This is a rustic trailer that doesn't look impressive from the outside, but it is decorated nicely and is quite comfortable. The owner communicates well and shared her walking stick and bear spray with us. There is a fun restaurant with good food within walking distance.

Perfect Base camp location if you’re going to Explore the North Cascades, the Mount Baker area or just a PNW in general in Washington. I will be back!

Karen was an absolutely amazing host! She provided us with dinner and was so sweet to our family. She was a wonderful communicator regarding checking in and providing recommendations for the area. The property was a tight fit for our family and somewhat unclean to bugs and moisture issues gave things a musty odor. If you need to crash after hiking this is a great location right outside the North cascades!

Just what we needed

This is a great choice if you need comfortable beds, great pillows, and a good shower. It's a simple place with a full kitchen and is very close to North Cascades National Park. The owner is very attentive and responds quickly.

Great gateway to Northern Cascades

This little place is a great place to enjoy the northern cascades. Not far up route 20 is the visitors center and lots of great hikes. Our host communicated very well with us and helped ensure we had a great time on our visit to the area. And just a few blocks from the trailer is a great little restaurant and bar. Great food and friendly service. And plenty of hiking nearby.

Convenient location and great communication from host. Beds are comfortable and nice to have a kitchen. Not much of a sitting area since there is a bed in the living room. Would have appreciated having a couple of ice trays and a baking sheet to help heat food in the oven.

Karen is a wonderful host! The property was clean, comfy, and convenient. It was only about a 30 minute drive into the North Cascades National Park. My Mom and I really enjoyed our stay! What a wonderful place

Karen was a wonderful host. It was the perfect location for North Cascades. Romeo the cat was a big highloght, suoer friendly and rushed to greet us. Just an overall great place, great setup and great host. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

Accomodations were comfortable. We loved the setting: mountain views overlooking the river.

Karen was a super hostess. She brought us spring water. When we had completed tour of National Park, she shared with us a map of hikes and views in nearby mountains that we would have never been aware of. We also enjoyed the Rockport State Park which has virgin timber that is magnificent!

Best hostess ever!

Karen was so great! We arrived with a flat tire, and we were unsure of how we would take care of it the following morning. Karen researched the spot we should take our car and provided an air compressor to inflate it to get it to the shop! She also gave our boys a tour of the river near and went on a short hike with us telling us fun little facts about the area. She is a great person and she made our trip so much better. Thank you for everything Karen!

North Cascades Getaway

This mobile home property is very dated and in need of upgrades. Most concerning was the electrical wiring. Many of the electrical outlets did not work and many things were connected with extension cords. The home was adequately clean. The two good things about the home were its proximity to the North Cascades National Park and after a day of hiking, the shower had instant hot water and great water pressure.

Second stay was as good as the first!

This was my second stay here. It's location to the North Cascades is perfect, which is why I chose to return. My plans changed at the last minute and Karen was so gracious and flexible and was able to accommodate my requests. Thanks Karen! The trailer is simple but clean and has everything you need. The beds are extremely comfortable. WiFi would be a welcomed addition as I really had no cell service except when I went into local towns and went to restaurants that offered WiFi. Just come prepared with maps and plans becuase it might be a challenge if you are relying on your phone for those things. I hope to return at some point The North Cascades at absolutely beautiful! Such a great area.

Sehr abgelegen, weitab von jeglicher Zivilisation, dafĂŒr ist man in absoluter NĂ€he zum Eingang des North Cascades NP. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten bzw. Tankstelle gibt es auf jeden Fall in Darrington, eventuell noch in Concrete. Restaurants gibt es nicht in der nĂ€heren Umgebung, essensmĂ€ĂŸig kann man sich besser selbst versorgen. Rockport besteht nur aus ein paar HĂ€usern und einer Post. Die Unterkunft ist sehr einfach und schon ganz schön abgewohnt. Wir haben aber in der NĂ€he nichts anderes gefunden und eine Nacht kann man das mal aushalten. Es ist schließlich alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Wohnbereich und Bad sind halbwegs gerĂ€umig. Duschgel ist auch vorhanden, ebenso HandtĂŒcher und ein Föhn. Im Bad gibt es keine Heizung, nur im Wohnbereich. In der KĂŒche hat man einen großen KĂŒhlschrank, einen Herd und Mikrowelle zur VerfĂŒgung. Geschirr, Pfannen etc. ist alles da, kein Toaster. Was man benutzt, muss man aber selber spĂŒlen. KĂŒche war alles etwas klebrig und fettig vom jahrelangen Gebrauch. KĂŒhlschrank ist sehr laut und hat die ganze Nacht gebrummt. Fernseher gibt es nicht, man hĂ€tte wohl auch keinen Empfang. Überall hĂ€ngen Klebezettel, wo drauf steht, was man alles darf und was nicht. Im KĂŒhlschrank findet man alle möglichen Essensreste etwaiger VorgĂ€nger, die man aufbrauchen darf, muss man aber nicht. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin hat im Vorfeld sehr gut funktioniert, wir bekamen einen Code, mit dem man den SchlĂŒsselkasten öffnen kann. Ist auch alles leicht zu finden. Vor Ort gibt es weder WLAN noch Telefon/Daten-Empfang, Ladesteckdosen waren aber vorhanden. Jedenfalls sagen sich hier Fuchs und Hase gute Nacht. Aber im großen und ganzen wussten wir was uns erwartet, von daher ok.

Excellent accommodation

Don't be deceived by your prejudices. This trailer has a fully equipped kitchen, microwave, refrigerator, stove and oven. It is air conditioned. The beds are new, the shower works, it was a great location for hiking the western slope of the North Cascades.

Wonderful Stay

Had a pleasant stay at Karen's place and will certainly return for more visits. Kitchen was great and plenty of privacy both inside and outside the home. Liked the location, very close to Mt Baker and lake Shannon. It was also very clean on the inside and had a nice storage space on the porch for ebikes.

Good location for exploring North Cascades National Park

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful part of the country. Karen was a great host-very friendly and helpful. The trailer is older and small, but has everything needed to recoup after a day of hiking. We left early each morning and returned in the evenings so we did not spend much time at the trailer during the day. We were thankful for the small AC unit in the main area as it warmed up during the days we visited. Proximity to the areas trails are the biggest selling points of this property.

We loved it!

Good rate for a clean, warm and conveniently located trailer in Rockport. It had the amenities we needed and was located in a spectacular corner of wilderness near the North Cascades. The turkeys kept us very entertained and Karen was super friendly, helpful, welcoming and had a lot of great suggestions. The River walk along the Skagit river by the property offered some amazing views and wildlife sightings too! Would stay again!

I was aware this was not a 5 star place prior to staying but picked it due to the location to hike. If all you need is a. bed to sleep in, this is your place, The beds were great and the kitchen had everything needed but shop before you arrive, no store in town. The owner was wonderful and it was enchanting living on a little turkey farm for 3 nights. I would return but know what to expect.
