Pine Grove Cottage - Romantischer Kurzurlaub am privaten See

Komplett eingerichtetes Ferienhaus im Wald mit einem Garten, der sich zu Pinienbäumen und einem 4 ha großen Teich hin öffnet. Das Cottage verfügt über Holzböden, Fenster-Klimaanlagen und gemütliche Möbel. Perfekt für einen Familienurlaub oder einen romantischen Kurzurlaub. Das Pine Grove Cottage befindet sich auf unserer 23 Hektar großen Ranch in einer eigenen Ecke des Grundstücks mit eigener Zufahrt und Eingangstor. Ein Wintergarten erstreckt sich über die gesamte Länge des Hauses und blickt auf den Pinienhain und den dahinter liegenden See. Ein offenes Familienzimmer / Esszimmer / Küche ist ideal für Familienfeiern. Die Gäste können das Anwesen der Ranch mit mehreren kleinen Seen (4 bis 7 Morgen) und großen Waldflächen, auf denen wild lebende Tiere und Vögel leben, frei durchstreifen. Das Fischen an den Seen ist "catch and release" möglich, um sicherzustellen, dass das Fischen auch für zukünftige Gäste gut bleibt. Die Seen sind mit Barschen, Wels und Brassen bestückt.

Kanus und Boote stehen für diejenigen zur Verfügung, die auf den Seen angeln oder einfach nur entspannen möchten. Nur 15 Minuten von Pittsburg, Gilmer und Winnsboro entfernt können die Gäste das Leben auf dem Land erleben und gleichzeitig die Annehmlichkeiten einer Stadt genießen. Im Sommer werden in den nahe gelegenen Obstgärten frische Pfirsiche, Brombeeren und Blaubeeren verkauft. Golf, ein Weingut und eine Vielzahl von Restaurants erreichen Sie von der Ranch innerhalb von 15 Minuten. Für diejenigen, die Antiquitäten mögen, gibt es viele Geschäfte innerhalb von 15-30 Minuten von der Ranch.

Our stay at Pine Grove Cottage was excellent! Paula was the most gracious host that we have had the pleasure of meeting ad the cottage was very clean and neat. The fishing was excellent which is what we went for and we have made plans to visit again next year.

Another great experience at Pine Grove, peaceful and relaxing. The house stayed cool in the heat and the trees provided plenty of shade. The fishing was excellent as we caught over 40 fish in 3 days. And don’t miss the opportunity to interact with Paula and Jim. They are very nice people and very f you need anything just ask.

What a peaceful, relaxing, and private setting. Everything we needed was here. Fresh eggs from the farm, homemade jam, and cantaloupe were an added bonus! Beds were very comfortable. Everything worked inside. For a cottage in the woods, surprising no bugs inside! Bonus! Host was more than accommodating and helpful, very responsive! We loved fishing on the boat and caught lots of fish! We will be back for sure!

Quiet and relaxing

The property is gorgeous. This is the perfect place to get away and hear nothing but nature. Being out in the boat was relaxing and the fish were biting. Paula is always quick to respond and she had the place ready to go with fresh eggs, blackberries and blackberry jam. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Great Getaway

Highly recommend this property. Nice and quiet get away. The loft is accessible by a small ladder, so not ideal for everyone, other than that, this property is great for a family getaway. Owners are very nice and very accomodating!

Peaceful and Relaxing

This little cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay. If you’re a fisherman then you won’t have any problem catching fish. My husband probably caught about 30 fish over 3 days. Most were small but he did catch a 4 lb bass and 7 lb catfish. The sun porch facing the water is perfect for reading a book and enjoying the view. Beds were comfortable. We will definitely be back!!

Father’s Day Guys Trip…

My boys took their dad and grandad on a guys fishing trip for the weekend and they had an absolute blast! They said it was quiet and peaceful. The place was well stocked and comfortable. They really enjoyed the private pond and each caught 30+ bass. They said the provided breakfast food and fresh eggs were delicious. They also brought blackberries home that the owner gave to them from their garden and I made blackberry cobbler with them. They haven’t stopped talking about how much fun they had! Such a cute fun place to getaway from it all.

Wonderful Time

Me and my wife were very happy with all areas of our trip to this property. Very peaceful, quite absolutley beautiful view from back enclosed room and back yard. If you do not like spending time in the outdoors or are looking for a high tech modern vacation this is probably not for you. But if you are looking for a comfortable ( beds very comfortable ) peaceful place to enjoy the outdoors and fishing along with a cabin set in the piney woods then THIS IS FOR you. We both loved our stay and would gladley return for another trip.

Jim and Paula Archer own and operate Lone Star Cattle Company, a working 250 acre ranch in Northeast Texas. Jim is a recently retired Professor of Chemistry. Paula retired last year after 30+ years as a software sales leader for a major corporation. They moved to the ranch over 13 years ago. Jim continues to be active in Rotary International and recently served as District Governor for Rotary International. They moved to the ranch over 20 years ago. Jim served as as a District Governor for Rotary International 2008 and remains active in Rotary International. He is Chair of the Northeast Texas Community College Foundation and serves on the Wesley Foundation Board at the college. In addition, Jim serves on the local ambulance board. Both Paula and Jim enjoy sharing the relaxation and enjoyment of the ranch through the vacation rental program.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

We love the beauty of the area and the wonderful community of small town friends and neighbors. We moved to East Texas more than 20 years ago. After living in 'town' (Pittsburg TX) for 10 years we bought the ranch and fixed up Pine Grove Cottage for our weekend getaway. We loved staying there so much we sold our home in the city and moved to Pine Grove Cottage while we began plans for a new home on another corner of the property. During this time we needed more room for family and friends so we added Spring House on still another corner of the ranch. In 2005 our home was completed and we moved out of Pine Grove Cottage. We decided to offer both Pine Grove and Spring House on VRBO at that time so others could share in the beauty and fun of the ranch. We were so pleased with the wonderful guests that visited, we have added a third VRBO guest apartment and a Bed & Breakfast to allow larger groups to stay. In 2011 Paula's sister and brother-in-law moved to the area and purchased Spring House as their private residence. Our positive experience with vacation rentals led us to replace the property with a brand new one, Lakeside Cottage, which we built and opened for business in 2012. We often host extended families looking for a retreat, wedding parties and multiple families who want to come together to visit. Now we can accommodate all. Our return rate is very high and many of our guests have come to view the ranch as their own special place in the country...without all the hard work!

Update: In 2022 we realized it was time to downsize now that we are in our 70's and 80's. We now offer only one property as a vacation rental and that is our beloved Pine Grove Cottage with it's own 4 acre stocked pond.
