I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at Knockinaam House, and am disappointed that you did not mention any of your complaints when Hugh and I visited to check that everything was ok. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I feel you have been unkind in describing my house as 'having been allowed to go to seed' as this phrase would imply it was dirty, untidy and uncared for which is certainly not the case. It has never been marketed as 5 Star, but has BEEN REVIEWED as 5 star by previous guests. I do believe that you found a smudge of lipstick or finger prints on some glassware as there are about 50 glasses (recommendation 24 ) along with a good selection of pots, pans, trays (10 trays -recommendation 2) and crockery and they are not all individually checked each week - just a quick look. There is a good selection of utensils (ie garlic press, sieve, rolling pin, grater,tin foil) - most of which are in the drawer below cutlery drawer which I presume you did not find . I only leave a small selection on the worktop in a jar (which can be added to by guests depending on their everyday needs) and knives in a knife block. I have received many glowing and positive reviews posted over the past few months on another travel site, extracts of which are quoted below which all suggest the property is clean, tidy and well equipped:- We spent a fabulous week at Knockinaam House. The house itself is spacious and very well appointed. (31st August 2019) Wonderful 5-star home near Portpatrick. Perfect views and a modern, warm spacious property. Loved every minute of our stay and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a luxury coastal stay. (21st August 2019) Knockinaam house is a fantastic spacious house with a modern quality beautiful interior. (12th July 2019) knockinaam house is my best rented holiday accommodation to date so welcoming to come back to each day,so thanks very much. (6th June 2019) This house couldn't be improved upon! Equipped with everything guests could want, and more. Set in spectacular countryside near to the picturesque village of Portpatrick, ...... it was a delightful break for our family. The house is spotlessly clean, well equipped and welcoming. I would like to mention that this year I have upgraded en-suite bedroom with new king sized bed, lamps & linen, also new garden furniture and new kitchen table & chairs P.S. I have sorted the pot hole at the bottom of the road
