Der Schroon-See ist eine hübsche kleine Gemeinde voller Abenteuer zwischen Lake George und Lake Placid. 4 Jahreszeiten Haus! Schroon bietet alles, was Sie wollen und nichts, was Sie nicht wollen! Ein sauberer und schwimmbarer See mit einem wunderschönen kleinen Strand und Yachthafen zum Mieten von Pontons und Schnellbooten mit Schläuchen! Alles in Schroon ist ein bisschen einfacher als anderswo. Keine Warteschlangen, keine Parkgebühren am Strand. Nur freundliche Bergluft!
Der Schroon See hat eine schöne Stadt mit mehreren fantastischen Restaurants, Nachtleben, abendlicher Live-Musik, wöchentlichen Handwerksmessen, guten Cafés, Radfahren, Wandern und einem 9-Loch-Golfplatz direkt in der Stadt. Übernachten Sie in Schroon oder unternehmen Sie einen Tagesausflug zum Lake Placid, wo Sie anhalten und wandern, schwimmen und die wunderschönen ADK-Berge und den Gipfel des Mount Marci sehen können! Oder nehmen Sie sich einen Tag Zeit für den Lake George und das Parasailing, essen Sie auf dem Wasser und unternehmen Sie eine Feuerwerkskreuzfahrt.
Bringen Sie Ihre großen Spielzeug! Unser 6 Hektar großes Haus befindet sich buchstäblich auf dem Schneemobilweg und geht kilometerweit. Im Sommer können Sie ATV und Dirtbike fahren. Im Winter können Sie mit dem Schneemobil direkt nach Gore fahren und in nur 20 Minuten Ski fahren. Der Schroon See ist bekannt für seine Winterkarnevale und diese Stadt bleibt den ganzen Winter über am Leben. Wenn Sie ein Wanderer sind, kommen Sie im Herbst. Sehen Sie all die schönen Farben und Tiere von ADK auf tausenden von Kilometern Wander- und Kajakwegen.
Wir haben unseren eigenen abgelegenen Teich direkt an unserer Straße, der spektakulär zum Kajakfahren und Angeln ist. Unser Verleih beinhaltet ein Zweisitzer-Kajak und ein Fischerboot mit Trolling-Motor. Unser letzter Mieter hat an einem Tag über 50 Fische auf unserem Teich gefangen !! Es ist wirklich ein Juwel !!! und auch fischen. Das Haus verfügt über Angelruten, Fahrräder und Spielzeug. Wir können es kaum erwarten, dass Ihre Familie hier Erinnerungen weckt!

Every year we all get together for a family weekend visit in Schroon Lake. This is the second time we have stayed at this property. It is perfect for our fairly large group, and has plenty of space for all of us. The teenagers love the hot tub and also love the pool table and Pac-Man! The family room/dining/kitchen is large enough for everyone to hang out, and the south facing deck is a great spot for hanging out in the sun. We love that it is close to town and the lake, but it is also in the woods and very secluded - you can't even see a neighbor. Hopefully we will stay here again next year! The host was very accommodating and got back to me quickly when I had a small problem with the dishwasher. Great place!

This rating should go to ELEVEN! The house has everything you need for an amazing time in the Adirondacks. After a day hiking we enjoyed the full moon and stars around the fire pit, then jumped in the hot tub. No one turned on a TV all weekend (even though there's one in every room if you're tempted). Everything you need to throw a gourmet meal together, or grab a juicy burger in downtown Schroon 5 minutes away. Host Mary Jane was a great resource and knows the area and the cool local places. Best VRBO we've ever rented, excellent on every level.

Great location. Close to the lake but far enough away from crowds and noise. We spent most of our time hiking and exploring the Adirondack area. The hot tub was a nice way to cap off a day of hiking. We made great use of the outdoor grill and relaxed around the fire pit after. I highly recommend a vacation in Lake Schroon!

Great house close to town

Every year we visit Schroon Lake in October to gather with several of my family members. This house is a great location, close to town, and nicely secluded with lots of trees. It has a large open floor plan, good sized kitchen, and wrap around deck so everyone can spread out. The hot tub was great to relax in, and the fire pit had plenty of chairs for everyone to sit around the fire and make smores! Firewood was provided which was really great. The kids loved the game room. Mattresses and bedding were very comfortable. The carpet on the stairs didn't look freshly cleaned, so I gave cleanliness a 4, but overall this is a really great house!

Mid-week mini vacation with family

This house is PERFECT for a large family vacation! We had seven adults and two dogs and there was plenty of space, every amenity you could ask for, location was perfect, private yet not far from the town. Perfect spot for a family vacation!

The loose moose lodge was the ideal location for our family getaway! With 7 adults and 5 kids, there was plenty of room for everyone. The location couldn’t have been better with less than a 5 minute drive from Schroon village and the public beach and within 30 minutes to many other local amenities, including Lake George. The host was very responsive and a pleasure to communicate with. Highly recommend!

Tornado induced power outage added adventure to the week

Loose Moose Lodge was in the middle of a power outage that lasted an additional 36 hours after our arrival. Mary Jane had contacted us about the situation before our arrival. Lanterns were easily accessed. The cleaning crew did an exemplary job, making beds and preparing the facility with no electricity. We were a party of 13 ranging in age from 4 years to 70+. . The many bedrooms suited our family perfectly! The woods provide privacy, yet we’re close to Schroon Lake’s excellent swimming beach and shopping area. Seagle Music Festival is just a few miles up Charley Hill Rd where you can enjoy musicals and opera productions. The information book at the lodge helped us find activités such as Lumberjack mini-golf. We also went on several hikes. The hot tub, old fashioned video games, ping-pong, pool table, corn hole, badminton, darts, board games and the fire circle were enjoyed by all. Beds were comfortable; toiletries and towels for showers and the beach were plentiful. There’s also a large washer and dryer! Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Great house, great location, great host

If you're looking for a place that is secluded but also close to a quaint town that has everything, this is the place for you. We stayed with six people, but the house could have easily fit double that it was the best place for a relaxing get away. Highlights for us were the quiet surroundings, the game room for the kids, the hot tub for mom, the hike down the road to Horseshoe Pond (where we found an actual horseshoe!) and the 3 minute drive into town to use the beach, go to restaurants, the food store, and even catch a movie in the old movie theater. Truly awesome place!

Lovely stay for the eclipse.

It's a beautiful place, plenty of activities to do around the house and downtown Schroon Lake has plenty of amenities too. We caught the eclipse in the back yard and had a spectacular time the whole weekend. The host was responsive when we had questions and was proactive in getting us the information we needed ahead of time.

Great Time at the Loose Moose!

Our family sincerely enjoyed our stay at the Loose Moose! We had thirteen people (ages: 5,8,9,12,14,15,17, 44,45,48,49,73, and 74). There was plenty of space and plenty of fun for everyone! We downhill skied at Gore for two days and cross-country skied at Van Hoevenberg one day. We skated, bowled, and hiked! We had great family time at the house! We played board games, billiards, ping-pong, and had a campfire in the backyard! My Dad earned the top Pac-Man score with over 20,000 points, shattering the old record (see if you can top it on the classic standup arcade console in the game room)! The hot tub, couches, chairs, and tables were perfect! The moose and antler decor was well-selected and very creative! This house was excellent for relaxation, fun, and family time! We have stayed in about ten other great Vrbo houses around the country and the Loose Moose is 5 stars for sure!

There is lots to do. We ventured out to beach and rented a boat. We had the hot tub, fire pit, lots of games and enjoyed hanging out on the front porch morning, noon and night!

Amazing Place!

This house is all as described and more! The rooms were clean and spacious and the kitchen allowed us to cook big meals. There are TV’s in every room and a nice game room. The porch was a great feature as we had a couple of days of rain but the porch allowed us to be outside regardless. The fire pit was a great place to relax in the evening with a fire and there was plenty of firewood. The hot tub was a great way to relax as well. The area around the house was quiet with plenty of nature…Schroon lake was a short drive away with small shops and a few restaurants. Also great for fishing a I caught a 3-pound large mouth bass. A very quaint and quiet town. This house is well located with easy access to the highway. Overall our whole family enjoyed the week we spent there and truly loved this outstanding home. The owner, Mary Jane, was always available when we had questions and was a great host! She made our stay even more enjoyable.

Family Time!

We had a nice 10-day vacation staying here. Everyone really enjoyed sitting around the fire pit at night (with plenty of wood) and using the hot tub. The kitchen/dining area was plenty big for our group (10) where we ate most of our meals, played games, and just enjoyed being together. Schroon Lake was a short drive away and great for the kids. The mosquitoes were definitely an annoyance and we've never seen them in swarms like that. Don't know if that is normal in the Adirondacks in the summer or if it was due to the high amount of rain this year. One last comment: communicating with the owner was fantastic. She was fantastic and immediately responded to every question I had. She even gave us an update from the power company when the electricity went out during a storm and told us which restaurants were open (or closed) during the outage!

Welcome to our little secret: Schroon Lake — a hidden gem in the heart of Adirondack Park. This charming lakeside town offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by mountains, fresh air, and natural beauty, while still providing easy access to nearby destinations.
Life moves at a slower pace here. Mornings bring crisp mountain air and coffee on the deck, while evenings end under quiet, star-filled skies.
Despite its serene setting, Schroon Lake is ideally located. Lake George is just 30 minutes away, Lake Placid is under an hour, and Montreal makes an easy day trip in less than two hours.
The sandy town beach is one of our favorite spots — scenic, never overcrowded, with free parking and a protected swim area perfect for families. In summer, rent a pontoon boat from Schroon Lake Marina for tubing, fishing, or a peaceful cruise. In winter, the frozen lake becomes a snowy playground, and snowmobiling across it is an unforgettable Adirondack experience.
Dining in Schroon is part of the charm. Enjoy classic comfort food at Pitkin’s Restaurant, relaxed family dining at Flanagan’s Pub & Grill, and yes — we even have top-notch Chinese takeout for an easy night in.
With scenic drives, waterfalls, wildlife, hiking trails, and year-round beauty, Schroon Lake is a place families return to again and again.

What Makes Our Property Unique
Our home is designed for comfort, privacy, and easy gatherings, making it ideal for families and groups traveling together.
The split-level layout offers two separate living spaces, giving everyone room to spread out and relax. Multiple decks offer peaceful spots to enjoy your morning coffee or unwind in the quiet Adirondack surroundings.
Set on a private drive, the property provides true seclusion while still being close to town. Guests love soaking in the hot tub, gathering around the oversized fire pit, or exploring the charming mini cabin tucked on the property.
For winter adventurers, the home is located directly on an official Adirondack snowmobile trail, allowing you to ride straight from the property. This unique access is one of the reasons the home was featured by the official I LOVE NY tourism site as one of the “Coolest Places to Stay” in New York.
Inside, you’ll find Smart TVs in every room, reliable WiFi, and cozy new pillows and bedding for restful nights. The fully stocked kitchen makes meals easy, and we provide complimentary firewood and bathroom toiletries for a stay that feels as convenient as a hotel — but far more relaxing.
Beach towels and beach toys are available in the garage, and guests have full access to the home and property to enjoy everything it has to offer.
