My husband and I travelled with another couple and a single friend to Bruges and stayed in the 'Onze-Lieve-Vrouw' apartment at De Drie Koningen. I had chosen this lodging for our party and they told me over and over during our stay how well I had done selecting this particular place. While it is located down a side street, it is a very, very short walk to the square and on your way to the square there's a coffee bar, several nice restaurants, and even an Irish pub. The apartment itself was very nice. There are some steep steps leading up to it, so if you have mobility issues that might be a problem. When you enter the apartment there is one bedroom immediately on the left. It has a nice, large bed and French doors onto the patio. As you pass by that bedroom you come into an open, spacious living room with a high ceiling and big windows. There's a large sectional, TV, and also a large dining table. On the same floor is the small kitchen. It's not really a "cook's kltchen" and is more for breakfast, quick snacks, and warming up restaurant leftovers in the microwave. Big frig. Suited us perfectly. Between the living room and the kitchen is a small toilet room. There are steep steps leading up to the other two bedrooms and both wash rooms. Our single friend stayed in the room with the two twin beds. My husband and I stayed in the room with the queen-size bed. It has a really high ceiling with battens. There is an adjoining room with a large tub and two sinks, but no toilet. In the area between the two bedrooms in another little toilet room and separately a room with a shower and two sinks. Since we had the room with the bathtub and we're not tub people, we just kept all of our toiletries in the washroom that adjoined our room and just showered in the other room and came back to ours to shave, dry our hair, or whatever. Would have been great to have a toilet, too, but it was fine. Nice, modern, and clean facilities. Our bedroom wasn't well insulated and we could hear every word going on downstairs. Again, it wasn't a problem, but thought light sleepers would want to know that. The owner, Nico, was a really nice guy. He's done so many unique things with the place. The iPad that comes with the rental is full of handy travel info and restaurant recommendations. We took advantage of the "honor bar" in the lobby and that was really convenient. What a great idea, too. Very handy paying with Paypal. Vastly superior to staying in a plain old hotel
