Charming!

This was the perfect spot for my husband and me to stay while attending a nearby family reunion. The place was charming and spotless. It had everything we needed for a most comfortable stay. And Kathleen responded to any message almost immediately! I highly recommend this property!

You won’t want to leave!

This is the most relaxing and peaceful place to stay! Coffee on the porch watching deer, is a great way to start your day. When you walk in the door you feel the comforts of all! They have thought of everything for you. Close to everything in town. I’ll be.back.

Beautiful and very peaceful with gorgeous trees all around the neighborhood. We saw squirrels and plenty of deer. So close to The Gruene Hall and the Gristmill restaurant and beautiful antique stores.Very safe property. Has everything you need for a comfortable stay.We were welcome by Kathleen thé owner. She was very friendly andwanted to make sure we were taken care of. We had a great time in the Hot tub. Would like to come back and visit again. Thank you for everything.Blessings

Cozy Retreat

Loved our stay at River Haven. Very much enjoyed our evenings on the porch watching the deer. Close to historic Gruene. Nice base for our daily excursions around the greater San Antonio and New Braunfels area. Comfortable accommodations and the hosts were great.

Awesome Hill country experience!

Great hosts! Gorgeous, comfortable bed with high-end linens. Shirt drive (3 min!) to Gruene Music Hall and all the wonderful shops. Wonderful ambience at this home. We will come back if the hosts will have us!

We had a lovely stay in Gruene. The location of our cottage was perfect. Our host and hostess were kind and wanted to ensure we had everything we needed and then some. Clean, quaint and comfortable. It was a fun weekend!

Fantastic!

I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of my stay, Both times! The week prior I visited with my boss and we stayed on the second floor it was amazing so I had my following visit booked the same day I returned home from the first visit. The property is very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The Hosts, Kathleen and Greg were So kind and welcoming. This will definitely be the first place I check availability for next time I am down that direction. Thank you so much for hosting my stay. I will be back for sure!

My husband, daughter and I were attending an old friend's debut at Gruene Hall, so location was important. The front porch caught our eye when booking. What a treat it was to sit in the rockers with morning coffee and watch the deer.

River Haven Guest House on the first floor

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the River Haven Guest House on the first floor. The owners (Kathleen and Greg) were extremely nice and a pleasure to talk to. Their place is tucked away just down the road from Gruene and has all the comforts of home. It's beautifully furnished, extremely clean and has everything one needs! Whether you're sitting on the front porch in the morning having a cup of coffee or in the evening enjoying a glass of wine, you'll see deer grazing in the front yard. We went for walks every morning as well, and the deer were everywhere. It's absolutely a beautiful location! We have visited Gruene and New Braunfels many times over the years and would highly the River Haven Guest House! As a matter of fact, this will be our first-choice next time we visit! You won't be disappointed and without any hesitation, we give it 5 Stars! Thanks Dirk and Khristi

Music festival

The room was the perfect size and very comfortable and decorated nicely. The addition of the coffee pods and snacks was very nice. The AC cooled very nicely. It was a nice quiet neighborhood and the baby deer running around the yard was a plus.

River access is only a half mile from us, and the village of Gruene is one mile away, however, and we have the unique quality of being desirable for every season, Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter, where guests can enjoy shows by artisans, seasonal activities, superior music at Gruene Hall, Whitewater Amphitheater, River Road Ice House, as well as numerous nearby smaller venues in Gruene and New Braunfels. San Marcos Outlet Shopping is a 20 minute drive away and downtown New Braunfels is 11 minutes away, and you will find abundant night life, antiquing and shopping there, also. Don't forget Wurstfest in the Fall!
