A very disappointing experience for the money paid

The property felt very tired and was not at all clean with multiple examples, including a balcony, table, chairs and barbecue that had not been cleaned at all after previous use. There was dust and grime generally throughout the property. Two toilet cleaners extremely dirty with poo. Parking was an issue with other guests using our nominated parking spots. The property is in a good location and was within walking distance of the main street. It has excellent views, but could not make up for the condition of the property.

While our location close to the beach does sometimes pose challenges in maintaining absolute cleanliness, it's clear that the state of the balcony, table, chairs, barbecue, and the general presence of dust and grime fell far below the standards we strive for, and for this, I offer my sincere apologies. Beachfront properties do indeed face unique challenges due to their exposure to the elements, but this should not excuse the level of cleanliness you encountered. Additionally, the situation with the parking, where other guests used your designated spot, is unacceptable and understandably frustrating. We are taking your feedback seriously and will address these issues with our housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure they do not reoccur. We are also reviewing our parking management to better enforce the designated spots for our guests. Despite these issues, I'm glad to hear that you found the property's location advantageous and the views enjoyable. However, I understand that this does not compensate for the overall experience. Your satisfaction is incredibly important to us, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a significantly better experience in the future.

The washing machine was broken and hard to use and a lack of towel drying space difficult. The place had old appliances but they worked - the view and location were great.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay at Unwind Holidays Penthouse apartment in Victor Harbour was extremely disappointing. We encountered numerous issues, such as a broken bed frame and slats in the master bedroom, a terrible condition of the secondary bed, a lack of spare blankets and pillows despite the promised linen, filthy balcony floor tiles and bathroom exhaust fans, an open bottle of wine in the fridge upon arrival, overall subpar cleanliness with grotty areas and unclean dishes, broken dining chairs, dirty balcony glass and windows, and a non-functioning dishwasher with no dishwashing liquid provided.Unfortunately, when we raised these concerns with Unwind, they claimed to be a management company with no influence over the owners' actions and were unwilling to offer any refund or discount. Considering our experience and their unsatisfactory response, we cannot recommend this Penthouse apartment, particularly at $465 a night. We hope this review serves as valuable feedback for Unwind Holidays and future guests, urging improvements in accommodation quality and customer service.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When you see the word Penthouse you expect something with a little luxury. Unfortunately, this was far from luxury. The beds were very uncomfortable, there were no lamps in the 2nd or 3rd bedroom. The furniture throughout the certainly did not live up to Penthouse standards. The toaster was rusty, the outdoor furniture was rusty and chipped and even the vase in the corner of the lounge room had a piece missing from it. The washing machine door had a chunk missing from it where the handle was supposed to be to open and close it and the Dryer didn't work. The walls were like a rental that had been around years, and the furniture certainly didn't match the Penthouse vision. It should be described as a 3 bedroom top floor apartment with views to the ocean because basically that's all it is. Sub standard.

I sent photos & an email detailing our displeasure with the unit, especially after the large $300 bond debited from our card & an outline of must do’s before the bond would be refunded. Obviously previous tenants had forgone their refund or unit had not been checked. The balcony was unusable due to layers of dirt & , cobwebs & unsafe chairs!

Lack of communication skills.

1 No address given where we were staying on reservation confirmation. 2 Not told where to collect key until we phoned you. 3. Couldn't get up to apartment because we weren't informed to press PH thinking this was for phone. 4 No information given about having to take our own sheets and towels. After we returned home on the Friday we saw you had sent us an Email giving some information at 3:15PM after we had already arrived in Victor Harbour. Our whole holiday was completely spoiled certainly not relaxing. I will not be recommending this apartment to anyone in fact have already spoken to a fair few people who find this appalling about lack of important information. We have stayed in many apartments in Aust. and overseas NEVER having to supply own linen. The couch needs to be replaced as well. Really we are most upset about the whole horrible experience. The building is looking quite tired and needs an upgrade. We feel it was just a waste of money. Motels supply linen. We were so lucky John from the Appollon Motel where we collected the key helped us out he was fantastic at least he told us where we were staying after a few phone calls. We couldn't wait to come back home!

Victor Harbour Road Trip

All was exactly as described on the web site. Clean and roomy. The couch and dining chairs uncomfortable though and definitely seen better days. Not too bad for 2nights. View of the ocean etc was nice, the busy road was noisy.

Perfect getaway

Ideal spot to be able to have a cuppa on the balcony and watch the whales and other wildlife . Rooms are huge and was perfect for our girlie weekend getaway.

Lack of comfort

In general it was a good stay. Location great. Good views. Bed and pillows not comfortable. Outdoor setting really old and broken. Outdoor windows need cleaning.

Best time ever

Whole process was simple and easy. Accommodation was fantastic with beautiful views from a very spacious balcony. Couldn't have asked for more and will certainly go back again.

Beautiful Apartment

This apartment is gorgeous and relaxing. Pluses: sleeps 10 in 3 bedrooms, high ceilings, open living plan, large balcony with super comfy chairs, 2 large dining tables, breath-taking view, right across road to beach, short stroll to restaurants/coffee/Big W, and a quiet building. Unfortunately the keys weren't in the key box and when a rep did finally arrive they didn't have the key either. Had to collect it from the cleaner instead. Another disappointment was a dirty pillow case, but the rest seemed clean. The stay could have been greatly improved by a coffee pod machine, a few DVD movies (all movie rental shops are gone), a list of local major shops & restaurants on a "downtown" map, and a base for the double mattress in one bedroom. Don't let this dissuade you though - we loved the place!

Pluses: sleeps 10 in 3 bedrooms, high ceilings, open living plan, large balcony with super comfy chairs, 2 large dining tables, breath-taking view, right across road to beach, short stroll to restaurants/coffee/Big W, and a quiet building. Unfortunately the keys weren't in the key box and when a rep did finally arrive they didn't have the key either. Had to collect it from the cleaner instead. Another disappointment was a dirty pillow case, but the rest seemed clean. The stay could have been greatly improved by a coffee pod machine, a few DVD movies (all movie rental shops are gone), a list of local major shops & restaurants on a "downtown" map, and a base for the double mattress in one bedroom. Don't let this dissuade you though - we loved the place

Lovely Surprise

Accommodation and layout of the rooms are fantastic. Location is perfect for walking everywhere. Thanks again - we had a great time.
