of Henrietta which is where the seasonal (unfortunately for us!) farmer's market is, and someone also said the Wildlife Expo takes place there. There's also a drugstore and a 24-hour supermarket also within a 5-minute or so walk. We rented a car a couple days, and there are two of those agencies within about a 5-10 minute walk too, which is very handy for the drop-off.
The hosts were not intrusive in the least, which we appreciate, but certainly willing to help out with anything, anytime. We found the rate here to be cheaper than almost all of the hotels and B&Bs we were looking at, and as long as you don't mind a little self-service that comes with the VRBO, this is a no-brainer. Kind of wish it was my rental so I could just stay there anytime I had a long weekend!!
