We spent a few days here in December 2021. It is an older building (as you would expect for the location in Nelson Bay), although the unit is in reasonable condition. There are, as expected, a few signs of wear and tear and a mixture of older and new items, but everything/the appliances we used work as expected. Unit is on the third/top floor, so expect some stairs. There is air conditioning in the living area - not in the bedrooms, although the main bedroom has a ceiling fan.
The view, which includes the marina, is along the side of the building, but still not bad.
There is an allocated, shared garage for parking, located at the rear of the building and accessed from Church Street (at the T intersection with Thurlow Ave) - space to manoeuvre in and out is tight.
Location is good, with about a five minute walk to the marina, shops and restaurants. This unit hires without linen - that is clearly noted in the information supplied pre-booking, although the need to bring or hire those items provides a little nuisance value.
The unit would sleep 5-6 people, although the hot water tank is quite small and located in the bathroom vanity. Don’t forget to turn it on when you arrive - switch is in the bathroom next to the light switch.
Unit has Wi-Fi. Download speed just under 19Mbps and upload just over 2Mbps.
There was a regular thumping and similar noise (mainly evening, and noticeable although not excessively loud) … possibly coming from the roof space(??).
