Ich war 2012 in Bagnolo im Urlaub und verliebte mich in die Einfachheit des Dorfes, die Schönheit der Gegend und die echte, diskrete Freundlichkeit der Menschen. Bagnolo ist ein einfaches Arbeiterdorf im fruchtbaren Salento von Apulien; Profitieren Sie von einer handwerklichen Patisserie / Eisdiele, einem sehr guten Restaurant, Pizzerien, einfachen Bars, einem Fischhändler, Metzger, zwei Supermärkten und einer Apotheke. Die Qualität und der Preis des Essens ist erstaunlich, wo immer Sie hingehen. Im Juli und August finden jeden Abend Konzerte, religiöse, kulturelle und gastronomische Feste in der Region statt. In zwei Wochen ist es nicht schwer jeden Tag einen anderen Strand innerhalb von 30 Minuten zu erreichen, der nächste ist nur 10-15 Minuten entfernt.

Das Haus von Alex war persönlich eingerichtet nicht die übliche Ikea Norm Möblierung. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.Einzig die Beleuchtung in den Räumen wäre verbesserungsfähig ( vernünftige Nachttischlampen zum lesen zb )

Perfektes Haus für den Individualurlaub der Familie

Was für tolles Haus für den Urlaub mit der Familie! Wir waren zu viert da; aber auch für sechs Personen ist bestens Platz. Die Lage mitten im Städtchen hat sehr viel Charme; die Nächte auf der Dachterrasse sind magisch. Die Ausstattung erfüllt in jeder Hinsicht der Erwartungen und übertrifft sie in vielen Bereichen. Wichtig im Sommer mit bis zu 42 Grad ist auch, dass tatsächlich alle Räume (außer das Bad) separat klimatisierbar sind. Das erhöht das Wohlbefinden und schafft die Chance, unnötigen Energieverbrauch zu vermeiden. Der Kontakt mit dem Vermieter Alex war immer gut und schnell, sehr informativ und sehr nett. Vielen Dank!

Wondeful place, perefect host

We, two adults and three kids, had a wonderful time at an authentic and well maintained house. If you are looking for a real South-Italian village (church, two coffee bars, everything for daily life in walking distance, nobody speaking English:)), if you still want to explore superb beaches (just 15 MIn by car) and the entire Apulia-region, this is the place to stay. Alex is a very mindful and attentive host, easy to communicate with and most helpful. I highly recommend this place!!

Inmitten des Salento: Ruhe, Erholung, Ursprünglichkeit und luxuriöser Chrame - Extraklasse!

Wir waren 10 Tage in diesem wunderschönen Haus in Bagnolo del Salento - allein der Ortsname erweckte bei uns Träume - und so war auch der Urlaub - traumhaft schön! Das Haus ist sehr gut eingerichet, die Betten sehr bequem, die Küche sehr großzügig zum Kochen, die Dachterrasse sehr schön um Abends den Sternenhimmel über dem Dorf zu geniessen, das Restaurant um die (Haus-)Ecke von bester Qualität. Hervorzuheben ist die schnelle und reibungslose Kommunikation mit Alex, dem Besitzer - er hat uns zahlreiche Tips gegeben und auch zu einem lokalen Kochkurs verholfen, der sehr gut war. Schöne Strände wie die Baia Turqua sind in 20 Min. zu erreichen, ebenso Otranto, Galatina - es wird einem garantiert nicht langweilig und Bagnolo war unser Ruhepol. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder! Vielen Dank für Alles, mille Grazie :-)

Exclusiv wohnen mitten im Salento

Alex ist ein hervorragender Gastgeber. Die K ommunikation mit ihm funktionierte zu jeder Zeit hervorragend. Die Bilder des Inserates entsprechen genau der Realität. Wir betraten das Haus und fühlten uns sofort zu Hause, sehr geschmackvoll und liebevoll bis ins Detail. Erwähnenswert erscheint uns noch die unglaubliche Hilfsbereitschaft und Freundlichkeit der Menschen im BdS. Wir können die Unterkunft zu 100 Prozent weiterempfehlen. Wunderschöne Wochen in Bagnolo del Salento

Wir verbrachten zu viert 2 Wochen in der Ferienwohnung von Alex Di Re in Bagnolo. Schon im Vorfeld hat uns Alex mit allen nötigen Informationen versorgt und darüber hinaus mit vielen interessanten Zusatzinformationen für unseren Urlaub . Die Wohnung selbst ist sehr schön hergerichtet, so wie in der Beschreibung, die Fotos geben einen sehr guten Überblick über die Wohnsituation vor Ort. Die Lage der Wohnung innerhalb Bagnolos ist ideal. Direkt neben der Kirche liegend, erreicht man innerhalb von 2 Minuten eine sehr sympatische Bar (für ein italienisches Frühstück oder auch abends für einen Aperetiv), einen kleinen Supermarkt, die Restaurants (Tipp: Restaurant TOTO, 50 Meter, gleich um die Ecke). Bagnolo selbst liegt etwa 15 Minuten mit dem Auto vom Meer, d.h. man braucht zwar immer das Auto um dort hin zu kommen, den großen Touristenströmen entgeht man aber komplett, was wir als sehr angenehm empfunden haben, zumal die Leute in Bagnolo sehr freundlich und ausgesprochen hilfsbereit sind. Etwas italienisch ist allerdings von Vorteil. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und uns sehr schnell heimisch gefühlt. Die Kommunikation mit Alex während des Aufenthalts, falls nötig, war sehr schnell, unkompliziert und immer mit einem Schuss Humor. Wir können die Wohnung und auch alles andere sofort bedingungslos weiterempfehlen.

Maison magnifique, située dans une petite rue piétonne très bucolique. L’arrivée autonome est super facile. En entrant, on découvre un patio plein de charme. La cuisine est entièrement équipée avec tout ce dont nous avions besoin avec lave-vaisselle (très apprécié en vacances) et la maison est spacieuse.Chambres confortables et salle de bain spacieuse et pleine de charme.machine à lessive très pratique, et une belle terrasse sur le toit avec une table ronde en mosaïque ideal pour la fin de journée. Petite ville idéale pour découvrir tout le sud des Pouilles.

Bellissimo. Tutto perfetto!

In questa estate di covid-19 siamo stati i primi ospiti italiani in un appartamento che di solito viene dato in affitto a inglesi. Appartamento con una sua personalità, l'arredamento è curato e personalizzato (no ikea finalmente!!), tante stanze, una corte interna una terrazza dove è possibile mangiare alla sera con vista sui tetti e sulla chiesa del paese. Ottima assistenza di Alex prima e durante il soggiorno, con consigli su dove mangiare, sulle migliori spiagge da vedere nelle vicinanze. Posizione fantastica per le spiagge di sabbia e di roccia (15 minuti la bella spiaggia di sabbia di Alimini) e per Otranto (25 minuti). Uno dei migliori appartamenti nei quali abbiamo soggiornato in Puglia in uno dei paesini più piccoli e molto accoglienti. Un gioiellino. Ci torneremo. Bravo Alex!

Great place to stay

We had a wonderful week with fabulous weather. The property was perfect, hidden behind a little piazza and within a short walk of all the amenities. It was a great base for the area and the local beaches and towns were fascinating with wonderful food. We would highly recommend both the area and the property. Love it

We fell in love with Bagnolo from the first moment when we arrived to the main piazza.It has the magic calming atmosphere. There is everything what you need:small supermarket,two bars,post,pasticceria with fresh delicious pastries,nice restaurant(Toto)... It's close to the beaches.small villages,15 min. drive to Otranto and 30 min. to Lecce. Alex's house is in the center of the village,two minutes from main piazza.It's beautiful ,clean and comfortable.The roof terrace is really nice for relaxing and evening aperitivo. The communication with Alex was great and easy.He gave us plenty of recommendations for a nice local restaurants,beaches and places to see. We can't wait to be back :) Highly recommended!

Fantastic Place to Stay

We enjoyed our stay very much. The home is beautiful and we enjoyed the authentic character of this tiny town. The place has everything in it that you can want and has a generous and thoughtful layout designed for both social moments and period of thought and relaxation. Our hosts were both relaxed and attentive to our needs and I can heartily recommend it as a place to stay. As for the proximity to the bells, it was a source of some amusement!

Stunning Property

The property is absolutely beautiful, tucked away in its own private courtyard just behind the main thoroughfare, only a few minutes walk from the shops and restaurants and yet very private. The roof terrace was our favourite spot at the end of the day, sitting with a glass of wine and literally being in the sun until it disappeared. Highly recommended.

Being Italian for a week

Staying in Alex's beautiful house in Bagnolo del Salento was a real tonic. Bagnolo itself is a tranquil, 'local's' town, where no-one speaks English but you still feel at home. And the house itself is just beautiful - an obvious labour of love to restore by someone with excellent taste. A fantastic mixture of the old and new, with all mod cons and perfectly clean. It's a great base from which to explore southern Puglia, and to 'become Italian' for a week! Such a beautiful region, with so many unspoilt places to visit - in fact . . . don't come here, you'll hate it!!

Perfect

We enjoyed a week with our family in this beautifully restored house. The roof terrace is great for relaxing/ dining/ listening to the surprisingly chirpy church bells. We were grateful for the efficient air conditioning on the hottest days. Bagnolo is a quiet village, away from tourists, but has everything you need - pastry/ice cream shop/ bar/ supermarket/ post office/ vans selling produce/ restaurants all on or near the main square by the house. There was always space to park in the small square by the house. Le Tre Forchette restaurant has a beautiful garden to dine out in. Alex was a very attentive host both before and during our stay,- easily contactable by phone or email - providing extensive information about the house and the area. We enjoyed visits to the towns of Otranto, Gallipoli, Lecce, Maglie and the beaches at Alimini, Porto Badisco, Castro Marina and Santa Cesarea terme. In short, a week wasn't long enough - fantastic house, great food, great beaches, beautiful towns. Thank you Alex!

Superb!

We were absolutely bowled over by this lovely property in the middle of the delightful village of Bagnolo del Salento. The house itself has been beautifully restored to a very high standard which far exceeded our expectations. Bagnolo itself is about a 20 minute drive from the nearest beach and is a haven of peace, tranquility and old fashioned charm. The village patisserie and restaurants are an easy stroll away and the food is great. The beaches are busy in August (surprise!) but we just learned to get up early to get a good spot. The owner of the property (Alex) provided lots of detailed info about the area all of which was useful, up-to-date and accurate and helped us get the most from our holiday. In short, we enjoyed it so much we've already booked to go again next year.

Stunning property in a real gem of a village

What a pleasure it has been to not only stay at Martano House in Bagnolo del Salento but also to make the booking in the first place. Alex provided us with real hands on information about the house, village & surrounding area, as if he was walking around on holiday with us. We were fortunate enough that on the day we arrived that the village had a weekend of festivities….or perhaps that’s coz we had arrived!! It was an amazing sight, with music, lights, fireworks, singing & dancing. The house was perfect, more like staying in someone’s home rather than a holiday rental. The kitchen was a chef’s delight with proper utensils for proper Italian cooking, but of course there are also the local restaurants / pizzerias if slaving over a hot stove is too much like hard work. The work put in to renovate Martano House is stunning, from the vaulted ceilings, to the walk-in fireplace shower. A real treat to stay at and explore the wonderful Salento Puglia region of Italy. We will be back.

A warm welcome to a lovely visit

The house is very stylish and is equipped to a high standard. Alex was an excellent host,providing lots of helpful information before our stay and available on the end of a phone if we needed help while we were there. The village is well provided with good food shops and 2 very good restaurants. It is easy to reach nearby towns with more shops and restaurants. Alex will tell you about the best beaches!

Beautiful house. Wonderful roof terrace. Well positioned for local towns, restaurants, the beaches and rocky coast and coves. We had an amazing holiday. Alex was extremely thoughtful and clearly was keen that we enjoy our stay as much as possible. Nothing to fault, everything to recommend.

Fabulous property and a great host.

We went looking for a Puglian holiday and this was absolutely perfect. The property is all that is mentioned on the website. It is well designed, with all the amenities that we required. The terrace is especially lovely! Alex is a great host and was always available to answer any questions we had. The "introduction" guide he provided was very helpful. This was a great holiday!

A Wonderful Place

We spent a relaxing week in Bagnolo with our 15 year old son. The house is a wonderful space in a lovely village that gives the essence of a simpler time. The quality of the house refurbishment is excellent giving modern facilities, but retaining an undoubted charm and the master bedroom is very special, with its vaulted ceiling and walk-in shower in the ensuite. The village is untouched by tourism and very few of the locals speak much English, which is not to say that they are unfriendly or uncommunicative - quite the opposite, making language no barrier at all. There is a restaurant in the village, within about 100 meters of the house called Tre Forchette (Three Forks) which is well worth a visit and is surprisingly reasonable for the quality of food and presentation. You will need a car to visit the local area and there are plenty of beaches within 30 minutes. We particularly enjoyed trips to Otranto (vibrant in the evenings), Gallipoli and Lecce.

My name is Alex Di Re, originally Italian but living in the UK since 40 years. The house is refurbished to a high specification so you can enjoy a wonderful stay. I visit once a year with my family to eat like a king, swim like a fish and absorb the slow pace of this little known corner of Italy. I love it here namely because the people are discreet and friendly, you can buy pizza by the metre, the ice cream is awesome, the sea is like a swimming pool and an Aperol Spritz will cost you a few euros. My favourite non-beachy places nearby are Lecce (The Florence of the South) and Otranto, a fortified town on the sea. I have extensive information on the village ad area and practical suggestions so you don't waste time and can just relax.

2. It has all you need to be comfortable.
3. It is equipped with ventilator fans and optional aircon.
4. The bathroom is wonderful to pamper yourself.

6. Kitchen diner offers a large communal space with good cooking utensils.
7. You can walk to three restaurants and have a drink. There are mosquito nets on bedroom windows.
8. Even locals say "wow" when they walk in.
9. I love sitting on the terrace right under the church tower.
10. It's private yet in the heart of the village.
11. The area south of Lecce is the best in Salento because the coast is more varied compared to the rather boring beaches further north.
12. I love how in a maximum of 25 minutes you can drive to a different amazing beach or rocky bay every day!
13. In July and August all the villages compete to offer religious and food festivals, there is something to do every evening.

Location, Location, Location. The house is rather unique with high vaulted ceilings and everything is in excellent condition and of good quality. It's right in the pedestrian centre and remarkable because it is adjacent to the church. The roof terrace is a special place to sit with an aperitif in the evening and watch the sun move across the church.
The church bells keep the rythm of the day, calling the faithful to daily mass; you can hear the singing sometimes. You'll be amazed how in a few days you will be living in sync with them and village life, truly and deeply relaxing. In the local shops you can buy fresh fish daily and all good quality basics. Nearby there are historic towns like Maglie and Otranto.
Three ventilator fans are provided free of charge.
