Perfection!

My husband and I and my sister and her husband recently stayed in this beautiful house. It was flawless - immaculately clean, extremely well stocked with most everything you might need, and in a lovely location (we could see the geyser in the distance). I especially appreciated that the owners kept in touch with us by text and email during our stay to assure that we had everything we needed and to answer any questions we had. The wifi and television worked well and the hot tub was up and running. A lovely experience in every way.

Absolutely PERFECT!

Consider yourself lucky if the property is available for your stay. This home was absolutely stunning, phenomenal location, beautifully appointed, and the hosts were spectacular! Not being familiar with the areas/distances, this home couldn't be more perfect to explore the Golden Circle, and even our day trip to Vik! We especially loved how cozy the house was - for the evenings. The kitchen is fantastic, and has a full stock of spices. The beds are incredibly comfortable, as is the living room. We absolutely loved the space! Thordis was easily accessible throughout our stay. Just be mindful - when locking the door, turn the handle up to engage the lock! :) Thank you, Thordis, for such a wonderful stay!!

Schön war's!

Wir verbrachten in Thordis' schönem Haus Anfangs MĂ€rz 2020 vier NĂ€chte als Familie (2 Paare). Wir fanden im sauberen Haus alles, was wir brauchten. Die Inneneinrichtung ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet. Das Haus liegt abseits der Strasse nach Gullfoss in einer weiten und ruhigen Landschaft mit genĂŒgend Abstand zu einigen anderen HĂ€usern. Thordis kontaktierte uns von Zeit zu Zeit via Mail kurz vor, wĂ€hrend und am Ende unseres Aufenthaltes. Danke Thordis! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Perfect cabin

The cabin and location was perfect. The owners were very helpful when we were unable to figure out how to use some of their appliances, lol. We couldn't be happier. We stayed in the city for our first night and headed to the cabin for 3 more nights. Suggestion: Buy your liquor at the duty free shop upon arrival. It's hard to find elsewhere.

Great Stay Overall

Place was beautiful. Property owner was wonderful to work with. Only one problem is the hot tub we were looking forward to did not work and caused us much frustration. Not really their fault, as they did not know and they felt terrible about it. They were going to get it fixed after we told them about it. All in all, excellent and comfortable in a quiet area!

Excellent rental property

My family of 4 stayed here for 3 nights out of our week in Iceland. It was so nice to have the space to spread out and the place was immaculate. The amenities are complete including a well appointed kitchen, side deck with grill and hottub, washer and dryer. So relaxing and very quiet place to stay. The location is within walking to the Geysir and an easy 7 min drive to Gullfoss. Make sure to visit a bigger market like Bonus or Kronan in the larger towns before arrival. There aren't places to buy groceries close by except for convenient stores maybe at least 20min away. Access to key is easy and convenient to arrive anytime after check in time. Owner is very responsive with communication and wants to ensure a positive experience for the stay. Highly recommend!

Wonderful home in Geysir/Gullfoss area

Our 3 generation family loved our stay in this wonderful home! The location was perfect for exploring the region, visiting the local geysers/waterfalls, and being close to restaurant options. The farmhouse decor was both comfortable and attractive, and the nice kitchen, large farm table, and large sofas were great for meals and relaxing. The hot tub was delightful after a long chilly day of hiking! The homeowner was very responsive and helpful, providing us with grocery options, special instructions, etc. We would definitely rent this home again and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in this area of Iceland.

Loved it!

We just 100% loved staying at this house for 1,5 week. It’s pretty new, well decorated, convenient, great beds etc. It’s situated walking distance from the Geysir(s), a restaurant, small supermarket, and above al in the midst of nature. Gullfoss waterfall is just a 10 min ride. We also went show mobiling at the glacier (trips leaving from Gulfoss), horsebackriding (5min drive from the house), Some hiking, and did daytrips to ao Vik, Reykjavik, pingvellir national park. We will definitely return to this place at Some point.

Beautiful cabin

We had a great stay at this cabin. Six adults in our party and we had a nice amount of space. It's beautifully decorated and comfortable.The kitchen is great. We cooked and played cards while an epic wind storm raged outside and felt nice and cozy. We walked to the Geysir and also to the Little Geysir Restaurant. Easy drive to Gulfoss waterfall and the Secret Lagoon. Steps/ladder to the upstairs bedrooms is steep. Thanks, Thordis for a great stay.

Beautiful home! Fantastic and attentive hosts! Lovely location!

If you are looking for a modern home in a beautiful and remote location then this is it! Four bedrooms and one a half baths provide privacy. Myself, hubby and two boys stayed here to celebrate my 50th bday and the location provided access to many of the sites. Geysir is 10 minute walk, waterfall, secret lagoon and unique farm to table restaurant 15 minute drive. One and a half hour drive to the capital and 2 hour drive to Vik and black sand beach. The hosts are attentive and ensured hot tub was running efficiently and surprised us with champagne, goodies and a kitchen well stocked with many spices, condiments, tea and coffee. One practical thing to be aware of is the stairs to second floor are probably not best for young children, the elderly or someone with mobility limitations. There are two bedrooms and bathroom on main floor and two bedrooms and half bath on the second. Laundry room on main floor is a nice bonus. We had a fantastic stay here!

Our property is warm and open with a large space for a family or group of friends. ItÂŽs also perfectly situated in the middle of all the attractions one needs to explore in the southern part of Iceland. Many good restaurants and farm to table places to visit.

Our house is big with a very open and comfy space, high ceilings, nice view and it is always so warm to escape into from the winter cold in Iceland, but also a huge outside area to enjoy the star-bright sky and northern-lights or the everlasting daylight in summertime. Big soccer-field for kids and grown ups to play soccer or even make an snowman in the winter time
