The apartment is serviceable—nice firm beds, good air conditioning, nice pool and gym in the building. Generally, it matched my expectations. However there is one major problem: it has a serious cockroach issue. I think the issue is recent because the cockroaches we saw varied a lot in size, with some being so tiny you had to lean in to check they were roaches. But there is a whole family setting up. Nothing by the beds, luckily, but kitchen and bathroom we saw at least a dozen over the course of our five days in the apartment. On the kitchen counters, the floor, the toilet, etc. I should have said something sooner but at first I thought maybe that’s just what it’s like living in a tropical country—you get a lot more critters. However, now that I’ve stayed at other apartments in Malaysia during this trip, I know it’s not normal.
The apartment host was responsive to messages; I feel confident this issue will be solved in the future.
