We had a great vacation.

Perfect location - just right off the beach. Not much walking to get there. Very close to restaurants. Very clean condo. Very comfortable beds as well. The only thing that we saw was the kitchen drain rack needed cleaning. We picked it up because my granddaughter was with me and she’s just nine months old so it’s easier to give her a bath in the sink. It was funky underneath. I would have cleaned it but didn’t have a brush.

We love the Sandpiper!

Reviewer Comments: We had another wonderful week at Sandpiper Condominiums in Gulf Shores. Our condo was nice. The kitchen was well equipped. The TVs were small but fine for the week, and offered all of the services we use. The master bed, however, was the worst mattress we've ever slept on. Neither of us got a full night of sleep all week. The water pressure left a lot to be desired as well. We have stayed at Sandpiper at least 10 times in the past 19 years and it will continue to be our *home* in Gulf Shores!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our ninth year of staying at the Sandpiper, but first time in Unit 12B. The unit is well-decorated and well-stocked. Master bath was recently renovated and has walk-in shower, which is very handy for seniors with limited mobility. All other furnishings in excellent condition. The unit was very clean at check-in, more so than other units we've rented in past years. The only disappointment is that we were told by the management company that this unit's owners will not be renting on a monthly basis in the future. We will have to see what units are available, if any, at the Sandpiper if we choose to return in 2024.

Another Good Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our ninth year staying at the Sandpiper Condominiums. It was our first year in unit 12B. The unit was clean, nicely decorated, and had a lot of useful amenities. Better stocked kitchen than other units we've stayed at in the past. Unfortunately, the owners are revising their rental practices and this unit will not be available for us in 2024. Bender Realty manages this entire complex. The Bender staff was very helpful in assisting us in booking a different Sandpiper unit for next year. Their staff is friendly and very helpful. Any issue we've brought to their attention, whether large or small, gets handled right away.

All of the updates were fantastic! The only thing I wish is that we would have been made aware of the beach situation before our arrival. I know it’s not your fault by all means, it just would have been nice to receive communication before our arrival that canopies/tents were not allowed in the vicinity, that way we would not have packed our canopy (which takes up a good deal of space) and we would have brought our umbrellas. Luckily our unit had some umbrellas in the closet for us to use which was much appreciated!

The paper towel roll was half the size of a normal one. One tiny packet of dish soap and one tab for the dishwasher. The rental company should include this in the description. It would have been better if we knew to bring these from home. I’ve stayed in over 15 places, across the country and never have I seen a unit so sparsely and cheaply supplied. The living room furniture was not comfortable.

Your reservation correspondence, as well as the e contract you signed, explained that your condo would have only an initial supply of toilet paper and soap. Having a Super Walmart, Publix, and Dollar General within two miles of your condo make it especially convenient when picking up needed supplies. We hope to assist you in booking your next visit to the Gulf Coast!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful month in Sandpiper 12B. The unit is in very good condition and is well-stocked with amenities! The owners have provided an excellent selection of pots and pans, kitchen utensils, bowls and containers, etc. They also have a number of beach and lawn chairs in the unit for our use! Very convenient when we have friends & family visit! Sadly, the owners have apparently decided not to rent by the month in 2024. But Bender Realty, the management company, bent over backwards to assist us in booking another unit at the Sandpiper for 2024. Bender has always been extremely good to work with over the past nine years we have been coming to Gulf Shores. Everyone working there, from office staff to maintenance personnel, is always friendly and eager to address any issues we have brought to their attention. We're always appreciative of the way they have treated us over the years!

The tub looked like it could use a good scrub. Overall it was picked up but could use a deep clean. Also it would be nice if there were washcloths in the kitchen, there are none provided. The dryer also does not dry the clothes very well, it takes 2-3 cycles.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The pool was not ready for our stay in December, January or February but it was miraculously painted and ready to go for spring breakers. Had problems with the TV tiling and freezing up. They did change out equipment but had to come and change it out again because all the connections were not tight. Bugs! Palmetto bugs as they call them inthe south. Yes, they have people come in and spray supposedly for bugs but never had one person come into our condo while we were here. We currently have three large palmetto bugs in our kitchen light. The people atBender were nice but on the occasions I called about the bugs I had a person both times say but they are dead. No they aren’t if they can walk into a bathtub or out onto the kitchen floor three feet from the cabinets. I’m sorry if this sounds awful but not really what I wanted when I paid high rent for three months.

Sandpiper is a wonderful place in the winter, and unit 12B is definitely not an exception. We regret the delay in getting the pool painted and the pool deck open for guests, but a delay in materials and bad weather did hold the work back. Fortunately, our winter guests were able to enjoy the warm weather and pool deck by the last week of their stay. Palmetto bugs do make an appearance at times, as they are in the natural environment, and we offered to remove that light fixture and clean it for you, but you declined. We hope that you were able to enjoy your stay this winter, and we will gladly assist you in booking your next visit to the Gulf Coast!

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The pool and deck were not accessible. The condo was nice but they could have at least let us use the chairs around the empty pool. It would have given us a place to sit in the sun away from the wind.The people at Bender Realty were nice.

We regret that the pool deck was not accessible for part of your stay. The weather has not been cooperative in allowing needed upkeep, and safety is always a top priority. We hope it will be completed soon so that you can enjoy some time to gather with your Sandpiper friends, poolside in the sun.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: one complaint the floor made our feet black, called the office they sent someone over to remop our feet were still black found the mop whoever was using and it was filthy need new mop and some bleach hate spending that kind of money and have a filthy floor other than that we loved it. that is the second time staying there love the grounds, all the ladies in the office are super sweet and helpful. This is the second time I have used bender and will use you again probably this summer!
