We Were Relocated to a Different Property

2 hours before check-in Wyndham relocated us to a "sister property" Wyndham Kingsgate due to their "occupancy level". We looked at the Kingsgate when booking and purposefully chose Governer's Green instead, so we were quite disappointed. When arriving at the security gate they did not have our name on their list, probably due to the last minute change. The room we received only had 2 beds and a pull out couch while the listing here had 3 beds and a pull out couch. The new location did not have a jetted tub in the master bathroom and there was no water view. The Wyndham Kingsgate was okay, but were disappointed with these last minute changes and the fact that we did not get what we booked.

Hello, I am sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the sister resort; however, to switch to a different resort was an option you chose because of the monetary offer that was presented to you. I contacted the resort front desk to find out what happened based on your comments and they stated that you were highly compensated to switch to the sister resort and it was your choice to take the option. Again, I apologize for you not being happy with the sister resort; however, again it was your choice and you were very well compensated for the change. Either way, please contact me again for another stay and we can get you scheduled in the Governor's Green Resort but this time please do not take the compensation for the sister resort so you can truly assess and review the beautiful Governor's Green Resort. Thank you.

Horrible booking experience

Host/property manager somehow booked us at a resort in TN, instead of the resort in VA show a on this listing and confirmed through VRBO. After acknowledging the mistake, he completely stopped responding to my messages. Long, painful process with VRBO as a “stranded traveler” resulted in me, my husband, and an adult friend being booked into a single hotel room with 2 queen beds for one night. VRBO got us a refund for the resort booking, but we are out the second room for night 1, and it appears they will only cover a portion the cost of the 2 rooms we had to book (at the last minute on a summer weekend in Williamsburg) for the second night. Incredibly stressful, expensive, uncomfortable weekend. I can only hope that VRBO will never allow this particular host//property manager to list with them again. Note: I had to rate cleanliness and location in order to submit the review but I did not stay at the listed property so I gave a 3(neutral) rating.

Not the owner's fault, resort issues

We have stayed at this property several times over the past two years since our daughter has been at WM for grad school and this was the first disappointing stay. I called the front desk after seeing our room and learned that because they were at capacity we had been given an accessibility unit. It sounded as though since we were not actual owners, they shifted the unit type, so beware that you might not have an accommodation at the property exactly like the pictures. One of the showers had a disgusting large clump of hair on the wall and that same bathroom had ants. I spent ti.e cleaning the bathrooms to save time since this was discovered as we were getting ready to attend graduation, very disappointing but glad I had brought cleaning supplies just in case. The unit had an ironing board but no iron, this was addressed with one phone call.

Will stay again

We were disappointed that the indoor pool was shown as open but they scheduled maintenance while we were there however the heated outdoor pool made up for it! It was nicely heated- almost like bath water which allowed us to swim even though outside temps were in the 60’s. Grounds were lovely, suite was well equipped, and staff super friendly!

Perfect spot for family trip to Williamsburg

We loved staying at this condo and plan to rent again the next time we travel to Williamsburg! It was spacious and worked perfectly for our family of 5 with the 2 bedrooms and sofa sleeper in the main area. The condo and surrounding areas were quiet. Occasionally the sounds from a nearby train could be heard, but not enough to disturb our sleep. The only complaint, really, would be the bright lights in the outside hallways that peeked through the windows in the front bedroom. The room had some great and effective light-blocking shades, but the shade on the left side of the room still allowed a fair amount of light in along the side edge that filtered down near the headboard of that bed. An additional window covering (maybe some drapes that open and close) would help! There were also a few ants on the floors in the bathrooms. Overall, the condo was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The location of the condo was also convenient and the activities available were great, even during the Covid-19 pandemic. The outdoor pool was open during our Spring Break trip in April, though reservations had to be made to limit the number of guests at a given time. We also reserved a spot for mini-golf and enjoyed playing the course. We were able to enjoy some take-out meals at the dining table and saved our leftovers in the refrigerator. So glad we chose this condo over a standard hotel room for our stay!

A beautiful place to stay!

We loved the condo, it was beautiful, spacious and very clean. We appreciated the little touches like the fluffy towels, comfortable beds and sundries provided. We would definitely recommend this resort and this unit and we look forward to coming back during a warmer time of year and hopefully when some Covid restrictions are lifted and more is offered in Colonial Williamsburg.

Great space for a fun weekend!

Myself and three other friends stayed here for a long weekend in Williamsburg. It was the perfect amount of space for our needs and the location is a short drive from everything we wanted to do. The property manager was also very responsive, which was greatly appreciated! There was a bit of a bug problem (gnats/flies/spiders) and the bathtubs in the rooms were not completely clean when we arrived, but it did not hinder our fun weekend. If these issues were fixed it would be perfect. Thank you!

Great place to get away with the family

Even during the COVID-19 crisis, the staff were very organized with reservation times for most activities. The condo was spacious and the beds were very comfy. Within 20 minutes of Yorktown and Jamestown.

Beautiful property and friendly staff

Staying at a Wyndham is a treat! The condo was modern and comfortable and the property was beautiful! We saw several deer in the afternoon and night. The swimming pools were very clean And my son enjoyed them often. We had a great trip.

Overall a great property.

Plenty of room for the entire family. Way better than getting a hotel. Separate living and sleeping area and a full kitchen great. You can eat in or out. The choice is yours.

Williamsburg vacation

We were very pleased with our experience. The resort was very friendly and accommodating. It was close to sites and it was nice to have the space. We did have an issue with one of the bed frames breaking but they were very fast in coming to the room to fix it. We would definitely stay there again! We never felt pressured to listen to a presentation. Check in was very smooth and they even had root beer floats when we checked in!

Great resort but...

We absolutely loved all of the amenities at the resort and the staff was very responsive to any needs. Great pools and playgrounds for our kiddos. The condo itself was fine and in decent condition but the floors were absolutely filthy. We had to wear socks or shoes the entire time we were inside because if not the bottoms of our feet became sticky and covered in crud. Our socks got so black with dirt that I’m not even sure bleach will clean them. On another positive note, the beds were incredibly comfortable and the wildlife around the resort was a delight.

The place was clean, kitchen had everything and more, the resort had a lot to offer (pools, mini gulf, games...) The service at the resort was wonderful. All communications with the owner was smooth. Loved it! Thank you, will return again, and will recommend!
