My family had a wonderful week at the property. Gilberto and his staff were fantastic hosts of the property. The location was marvelous and even though the property is dated, the staff does a nice job of making you feel very welcome and keeps things clean, especially for being a beach house.

A little bit of paradise.

Great house with room for 12 high maintenance women to have space and community when they wanted it. Awesome beach, great weather, the the house staff was incredible. Gilberto speaks great English and helped us get what ever we needed, whenever we wanted it. Highly recommend, the owner was in good contact about particulars beforehand as well.

Simply the best beachfront house with the best staff and food

This beachfront house is pure magic. The location is superb, the view is the stuff of dreams, and the morning and afternoon walks on the beach are perfection. Without a doubt, it’s the best beach in Nuevo Vallarta and Puerto Vallarta. You can enjoy swimming in the ocean right in front of the house from sunrise to sunset. Gilberto and the staff are simply the best—they are always willing to help, and their priority is to ensure you enjoy your stay to the fullest. The food is amazing. I highly recommend staying in this house if you have the opportunity; you won’t regret it.

Family Spring Break

Have to begin with the world class staff-Gilberto-Araceli-Brenda & Enrique.Their kindness and hospitality and the incredible food and service made our stay remarkable and memorable.Spectacular property - breathtaking setting and views- great beach access. However, time has not been kind to the structure and could absolutely use some updating and TLC. If you can overlook the obvious deferred maintenance of the property you will enjoy your stay.

Family vacation

We had 9 family members on a vacation. A wonderful stay thanks to the amazing and very attentive staff. Gilberto, Araceli, Brenda & Enrique went above our expectations. Taking care of every need, and preparing delicious meals The house is a little dated, and needs a little work, but is a nice home with beautiful yard and on a gorgeous beach. Up front, you should know it’s an older property and is not shiny and luxurious. However, the staff of Gilberto and crew were great. Home-cooked meals and drinks served (you pay for the f&b, of course). It’s in a quiet neighborhood, and the pool and beachfront are great. Again, pool is aged, but holds clean water. Our interactions with owner, Marcello, were also timely, fair, and accurate.

Another amazing week

This is our second time staying at the Casa with our large family of 6 kids. We still have room for a couple other family members to join as well. Gilberto and the service team are amazing, makes for the most relaxing holiday. The place is a work of art, never ceases to impress how creative the design. It is a little dated but they keep the areas you actually use clean and functional. Lots of privacy while being right on the beach with beautiful sunsets every night. We are served meals on the patio, watching the whales and dolphins and birds. They make you feel like royalty or something (which we’re certainly not…) but it makes for our most favorite holiday experience!

Unreal property with even better staff

We had a group of three families (6 adults and 7 kids, all ages 6 and younger). Every moment we stayed at Casa Salamandra was a dream. The house is beautiful and maximizes its ocean front views at every opportunity. The pool and beach provide every type of water refuge you could desire. However, the onsite staff of Gilberto, Brenda and Chelli made this a truly unforgettable stay. Their attentiveness, incredible cooking and their willingness to go above and beyond in making sure we were taking care of is the best. They were wonderful with the kids and such a pleasure to be around. We are counting down the days until we can return!

Staff & good we’re amazing. House is run down, not clean, missing key components (no lights in some bathrooms), old linens, & worst of all was the mattresses. Mattresses for larger beds were hard as a rock and smaller beds you were laying on coils.

Gilberto couldn’t have been better. Always there to help and treated us like Royalty. Food they made for us was fantastic.Location of house was the very best !Very clean and felt safe, The house is really something else , we all had our own space and was quiet . The property is older and starting to show a little wear. Only improvement I could suggest would be more comfy mattresses. Keeping that in mind would we go back …. Yes in a minute.

The thing with the beds is that everyone has different tastes, and we have found that having firm mattresses is the least divisive option. More than we wished for!

The property was really interesting. We have stayed at many VRBO's but nothing like this. We were with three families. 6 parents and 6 kids. The set up was perfect for us. The Location was great and the BEST PART is the food and hospitality provided by Gilberto. He was so very helpful and on point with our needs and wants. The house is a bit rough around the edges in places but not a large concern at all. Those elements actually added to our enjoyment and teaching moments for our kids. Things are just different in Mexico. Super Happy and would stay there again if the opportunity came up again.

Excellent Family Stay

We booked the property with 2 other families and had an exceptional time. We had children ranging from 2 yrs to older teens and everyone had a great time enjoying the pool and being steps from the beach. The food was to die for. Every meal was beyond delicious. Gilberto could not have made our stay any more pleasant. He tailored everything to our specific needs including a couple of runs to cater to our toddler for diapers/milk, etc. The whole team of staff including Ariceli, Brenda and Enrique made our stay wonderful. The property is true to what you see online. The sleeping quarters are setup so each family was able to have their own, somewhat secluded section of the property. 24/7 security made us feel safe. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Best Vacation Ever

I want to share how much we enjoyed our stay at your villa in Nuevo Vallarta. Gilberto and his wife and helper were so wonderful to us . I can only say that our family had the most wonderful vacation. The property is more beautiful than even shown on the web page, I could not believe my good fortune in being able to share this with my family. And as I said before, Gilberto could not have been better. He was a key factor in making our stay comfortable, fun, and we LOVED the menu. I also appreciate how easy it was to communicate with you, Marcelo. Every question, you answered quickly, and this was always helpful in make our plans. Our family has members as young as 3 and as seasoned as 75...... All of us felt welcome and pampered. Thank you for making this villa available.

Fantastic Holiday

We had a wonderful family reunion at the beautiful Villa Salamandra .The Location, view and beach of the Villa is amazing. We all enjoyed the views from our rooms and the pool was used daily . Gilberto was a fantastic host who shopped for us , served our food and made us delicious drinks . He looked after us from 7:00 am till 11:00 pm. He helped us booking excursion’s, taxies , shopping for good “tequila “. He is a great host. He loves his job and it is very evident Araceli and Brenda made delicious Mexican food and cleaned our rooms daily. Outstanding service and location

The property is right on the best piece of beach in the area. It is spacious and confortable. Proximity to the ocean creates some maintenance challenges: though just painted, metal window frames, chandeliers, etc. are corroded. This did not negatively affect our stay in any way. Service provided by Gilberto, his wife Araceli, and Cielo, was way beyond expectations. Not only did Araceli cooked delicious meals to us, but Gilberto was always happy to take any requests my group came up with. The place is very safe, accessed through a gate and with security patrolling the house and the beach 24/7. Spectacular sunsets and some rich marine wildlife can be watched while having a meal or drink by the pool. Highly recommended for a big group unforgettable experience.

Luxury Girls Trip

Our stay was Epic! Communications with host before and during trip was stellar. Upon arrival to this beautiful oceanfront villa we were greeted by the best butler, Gilberto! The view was breathtaking and whales were breaching in the ocean right in front of our stay. Epic views from all 5 bedrooms. Some of the hardware…bathroom door knobs, glass door slider locks were broken…could be maintained better but the place is so beautiful and the staff was so awesome we didn’t care some of the villa was a little worn down. The food prepped by the cook was so delicious and Gilberto’s beverage service was top notch! Bathrooms and bedrooms were clean and the showers had great water pressure. The beach in front of the villa is now my favorite beach! I miss the pool and the view so much. Thank you Marcello, Gilberto, Chelle, Brenda, and Enrique for an epic experience.

The check in process was very easy. Location was great and the views unbeatable. But the good ends right there. The building needs extensive maintenance. The stairs were broken and injured one of our friends. One sink was leaking. One toilet was not functioning. Pool heating was non existent. There was a light bulb hanging with wire in the bedroom. Worst, all guests developed itching on the first night. Bed bugs! We all ended up with skin rash and welts on our bodies. Right now we are in process of asking for a refund.

Unfortunately this guest is not only contentious, but untruthful and a payment dodger. First, he led me to believe that he had only 10 guests in his group, so as not to pay the extra guest fee I have for larger groups. Sure enough, 12 guests showed up, and he refused to pay the extra fee. I also clearly explained weeks ahead of his stay that the pool heating did NOT make the water hot, but rather took the chill off, made it lukewarm. Still, he cheated me out of paying the agreed fee for pool heating (over USD $400). He then made up the bed bugs and other issues to get out of paying for all these expenses he owed me. we have a staff of 3 persons full time around the house plus a night watchman, and no one ever saw any injuries. Also, we had guests leaving the house less than 48 hours before, who gave a 5 star glowing review and never mentioned bed bugs, as well as another 5 star review right after these people left. Sadly, I would recommend to any VRBO owner NOT to rent to this person.

Absolute dream vacation

We loved absolutely everything about our stay at Casa Salamandra. We are a family of 10, 3 generations, ages 76 to 5. The house itself is fantastic architecture and lovely and open to the most gorgeous setting imaginable, the Pacific lapping up on our own beach right in front of the house. Before I describe more, I want to up front acknowledge the wonderful care we received from Gilberto, Brenda, and our maid. They took care of our every need, created fantastic meals, and kept the home spotless. Our 4 granddaughters (ages 5 to 10) loved ordering plates of fresh mango and grapes, smoothies, and peanut butter sandwiches for snacks. Gilberto was always there with a smile to be sure we had what we needed. This was a true vacation in which we all could relax and enjoy being together,. The 5 bedrooms were all beautiful, spacious with huge en-suites. Yes, the plumbing could get cranky, but Gilberto always sorted it out immediately. We had a great time body surfing and swimming in the ocean in late December. We loved dinner on the terrace watching the sunset. We were sad to leave and hope to return soon.

Exceptional

Cannot say enough good things about Casa Salamandra. From the second our group arrived (Group of 13) we experienced 5 star service at a 5 star property. First, Gilberto and the staff were absolutely amazing. Attentive, receptive and helpful every step of the way. We had a minor medical emergency and Gilberto was right there to support and take one of us to the clinic. The prepared meals and drinks were so delicious- I'm talking about the most delicious, fresh breakfasts, seafood ceviches, burritos and tasty pina coladas. The pricing was more than reasonable and the food was a true highlight. Next, the property itself is stunning. Yes, some parts were a little tired, but this is easily bypassed when you take in how gorgeous the pool area is, the private beach volleyball court and the immediate access to one of the most stunning beaches we have ever seen. We kept remarking that the property reminded us of villas in Santorini. Do yourself a favor and reserve Casa Salamandra if you want true luxury and memories for a lifetime. Our only complaint is that we did not book longer.Thank you to Marcelo, Gilberto and the entire team.

Villa Salamandra March 2024

My family and a group of our friends stayed at Villa Salamandra from March 26 to the 29th (there were 8 adults and 6 kids ranging in age from 14-10). It was an amazing experience. The house is very cool with a main living area that is open air/outdoor based with bedrooms that surround the main living area (you have to walk outdoors to get to them). This was a great set up as it gave us a common space to gather while still providing privacy for the individual families in our group. The house has a great pool that we all really enjoyed. The location is amazing. Great spot with the best beach in the Puerto Vallarta area steps from your house. The staff was also top notch. Gilberto and company were awesome to work with. Check in process was super easy and they made us feel at home the entire time. The food they prepared was great with plenty of options provided for some of the the pickier members of our group. The communication with Marcelo prior to the trip was very good with him always quick to respond to any questions that we had. I really can't say enough great things about our stay. We all loved it and hope to be back as soon as possible. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a place to gather with friends and family in an amazing setting. Thanks for hosting us.

La casa es un desperdicio de terreno. Se cae de vieja. Las regaderas no tienen agua caliente. Las llaves de los lavabos están oxidadas y llenas de sarro. Los botones de los escusados igual. La canceleria esta picada y oxidada. La alberca verde y turbia. En toda la casa hay dos sombrillas, una de las cuales está rota. Todas las puertas de la casa están rotas o por romperse. Los muebles en general son de terrible calidad y viejos. La mitad de los focos de la casa entera están fundidos. Cuando llegamos nadie nos ayudó con las maletas. Se supone que tendrían las compras hechas a nuestra llegada, no compraron nada, cuando fuimos nosotros al super y regresamos buscamos al personal de la casa pero no apareció nadie y tuvimos que subir todo a la cocina nosotros. Los refrigeradores son viejos, pequeños y están peligrosamente calientes. Solo hay wifi en la sala central. Cobran extra por calentar la alberca, aceptamos el costo y no la calentaron, el servicio de la casa dice que no funciona la caldera. El encargado de antender a los ocupantes me dijo que tenía un proveedor de mariscos, le pregunte que que había muy fresco ese día para pedir, el dijo que almeja y camarón, cuando lo trajeron llegó congelado, mentira descarada. Lástima de lugar, el terreno es muy bueno. Nada que ver con casas del mismo rango de precio.

The house was commissioned and built by my father, who lived part time at the house until his death in 2013. Architect José Luis Ezquerra became (and was until his death) a family friend after he stayed several times as our guest at our previous house in Vallarta as he worked on the design.
