Escapism doesn't get better than this.
What a wonderful place Plumtrees is. Spacious and with amazing views, you can just drink in those big Norfolk sky's and completely relax and unwind. We enjoyed a sundowner in the garden room which overlooks the little pond and also from the master bedroom which has far reaching views. In the perfect place to get onto the coastal path without using your car, handy for Titchwell, which can be seen from the bedroom window. Excellent customer service from Norfolk Hideaways, they are a fantastic knowledgeable group of people, they really know the properties and are happy to help in anyway.

Wonderful house, great location, slight hiccup with housekeeping at the beginning
We loved Plumtrees and would definitely stay there again, however when we arrived at 5.30 pm after a long drive there were no sheets on the beds and no towels. A phone call to the office luckily caught someone there who organised the cleaners to come with sheets and towels by 7.30pm. So it was all sorted quickly but still wasn't what we would have expected given how much we were paying for the Christmas week. The house is lovely, well equipped and comfortable. The location and views are amazing.

Fabulous house
The location of Plumtrees is perfect, situated away from the main road, near The Green and overlooking the salt marshes. There are a number of lovely walks straight from the house and the pubs and Deli are within easy walking distance. The house itself was wonderful, great layout, warm, comfortable rooms and very nicely furnished.

Birthday weekend away
Having previously enjoyed many weekends away in this country over the last year including through Norfolk Hideaways we had high expectations of the property, spending a little more on a 3 night stay then we would normally due to a special birthday. The property was lovely and in a fabulous location, however just not very welcoming. It felt sparse and cold with attention to detail missing.
We looked forward to the open fire but had only been left 4 logs for our first evening. These burnt in no time. Luckily we had come prepared with a bag of logs.
The fridge was clean but empty, a bottle of milk would not have gone amiss. Perhaps a small welcome hamper would be helpful. The fridge also had a very strong odour, a bit like bleach which remained all weekend. Not very pleasant for storing food.
The side lamps in the lounge did not work and when we went to replace the bulbs from those left in the drawer, they didn’t work either. Some of the pillows have seen better days and we left we stripped the bed to be helpful, to find stains on the mattress protector, which probably should have been replaced. There was also an ornament in the bedroom that had been broken previously and really should have been removed rather than leaving it in pieces.
Despite the little issues, the house was nice, the master bedroom lovely with its views and the location for walks from the doorstep fabulous. The local places to eat were really good too.
We had a lovely weekend and with the issues resolved would recommend the property.

Plumtrees Revisited (4th time)
Plumtrees is a spacious, well located holiday home in the village of Thornham. We have stayed here 4 times - 4 adults and a 10yr old. It is perfect for our needs and we would hope to return. It is comfortable, warm and well equipped with views over Thornham Marsh to the sea and Titchwell RSPB reserve. A barn owl regularly hunts over the nearby village green. Thornham is a lovely village and Plumtrees gives easy access to the 3 pubs/restaurants, Thornham Deli and playing fields, Thornham Harbour and coastal walks.
The positives vastly outweigh any negatives. However, as regular and hopefully returning customers, we would note that the towels are of average quality and bath sheets really ought to be provided. The copper bottomed saucepans take an age to heat and as has been commented on in the visitors book, a 4 piece toaster should replace the existing one.
Please see these as constructive comments, designed to further improve the very good customer experience.

Comfortable Accommodation in a wonderful Location
We very much enjoyed our stay in Plumtrees and we would definitely book again, especially post-covid.
The reason I have only given 3 for cleanliness and customer service is that there was no way of knowing how clean the property was in covid terms. It had clearly been cleaned but what else had been done? Had all the surfaces in all the rooms been cleaned with an approved anti-viral cleaner? Ditto the handrail down the stairs, the door and window handles and the light switches? Had the house been thoroughly aired? As there was no mention of any of this on the website, or in the information we were sent, I contacted Norfolk Hideaways but they were no help. They just said: "all our cleaners know the protocols" but, as they do not publish those protocols, that was no help. As a result, we opened all doors, windows and skylights upon arrival for 30 minutes and we cleaned all of the above ourselves. It took us about an hour.
Plumtrees has some quirky design features, such as the light fitting in the Master Bedroom being a made from a dustbin and jam jars, but these do not detract from its comfort. It also has several low beams which is unexpected for a modern house, one towards the bottom of the main stairs and one in the en-suite bathroom. Being a tall male, I could not use the en-suite toilet but, as we had the whole house to ourselves, I used the family bathroom or downstairs toilet so it was not a problem.
The views from the Master bedroom are magnificent, both to the north (towards the sea) and the east (towards RSPB Titchwell). We spent many happy hours enjoying those views - the house is worth booking for them alone!
If I were to make one suggestion to improve the property it would be to upgrade the bed in the Master Bedroom from king (5ft wide) to super-king (6ft wide). There is more than enough room and it would be a major benefit.

Beautiful Accommodation in Stunning Setting
We really enjoyed our stay at Plumtrees. The accommodation is light and airy, spacious and very well equipped. The views are gorgeous; in a tranquil setting with unobstructed views across the salt marsh and out to see. A peaceful retreat, with a nice outdoor area for sitting outside. Plenty of parking for 2-3 vehicles. This cottage is in a perfect location, with some great places to dine out close by and well placed for exploring North Norfolk. I cannot fault this place, I am sure we will be back.

Lovely weekend at Plumbtrees.
We were very comfortable at Plumtrees, we are regular visitors to Thornham and our preferred location is the green with its views and rural tranquility. Very well planned spacious accommodation works well for people. Fortunately we 'crate" our small well behaved dog...otherwise the open plan nature could be challenging with a dog!
Kitchen is well equipped and the living area very comfortable. Rather a lot of labels/instructions everywhere would be my only criticism.
It was a lovely place to unite as a family possibly for a long time now with the pall of Corona Virus ahead.... who knows when we can all be together and as happy as that again.

We love Plumtrees!
Our 3rd family stay at Plumtrees in the lovely village of Thornham. Plumtrees is perfectly located with easy access to the marsh for walks and birdwatching and of course to the 3 pubs/restaurants/hotels and Thornham Deli. The house is comfortable and spacious with a really quirky master bedroom that offers great views across to RSPB Titchwell. Its open plan nature and associated summer room give lots of space for 2 families to spread out!
We would hope to return in the near future.
Note for Norfolk Hideaways - Only 1 toilet roll in the house on arrival? Not what we would expect.

Beautiful house in stunning location
No starter kit of tea/coffee/milk/logs. Crockery/utensils/cutlery really dirty (spatula looked used and put away with a lot of food on it). Dusty/dirty open shelves in kitchen. But, beautiful house and views, comfortable beds

Plumtrees Thornham
A beautiful house with the 'wow' factor. Fantastic views from the main bedroom, you can even see the sea! A great stay for a family or group of friends: open plan living room and kitchen allowed everyone to socialise. A fantastic garden room to enjoy too, full of light and sunshine. Great long walks to the beach and marshes from the house.
On the edge of the village but backing onto the road, however not very busy with traffic. Not recommended for pets and small children as the garden is not secure and the pond at the bottom of the garden would be a concern.
We will hopefully be back as we had an amazing week.

Value for money ?..........Mmmmm
Enjoyable holiday with family , assisted greatly by tremendous weather .
Plumtrees is a lovely extended Norfolk cottage in a prime position overlooking ‘ The Green ‘ , situation is rural and peaceful .
The cottage has an open plan layout to the ground floor and therefore feels quite spacious , the bedrooms are more than adequate . As a family of six we felt comfortable within the house .
There are obvious signs of this being a popular and well used let , couple of ‘ stains’ here and there on sofas, marks on carpets etc. a bath with a nonfunctional plug & a very temperamental power shower in the onsuite , but overall the house is standing up to the rigours of holiday families quite well .
Please bear in mind , the let is ‘ dog friendly ‘ , as long as you are able to prevent the animal from running up the stairs where there is a ‘ No dogs allowed ‘ sign . The garden also proved difficult , our dog was able to gain access to both the pond and the adjoining road so we had no choice but to keep him on a lead .
As the name of the property suggests there are plumtrees in the garden , this time of year they are a haven for wasps who have gorged themselves on the fruit . Venture anywhere in close proximity to said trees and the little blighters were only too keen to strike . Shame , as there was a lovely spot in the garden for BBQs , we attempted 2 but were driven inside by said wasps wanting a share of whatever was available . Oh the joys of an English Summer !

Location of house excellent with Sea View
We loved the position of the house and the views from it. Close to the Coastal Path.
It would have been nice to have had outside dining table & chairs provided in the lovely weather.
Kitchen was well equipped but all the bakeware needs changing.
