Pure luxury!!

We stayed here for a month and a half and it was amazing!! The landlords John and Michelle are the best! Michelle is so sweet and attentive to are needs and John is very helpful and handy!!!! Everything about our stay was luxurious!!

Great hospitality with our rental

We could not be more pleased with the hospitality shown by the property owners or the quality of the property during our stay. The attentiveness of the owners to making this a pleasurable stay was beyond our expectations. From the day one review of the property until our final departure any and all questions were answered promptly and the guys who stayed appreciated the sincere support and the interactions during the stay. Coming from Germany for this type of extended stay when completing projects is never easy. Michelle and John made the stay as close to a feeling of being with friends on vacation as is possible while making them feel welcomed in our country. My only challenge now is to match this in all future project rentals. Thanks again to Michelle and John and we hope to have the opportunity of renting from you in the future. Steve

FANTABULOUS!!

We had a family gathering for one week. There were 12 of us from different parts of the country. Weather was great. It was a fantastic vacation ... all of us being together in such a beautiful setting. The house is located in a beautiful gated community. There is plenty of sight seeing to do in the area. Or you can do like we did ... for the most part we stayed on the property. With the large house, the pool, the hot tub, the waterfalls, trampoline and more we didn't find it necessary to go anywhere for our entertainment. We went to the beach one day (about 30 mins from the house) and to the USS Midway Museum. The rest of the time we stayed home and enjoyed each other's company and the beautiful setting that we were in. Can't wait till we can go back again! Thank you John and Michelle!

Family Vacation

Beautiful home, with plenty of room space to accommodate our big family we had all the amenities that were needed at our disposal, the pool and spa were at a perfect temperature upon our arrival the owners of the property were very accommodating.we were never bothered by the owners even though they were close by, they sat back and let us enjoy there home We all enjoyed going to the beach and coming home to a little paradise it was like a beach of our own with out the sand I would highly recommend this vacation home and hope to return some day.

Great pool and yard

Our party of 13 extended family vacation was quite comfortable in this spacious home. We swam daily and loved the pool and pool grounds. The pool really is as good as it looks. We loved jumping off the cliff and the waterfall. It was clean and beautiful. The a/c went out making it quite warm upstairs at night but we made do. The owners were friendly and acquainted us to everything we needed in the house. Despite being outside of San Diego proper, we found the commute to attractions reasonable and easy.

Fantastic Family Vacation Rental

Pictures tell the story of this property. House is spacious and very comfortable for small or larger groups. Kitchen is well stocked and having towels provided for backyard pool or trips to beach was very convenient. This was actually our family's first vacation using VRBO or any other rental site as we typically stayed in resorts. We could not have had a better first experience than staying at this Tropical Paradise. The pool, hot tub, trampoline and general landscaping were amazing and provided our family a lot of great memories. Overall though it is Michelle and John that make this a must rent. They are very attentive to needs of their guests and really get satisfaction by allowing other family's to enjoy the paradise they have built.

Perfect choice for us!

I took a group of 4 adults and 4 children ranging from 18 months to 8 years to San Diego for mid winter break. We're from Washington state and it has done nothing but rain for eons it seems. The house was a perfect fit with the four bedrooms and three baths upstairs and one bath downstairs. The kiddos absolutely loved their time in the pool, it couldn't have been a more perfect fit for us as far as location too. It was about 45 minutes or so to all the places we went. Mission San Luis Rey, Seaward, Legoland, Wildlife Safari, and the San Diego Zoo. The house is warm, inviting and comfortable. John and Michelle were more than delightful in every aspect. They are gracious, welcoming and were easy to talk with about how to manage the house and make sure the pool and spa were ready to use whenever we wanted them. I would recommend their house to any family group that wants a central location, a place to fix some meals, have laundry facilities available (means less clothing to pack), and really just want to relax and enjoy themselves. Thank you John and Michelle for helping us have a wonderful vacation.

Great stay

We had 4 adults & 4 children ages 6 mo.- 10yrs. We all had plenty of room and were well taken care of by John & Michelle. The home is large with plenty of bathrooms & space to stretch out. The house is in a great neighborhood with short drives to everything we were there to see. By far, the best part of the home is their pool area. Our kids couldn't spend enough time in the pool/hot tub. We cooked, hung out, and enjoyed the sunny weather and Michelle made sure all our needs were met, and then some. For those of you curious about the owners being on the property don't worry they couldn't be nicer & you never know their around unless you need something. Overall a great trip and a great property to stay in. Thanks again to John & Michelle for opening their home to us, we had a great time.

Excellent home for a family reunion!

There were 6 adults & 8 children (ranging in age from 12 to 2) in our group. The home had plenty of room for all (very comfy beds) & so much to do right there on the property without even leaving to explore San Diego. A fantastic pool area, in-ground trampoline, pool table, legos & train tracks galore, and a huge aquarium that kept the kiddos mesmerized all day! The pool, of course, is the main attraction. Everyone in our group enjoyed it immensely-diving, racing in the kayak, swimming until they were water-logged and just playing in the kiddie area with little pool toys. John and Michele were excellent hosts and made sure that we had the best of times while we there!

Perfect Family Reunion Choice

What a fabulous property to reconnect with family! Our four siblings and spouses meet annually, and this house was absolutely the best choice ever. Comfortable, cozy home inside. Unbelievable resort atmosphere outdoors. The pool made us feel (and act) like kids again. Great proximity to San Diego attractions. The onsite owners, John and Michelle, were an absolute delight, and made us feel comfortable.

Big house good for large group with older kids

Big house - good for large groups. The pool is nice...on the back of house so it doesn't warm up until later in day. Be careful at the top of waterfall a big chunk is missing and there is rebar sticking out. Travel to or from the zoo - Sea World - beach - downtown... Monday - Friday 9am to 3:30pm and its a 25 minute drive any other time and all day on weekends plan for at least 45 minutes each way. There is a supermarket nearby. No good little places to eat like at the beach or downtown. Lots of 7-11's, Denny's, Ihop's and the like. The lower level of house is windows on 3 sides...the pool is out back french doors...no gate so keep an eye on younger kids. On backside of pool is an open lot that the whole community uses as a cut through. People jogging, walking dogs or just going to neighbors pretty much all day. When you are in pool or spa they don't see you when you are standing or in the house on main floor they see everything...so do not take off swim suits outside or the neighbors will see your bare behind. Owners stay in garage which has a door on one side, small laundry room in middle, then a door to the house..jack and jill style. Garage side is always closed - keep house side closed or you can hear a loud fan, tv and talking. There is a mouse in the kitchen that scurries about - last day we found a secret pantry door behind garbage cabinet with a lots of droppings and a trap so we know the owners are taking care of this. Stove is awesome. Owners need to be home to turn on spa for you and they have jobs so you need to tell them the night before what your plans are for next day...we didn't because we were on vacation and didn't know our plans so we didn't get to use spa much..owner popped up one night when we were in...kind of awkward but he is very nice...he kept calling me the wrong name even though I text him with it almost daily which we got a chuckle out of. Michelle is the one who answers your messages...she gets back to you quickly. She was on a trip of her own and returned the night before we left but she was so kind. There were only 3 of us and we like to have nice restaurants and be able to get to things quickly, as well as having privacy so this wasn't the right fit for us. We still had an amazing vacation doing fun things. If you are a large group with older kids I think this house would be good for you.

Amazing back yard and incredible house. The yard is unbelievable like a resort

We had the time of our lives in beautiful San Diego and this home was perfect, comfortable, and beautiful in every way. We honestly didn't want to leave. We just wanted to sit in the pool and hot tub all day. The water falls were so beautiful and the entire landscape was out of this world. The home inside was in real also with a master that was bright and huge. The decor and furniture was also perfect. I will never think of another place when I go to San Diego. I don't believe that any other place would compare we all loved it and had a blast

The perfect place for our family vacation!

We could not have been more pleased with our choice to book this home for our family vacation! We travelled with our family and another family of four and a nanny, with a total of five adults and four children ages 5 and under. The house was very clean and equipped with many items we were able to use (ex. boogie boards, beach buckets, pack n play, etc.). The pool and trampoline kept the kids entertained any time we were home. The sleeping arrangements were also quite nice, with an exceptionally large master bedroom that included a crib (in a separate area in the room, which was nice!) The large, comfortable living area was also a nice perk. Michelle and John were very welcoming and helpful, and never intruded on our stay. They were immediatly responsive to any questions and very helpful and kind. When go back to San Diego, we will be booking this fabulous El Cajon house again!

Beautiful Property, Amazing Pool, and Great Views!!!

My family and I definitely enjoyed our stay. Michelle and John were amazing. They were so friendly, accommodating, and were literally only a text or phone call away. The house is absolutely gorgeous. It's big and roomy, but the best part of the house for us was the master bedroom. It was my wedding weekend and the master bedroom was the perfect place for my bridesmaids and myself to get ready. I couldn't recommend this vacation home enough. The kids absolutely loved the pool! They practically lived in it the whole weekend! The adults were in the hot tub every night! We had 13-14 people staying in the house and there was plenty of room! I loved my stay here and so did the rest of my family. It was a truly perfect wedding weekend!

The pool was the highlight of our stay. Beautiful and clean. I have never seen a pool like this

The home was in good order and there were many commodities available that would not be in a normal rental. The spacious family room was able to house our whole family of 13. This was to be a one time event but I am considering bring the family together again next year.

Beautiful stay!!!

We went for our annual family get together. Rented this home for 4 days. What a gorgeous house and wonderful place!!! The pool was even better than the pictures. Kitchen and outdoor grill with dining area was perfect. John and Michelle were very helpful and kind! Would completely stay again!!!

An Absolutely Perfect Family Vacation!

I don't know how it is possible to stop at 5 stars! When we arrived we were greeted with Michelle's beautiful and inviting smile, making sure we had everything we needed and showing us all the amenities! The home is Large, clean and had a beautiful feel to it! We had a large group and the house felt very comfortable and functioned perfectly, exceeding all our expectations and needs! The children and adults alike spent as much time as possible in the pool, up at the trampoline and playing pool. When we were at the beach I over heard one child say "I want to go back home and swim in the pool". It really did feel like home!!! The table area accommodated most of us with the bar fitting the remaining; it made our family dinners so perfect! We used the beautiful outdoor BBQ area a lot and it made for a few fun back yard night parties. John even came over one night and set up a karaoke night for us with all the bells and whistles, we had a blast!! I have said since leaving that if I had to imagine the perfect vacation and the perfect place to stay this would be what I pictured! Thanks Michelle and John for this wonderful experience; we definitely now feel like we have two amazing friends in San Diego and we cant wait to see you next year!!

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!

The only hesitation I have on giving this place 5 stars is that it will not be available when we return because people will realize what a gem it is!! We had a total of 14 in our party, two small kids, 4 teenagers and 8 adults. This place was perfect for all ages! The only regret I have is that we did not have more down time to stay at the house and enjoy the pool more. My kids said they would have gladly given up the San Diego zoo to just play in the pool at the house. Now that's worth more than 5 stars!! The place was very clean and inviting. Michelle and John are on the property, but you would not know it unless you needed something. The house is roomy and beds are very comfortable. The backyard is just absolutely awesome! This was our first time to stay in a VRBO and I am not sure we will be able to find a place as fantastic as this place somewhere else. Thank you Michelle and John, you have a beautiful home and so appreciative you make it available for others to enjoy as well.

Perfect Getaway. This pool is amazing!!!

I wanted to take a few seconds and write of our recent stay last month at this amazing home. Last second we decided to cancel our original plans of staying in a hotel and found this gem instead. Us and one other family stayed here. We had 4 adults & 8 children with us.... The kids were in heaven from the moment we got there. The swimming pool and backyard was hands down one of the best ones we have ever had the privilege of using while on vacation. In fact, the first day we were there it was raining like cats & dogs but because it was still so warm, the kids played in the pool from 8am until 3pm. The waterfall diving platforms were there favorite part. With more than enough room to spread out and relax, each room was equipped with its very own TV so the kids could relax and watch a movie every night. We used the large built in BBQ Grill twice while we were there as we relaxed around the pool. The home is close to everything and within 15 minutes or so to downtown San Diego. I would highly recommend this place above many that I have stayed at. The owners are always close by and there to help answer any questions or resolve any issues. They were fantastic and very nice our entire stay. We will be going back for sure.

Amazing Retreat Home / Private Reort - Just 15-20 minutes from downtown SD...

Location: It's actually a great location - only 15+ minutes from downtown SD. Perfect to stay away from all the "hoopla" yet still within civilization! Also, it's in a gated community and felt very safe, and was quiet. Just minutes away from supermarkets/restaurants too. Also - Uber/Lyft were easily able to pick us up with no issues. They just need the code to get in. The House: The house is big and very roomy. It is also well kept. It has this warm vibe too - like being at your Aunt's house. It really works as a family retreat home! In my case, it was a perfect home for 10 guys out in SD for a golf and beer festival retreat! The kitchen is huge and the dining table is great for a Thanksgiving dining experience. We even got access to various items in the cupboard/pantry. The Media Center is awesome! We almost didn't want to leave the house because of the TV/Media/ Audio Center. We had access to cable, surround sound, blu-ray movies and digital movies as well. And the pool table was just behind the sofas. This couldn't have been better for a group of mature (30-something) guys (a mix of dads/husbands/singles) who love to drink! The Pool/Jacuzzi/Backyard was awesome too! The Owners custom built a waterfall which is about 12+ feet above the water. Jumping off was quite scary and fun! Completely safe too as the water depth was well over 10+ feet I believe. Going up past the waterfall they have a really cool setup where you can hang out at the top of the hill with beautiful views or you can walk further away from that and jump on a built-in trampoline! The Homeowners: Michelle and John were great! Michelle is lovely and has this warm personality that reminds me of an Aunt. She was very responsive and allowed us our privacy during our stay. Michelle and John live on the property but on an attached yet partitioned casita. There was no problem with this at all as they gave us our space and privacy. She actually would knock or call me to let me know she needed to come in to feed the fish tank. Every morning, John would get up to clean the pool. Both were great hosts and really gave us the full scoop on the property amenities. Thanks again to Michelle and John! You guys have a fantastic getaway home and you both are great hosts! If you want to visit SD but don't want to be in the city, then this is the perfect home for you! If you want a private resort all to yourselves, then this is the home for you! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOUSE!

Excellent for big groups and families!

We stayed here for my husband's birthday weekend and it was AMAZING! Michelle was very accomodating and was there on premise for anything we needed. Everyone was very comfortable and happy with the property. We will definitely come again for another stay. Thank you so much for an awesome weekend!

My husband and I met at BYU and have been happily married 38 yrs. We have 8 children and 8 grandchildren. I teach an early morning Seminary class to teenagers every school morning and assist in my husband's Holistic Metabolic Center. I love music, to read, swim, design allergy-free meals for our family, dejunk, organize and to play with my grandchildren. John loves caring for his patients, hiking with our kids, and fixing & creating beautiful things. In 1991, he began an addition to our house, which almost doubled the size of our home. He enjoyed that so much, that in 2001, he began building our gorgeous pool and tropical landscaping.

We decided to buy a home in East County, because we wanted a house with a bit of property on it so that there would be plenty of room for a large family. My husband told me when he asked me to marry him that he wanted a dozen kids, and I was crazy enough to say yes! :} (Stopping with 8 was ok, though) He went to 4 different High Schools when he was growing up, so he wanted to buy a home where our children could stay until they graduated. This home was perfect for our growing family! The addition and the pool have made it the center for many of our children's friends and activities. They loved to invite their friends over to play pool, BBQ, jump on the trampoline, swim, or watch movies on our big screen TV

Now, almost all of our children are married or have gone to college, and we find that we are rattling around this big house and that our dining table has too many empty chairs. We began listing with "airbnb" a little while ago, and really enjoyed meeting so many truly wonderful people! We are excited to offer our house now on VRBO.

Our beautiful, tropical, resort-like back yard is the crowning glory of our property. My husband truly designed a paradise! There are so many different ways to enjoy yourself: picking fresh grapefruit, tangerines, apricots, or avocados when in season from our small orchard, jumping on the trampoline, reading a book or gazing down at the pool from our swing under a palapa, diving into the pool from our 13 foot waterfall, cooking dinner on the BBQ, tanning on the lounges, and swimming laps or just splashing with your kids in the pool. We have even had guests bring their computers out to the picnic table to finish a big work project, for the wi-fi is really strong there. One family with 5 kids would be out in the pool by 7:00 am every morning! They adored swimming in our 80*F pool (the temperature of the pool is usually 80* by mid-June).

When the house is rented a caretaker or myself will stay in the attached flat to be available for questions or any issues that might come up (that area is not pictured or included in the bedroom and bath count). There are a lot of moving parts to running the pool & spa, landscaping and other equipment for such a large property and we want your time to be as enjoyable as reasonably possible, so we will make ourselves available for questions and assistance as needed.

This home is really nice, very comfortable, clean, and feels much like a beautiful resort with
palm trees, ample windows & sliders to the outdoors. It can accommodate larger groups, however being in the middle of a quiet residential area, isn't suitable for large parties or loud outdoor music. Consideration of the neighbors and respectful use of the home is expected and greatly appreciated!
