Willkommen am unberührten Burntside Lake! Die Rockside Lodge befindet sich im Burntside Forest und in der Nähe der BWCAW, um alle Naturschönheiten zu genießen! Es ist eingebettet in die Pinien in einer ruhigen, ruhigen Bucht. Das Anwesen verfügt über ein Haus am See und eine Kabine für eine Gruppe oder zwei Familien. Das Haus am See ist 25 Minuten von der Küste mit einem Sandstrand entfernt und die Hütte liegt am Ufer! Große, große Seeseite, um den fantastischen See zu sehen. Komplett eingerichtetes Haus verfügt über einen großen Raum mit Kamin, Esszimmer, Küche, 3 Schlafzimmer und 4 Saison Veranda mit Queen-Size-Bett. Entspannen Sie in der Sauna am Ufer. Kommen Sie und genießen Sie die Ruhe!


Die Kabine verfügt über eine gemütliche Terrasse am See, wo Sie Ihren Morgenkaffee genießen können. Auch zum Betrachten oder Abhören der Seetaucher ist es ideal. Ein weiterer Favorit ist das Lauschen des Wassers an der Küste! Offener Effizienzstil mit kleinem Loft, den die Kinder lieben werden. Unglaubliche Sonnenaufgänge und Mondaufgang über dem See! Family vacation

Great for our group, nice little beach, good kitchen set-up, comfortable beds, spacious deck. Lovely log home and cabin with pretty yard and shoreline. Good location - close to Ely and in a sheltered bay on the lake.

The home was great. It was clean and well stocked. Loved having laundry onsite. The location of this home is also great; 10 minutes to Ely and near other attractions. The home and property appear to be well cared for. The only comment on what I think could be improved would be to have some storage in the bedroom near the laundry; whether it is shelving or a hanging rack, or both!

Family vacation

We had a wonderful week at Sandy’s beautiful home and cabin on Burntside Lake. The location was ideal, on a gorgeous part of Burntside Lake. We were able to swim, fish, and canoe right from the house. Close to the Boundary Waters for day trips. Ely was a short drive for dinner and trips to the wolves and bears. Fantastic vacation!

Gorgeous Cabin and area

Beautiful cabin and area. Cabin was extremely clean with lots of supplies in the kitchen. Kids loved using the canoe. Fishing was excellent on Burntside Lake. Caught many bass. Make sure to bring bug spray. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful, comfortable, and relaxing

We enjoyed our time in this large, beautiful home (and bonus cabin!) overlooking peaceful Burntside lake. The home was very comfortable with a nice, well-equipped kitchen that allowed us to cook meals together and enjoy them on the deck overlooking the water. Everyone remarked that the beds were comfy. The home was super convenient to Ely for grocery runs. We were all sad to leave!

The cabin was amazing. Just like the photos - even better. The property is immaculate and the beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well supplied with dishes, pots and pans, etc. The cabin is close to Ely so getting supplies was very easy. There was enough to do in town on rainy days, and the shop and restaurant owners in Ely were hospitable, helpful, and a pleasure to do business with. We had one unexpected surprise, the owner let us know that they sometimes stay in an RV in the back yard. As we got to the property we saw that the RV was away from the house, near the driveway behind a second garage. I will note that it was NOT an inconvenience nor did it interfere with our experience or our privacy as we had feared. Had we not seen the car, we would not know they were there.Overall this is one of the very nicest properties we have rented.

Relaxing Vacation

Comfortable, quiet location. Excellent view through pine trees of the lake and distant islands. Guest house is cozy for two, with fireplace, private deck, TV, and kitchen. We enjoyed the sauna and swimming daily. Dock provided safe tie-up for our fishing boat, and electric outlets to charge batteries. All facilities in the house and on the grounds are up to date and in good order. A couple of times we made the 15-minute drive to Ely, to shop and visit cultural activities. Overall we're very pleased with our stay, and with the attention to detail by the owner. Morris and Teresa B.

Great vacation. Helpful hints.

We loved our stay! Aporeciated the extra hooks in bathroom for towels. Ice maker always had ice. Great bass fishing! Dishes were dirty. Had to wash every dish before using. Had food on plates, etc. Hints: Bring extra towels. No A/C and it was beautiful weather. Towels did not dry. Leave extra time when you depart. Will need to strip beds empty all garbage, then wash, dry and put away dishes.

I am very happy you enjoyed your stay! I am disappointed to hear about the dishes I will work on making sure that doesn't happen again. When the house was built they installed hot water heat so difficult to have A/C. We usually only need A/C a few days in the summer. It usually cools off at night. Not sure about the towels not drying the lint trap may have been full. Since were very limited on time for change over we ask guests to strip the beds which is usually standard with rental units. Thank you for staying with us!

Beautiful Lake and Great Accommodations

The setting of both cabins on the lake is beautiful, as is the lake itself. The main cabin has plenty of space and the guest cabin works great for two people. Both cabins were very clean and well-kept. It was really nice having the sauna. We brought kayaks and a canoe, also rented a pontoon from Ladybug, so had plenty of opportunities to be on the lake. Our kids and grandchildren also enjoyed their time; a thumbs up from everyone!

Wonderful week at the lake

This is one of the best properties we have rented. Beautiful setting. Right on the lake. Wonderful gardens all around property. Very well supplied kitchen. The only thing about this vacation that was a apin were the black flies - northern MN in July. Once we did some fogging that was taken care of as well. We used all of the decks and picnic area by lake. Firepit was great the nights the winds were down. There were four couples and we all agreed we could easlily rent this property again. Just amazing.

Very comfortable rental property!

Everything about the property is exceptional! The only complaint I have, which has nothing to do with the property, is the biting gnats! There are so many right now, because of the high water. Bring lots of bug spray and/or bug netting and a hat. I highly recommend this property. Burntside lake is a beautiful lake!

Amazing family sabbatical

A beautiful home on a perfect lake for great fishing, deep water swimming, pontoon and kayak adventures and exploring islands! Rental of a pontoon through Ladybug Lodge went smoothly. We loved the option of the little cabin for our son's family. A couple of disappointments-the sauna stove was glitchy and didn't work the way instructions stated. Then we lost hot water on the 3rd morning of a 5 day stay and ended up boiling water for the next 24 hours to do dishes and wash up for 9 people. It would have been understandable that something happened no one expected - but when we were told to consider it like camping and basically that people had endured much worse, We weren't sure how important it was to them to get it restored. We felt patronized when I think we would have appreciated "how can we help make this work better for you?" Thankfully plumbers showed up the next afternoon and the situation remedied. All in all a sweet time with family and some small frustrations.

Thank you for staying with us! When the guest arrived I explained how to use the sauna and that it has a lot of safety features. There is information on how to use the sauna. The next guests that arrived I didn't get to show them how to operate the sauna. I meet them a few days later and was concerned if they were able to use the sauna. They said, the sauna worked fine and they just followed the directions on how to use it. It was later in the day when I was notified the hot water wasn't working I immediately started looking for a plumber. It usually takes a few days to get service. One plumber said, he would be able to come the next morning I was so happy he could come out that soon, but he didn't arrive until the afternoon. He was able to get the hot water working. I also contacted VRBO after I was able to reach a plumber. I wanted to see what VRBO recommended for the situation. They said, it wasn't an emergency and that I could offer to refund the rental fee. So I did explain what VRBO recommended and I offered a refund. They decided to stay. I did recommend boiling water to do the dishes but you can use cold water I was just offering suggestions. We are in the wilderness and a small town things can be frustrating. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Wonderful Stay

The location allowed for the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation for our group of 2 families (family of 4 and family of 5). The swimming area and dock provided hours of entertainment for our children while the adults relaxed on the shore. We enjoyed taking our kayak out on the lake along with the canoe that was provided. We caught enough fish for a fish fry. We were able to take a day trip to Split Rock Lighthouse and Tettegouche State Park. We hiked to nearby Kawishiwi Falls. A couple in our group also hiked the Bass Lake trail and enjoyed it. We appreciated the cleanliness of the cabins. It would have been nice to know we would be expected to bring our own bath towels and washcloths before booking this rental. We did not know we needed to pack these things until a week before we left. Overall, the cabin worked very well to provide our families with a memorable vacation.

Beautiful Property

Very happy with the size and quality of the home. The location was only 10 minutes away from town. We rented a pontoon and didn't have very good luck fishing but enjoyed the gorgeous views of the lake. Would recommend this home to others!

Beautiful cabin, beautiful lake!

We loved our stay & highly recommend it! We have two kids, ages 3 & 1. Some things about the cabin are not ideal for kids under 3, no rail on parts of the deck, lots of furniture that could easily tip, etc, but the description doesn’t give the impression the cabin is baby proof so we knew the risk! Our kids loved playing on the beach & wading in the water. We rented a pontoon from Ladybug Lodge for the week & had an amazing time exploring the lake. The owners were good communicators & the check in/out process was easy. We also really loved Ely & all the fun shops and restaurants-it was about a 15-20 minute drive into Ely from the cabin.

Totale Relaxation

I'm not sure we could have enjoyed ourselves more. The accomidations were perfect for our family and friends that came over the course of the week. Closeness to Ely makes it convenient when you need or want to go into town but you also feel like you are at the end of the road when it comes to peace & quiet. I haven't been that relaxed on a vacation for quite some time. Thx Sandy & Jay for sharing your property with us. Ben & Michelle P
