The worst rental experience I’ve had
We were very upset with our stay and the communication between us and the owners/managers?? of the property.
We communicated early on that we were having issues with all air conditioners (there are only two… one bedroom doesn’t have any). There were no instructions on how the use them and the remotes were confusing. Once we finally figured it out, despite the system showing it was producing cold air, the air was not getting cold. No one ultimately came to address the problem and we were very uncomfortable during our stay and especially our sleep as it was hot and there are no fans in the apartment! To make it worse, we couldn’t even open the windows because the shades that block out sunlight make it impossible to get any air AND one bedroom didn’t even have screens in the windows, anyways. We received some help via messaging on whatsapp to “troubleshoot” (which arguably shouldn’t be our job as guests) but eventually they stopped responding and never answered our calls when we tried calling them from the start.
Our last complaint to the owner/manager was that the freezer didn’t seem to be working, either. It would barely get anything cold, sometimes freezing things then completely thaw randomly (who knows, maybe because it was so hot in the apartment!!).
Do yourself a favor and don’t stay here. I wish we could get a refund. Spend your money and enjoy your vacation elsewhere. In fact you should probably avoid staying in Catania altogether. Just make a day trip.
