Great appartment

We (a family of 4) had a wonderful vacation in Molyvos and this great appartment. We enjoyed everything, the beautiful view, the terrace, the beaches and that shops and restaurants were in walking distance. We will return for sure .

Good location

We loved the location situated just below the castle in Molyvos. View was beautiful, property manager was helpful. As stated previously. not a property for you if you have limited mobility. The only reason I did not give 5 stars because the building itself outside furniture were in need of repairs.

A very comfortable house in a charming village

If you can do the walk to reach it, you will love this house. You will park in a lot and walk about 10 minutes uphill on cobblestone streets to the house. If you can handle that, you will find a very livable house with wonderful outside areas with great views of the village and the sea. The only time we found it a pain was hauling up suitcases. Within a 20 minute walk (downhill on the cobblestone streets), you will find dozens of nice restaurants, cafes, and bars. The nights at the house are marvelously quiet. The house itself is very pleasant with two nice bedrooms and two bedrooms. The only issue we had with the bathrooms was the extremely dim light bulbs - shaving or makeup is quite a challenge. The kitchen is adequately equipped for simple meals. Everything in the house was clean. We made good use of the provided clothes washer. Dina was very helpful in directing us to the house (you definitely will need help), showing us the house, and was available via text for any questions. We would certainly recommend this house and would stay again.

Excellent apartment in beautiful location

The apartment was even better than we imagined from the description on the website. Its is spacious, clean and homely. The panoramic views from the terrace are amazing! We enjoyed stunning sunsets whilst relaxing and eating-we even invited friends to a barbeque on the terrace. The sun loungers were an extra bonus! The apartment is well located in the village amongst the local villagers; it was very quiet whilst we were there. It is only a few minutes walk to the restaurants and centre of the village, five minutes to the beach. The lovely winding cobbled streets are very steep, but we didn't find this a problem; good for the calf muscles! We were met by the owner's son who was always available if we needed to contact him during our stay. We visited the owner's restaurant, Galliano, just outside the lovely harbour. The food there was excellent. We have been visiting Molivos for many years and can recommend this village as a piece of unspoilt Greece and this apartment is by far the best we have ever stayed in.

Just what we were hoping for

We were at Lana and Richard's apartment in Molivos in early May 2011, The weather was a bit mixed, but it was a great stay in all regards. The flat is large and well-appointed, (excellent kitchen, for instance) with a huge terrace, allowing lots of choice depending on winds, and preferences for shade or sun. We loved sitting out there watching the swifts zip around, and on a couple of days there was a small owl ensconced on a nearby chimney. Molivos is an appealing place -- just big enough to provide some variety in places to eat and drink. The wild flowers in the large field just beyond town (near the cemetary) were spectacular at the time we were there, and we also had a couple of lovely long walks in the other direction. We also enjoyed the day we drove around other parts of the island. Lana was still in England, but she was extremely helpful as far as getting us set up. Richard was just opening up the restaurant, so busy, but he was always there when we needed him, and we enjoyed visiting with him and learning more about the island on our visits to the restaurant (when he wasn't dashing between other tables!). Our holidays in Molivos

Last summer was our first time in Molivos and has been a perfect holiday. The apartment is very nice, large, clean, with every confort; unforgottable is the enormous balcony where is amazing to stay and enjoy the the landscape of the gulf and the sunset. We loved to stay there also at night. The atmosphere is great and the place is very quiet. The apartment is in the middle of the village, so everything (shops, restaurants) is easily reachable, also the beach with the amazing sea. The owners, Lana, Richard and their family are always ready to help even if they are really busy with theyr Italian Restaurant, Galliano, ,which, by the way, is really good and the pizza is great! (We are italians!).We had a wonderful time and now a great memory, hoping to return there in the future.

Fabulous apartment in Molivos, Lesvos, Greece !!

This apartment is fantastic! It is simply not possible to capture in pictures. Excellent location in the center of the village, close to bakery, shops, cafes & restaurants, ATMs, beach (5 minute walk). The apartment feels very spacious with big windows and lots of light. The wrap-around porch is great -- you can choose to be in the sun or shade and there is a great table for eating outdoors. The porch and the thick walls keep the apartment nice and cool. The bedrooms are nice sized and there is a private bath with shower in each bedroom. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking in. The washing machine is a super amenity and there is a clothesline and rack for drying outside. It is quiet and private and super clean. The VIEWS are incredible from the porch. Lush plants on the porch add to the exotic feeling. Lana and Richard are great hosts. Lana had fresh croissants, bread, fruits, and red & white wine -- what a lovely welcome for us! They are friendly and helpful, but never intrusive. Richard's sons took our daughter out for drinks and dancing with their friends. Be sure to visit their restaurant, Galiano's -- great pizza & pasta. We also enjoyed fish at the Eftalou restaurant and The Captain's Table. Our favorite food find was Friend's gyros pitas on the main street. These are pita sandwiches with your choice of filling plus tzatziki, lettuce, tomatoes,and french fries for only 2.5 euro. Molivos is a lovely village, very safe! We walked everywhere (you don't need a car here) and were not worried about our daughter when she was out. Plenty of shopping and food and beach activity, and easy to rent a car or motor bike if you want to explore elsewhere on the island -- we chose not to because we were perfectly contented in our fabulous apartment in Molivas. We did take a taxi to Eftalou and recommend both the restaurant (fish!!) and Elleni's Workship for beautiful hand-made olive wood products. Be warned -- Molivos is hilly and you will enjoy a great workout for your legs! Wherever you go (except the castle) it is uphill back to the apartment. We highly recommend this island, this village, and most of all, this apartment. Many thanks to Lana & Richard for providing such a wonderful holiday accommodation!

Great Apartment

Wonderful accommodation! The website is very accurate but does not do the accommodation justice. This was our first visit to Molyvos. We have never stayed anywhere so special. The house sits in the heart of the village with fantastic views from the terrace. The accommodation is only a few minutes walk away from the local food shops, butchers, bakery, post office, pharmacy and a large selection of eating-places. The harbour is a 15-minute walk away and the castle a breathless 10-15 minute climb to the top of the village, but once there the views are stunning. The village beach and swimming pool is a 5-minute walk, with the car park and bus stop being about the same distance. If you hire a car, parking may be a small problem, as you cannot park close to the house. This accommodation is for the fit and mobile as you really do need to be able bodied when considering staying here, as you will need to carry your suitcases up the hill and negotiate stone steps. The short (but steep and good for the legs) climb up the hill is well worth it for the spectacular views from the terrace (the word balcony doesn't do it justice). You have everything you need and Richard and Lana are on hand if you need them, but totally discreet. In short, we had a wonderful holiday and would highly recommend the accommodation. The perfect getaway!

My partner and I have been going to Molivos since the 80's and have stayed in many different houses and apartments around the village but this was the first time at this particular property and we were very pleased, to the point that we have already rebooked for next year, which is the best endorsement you can give really! Lana and Richard were welcoming and helpful but entirely unobtrusive. The apartment was clean and well stocked. There were lots towels, extra bedding and the washing machine was a very useful addition. There was plenty of pressure in the taps but hot water was somewhat hit and miss as it depended on what time of day you tried to use it. The kitchen had a good quantity of plates & pots and pans but we did have to rewash everything before using it first time. The addition of a wireless network was extremely useful for us. One of it's best features is it's spacious outdoor space. There is shade when you want it, a table which easily sits 6 to 8, sun loungers and a BBQ. We entertained local friends on several occasions and we always sat out on the terrace enjoying the peace (non of that intrusive buzzing of over burdened moped engines you often get in Greece) and those to-die-for views. As cat lovers & owners we also enjoyed occasional feline visitors to the terrace and they certainly enhanced our enjoyment of the space. It is also convenient as the house sits in the heart of the village & so it's only a few minutes walk to the local food shops, butchers, bakery, post office, pharmacy and a large selection of taverna's. The harbour is a 15 minute walk away and the castle a breathless 10 minute climb to the top of the village, but it's absolutely worth the trip. The village beach is a 5 minute walk, with the car park and bus stop being about the same distance. One thing I would note is that you cannot park close to the house and there is poor access for those with limited mobility so you really do need to be able bodied & fit when considering staying here (even when it comes to dragging your suitcases up that hill and negotiating those stone steps). Overall it is a great place to stay if you want to feel a part of village life. It is spacious and peaceful and yet close enough to all amenities for it to be convenient for everything. What a holiday. We absolutely loved this property. Absolutely fantastic views. So peaceful. It was hard to leave the balcony each day it was so beautiful sitting there.There are few places we would visit again but this is one of them!

Wow what a place to stay

We have just returned to England after spendng two weeks in Lesvos. The first week we stayed in Lana and Richards apartment which was absolutely wonderful, everything provided that we could possibly need and the welcome pack of milk, wine and fruit was much appreciated. The views from the terrace were breath taking (if you think the pictures on the web site are good, just wait until you see the real thing). We have never had such a relaxing week, it was like time stood still. Lana and Richard were very helpful but never intrusive - the perfect hosts. Molyvos must be one of the most enchanting places in the World - and that is no exaggeration at all. We loved walking round the cobbled streets looking at the shops and walking down to the most picturesque harbour we have ever visited. Shopping was such fun as well, there are no supermarkets just little mini markets that all sell something different, fresh meat can be bought from the butchers and the quality is superb. There are loads of restaurants in Molyvos but we unanimously agreed that the best was undoubtedly Lana and Richards Galliano's, we all thought Richards cooking was amazing (and Toria especially loved his spicey chicken wings). We will undoubtedly return to Molyvos and we will definitely book to stay in Lana and Richards apartment again. Thank you Lana, Richard and Claudia for a wonderful and memorable holiday.

Great accomodation in a great place

Very clean, comfortable and well-equipped appartment with a great view and easy access from the main road (for Molyvos standards). In terms of space, we (4 adults and one child) felt like there was always some spare room for more guests. Easy access to bread, fruits and basic drinks, some minutes away from the shopping area and from the fisherman who's selling his fresh harvest every morning at 8 o'clock. Lana & Richard were very helpful and gave us some valuable tips from the very first day. For Molyvos, this accomodation will be our first choice always.

A lovely apartment with amazing views

I stayed in this apartment for a week with my sister and, apart from the weather (we had 3 cloudy days) everything was perfect. The apartment is very comfortable and is in a very quiet position with amazing views over the mountains and the sea. A wonderful spot to sit in the evening with a glass of wine! Lana and Richard are both very friendly and helpful and their restaurant is very good. We will definately visit again and would recommend it to anyone.

A real holiday

We have just returned from a real holiday in Richard and Lana's apartment--that is, we managed to totally relax, slow down, and pass the entire day just having breakfast on the terrace, going to the beach in the afternoon when it got a bit less hot, returning for sunset and a drink on the terrace again (need to get back by 7.30 p.m. to see it) then think about which cobbled street to stroll down to the harbour for dinner. We have children aged 16, 12 and 4 so quite a wide range of needs to cater for and this was perfect for everyone. Richard and Lana are kind, generous and tolerant (our children squabble--well, fight-- and they live upstairs so I'm sure we disturbed them but they were completely charming). I can't stop thinking about our holiday and we'll definitely return. The flat is well-laid out, smart, comfortable, everything works, and the views from the terrace really are incredible and made us all feel quite awe-struck. Thank you so much. The only jarring note was that shops in Molivos are very expensive, the food prices make self-catering something of a struggle, but Richard had a solution which we'll take up next year. Wonderful accommodation! The website is accurate but understated. This was our fourth visit to Molyvos and we've never stayed anywhere as special - the short ( but steep and good for the legs) climb up the hill is well worth it for the spectactular views from the terrace ( the word balcony doesn't do it justice). You have everything you need and Lana and her family are on hand if you need them, but totally discreet. In short, I couldn't recommend the place highly enough!

A Week in Molivos

We stayed at the apartment mid July for a week. The pictures of the property on the website, really don't do it justice. The terrace gets the sunshine all day long and also offers shade. It was really beautiful to sit and eat outside in the morning and early evening. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything that we needed and the whole property was immaculate. There was air con, but we never felt the need to put it on. Upon arrival there was a welcome food parcel of basics such as milk, bread, wine, coffee and fruit. The owners arranged a taxi to collect us from the airport and take us back at the end of the holiday which cost 60 euro each way. As the owners lived upstairs they were around should we have needed anything, but at the same time they were very discreet and we completely forgot they were there! I would definately recommend this apartment.

My stay in Lana's apartment

.I loved the location of this private apartment which was situated within minutes of the main shopping street, but was still very quiet, and the views were some of the best I have ever seen in Molyvos. I thought that the apartment was designed to a high standard with a new and modern kitchen and a bonus of both bedrooms having en suite facilities. We found the place was very clean and we appreciated the complimentary wine, fruit and bread on arrival. Thank you and we will be back.
