Hey Steve! Thanks for the review. I figured you would respond with a remark about the water. What you should have written was, “Lori tried to talk me out of coming repeatedly stating that the water was extremely low. She offered to give me 100% refund even up to the last minute. We all hoped for rain. I should have listened to her and either rebooked or canceled. Lori even offered another one of her homes in case I wanted to switch. Unfortunately, I decided to stay. Again Lori tried to talk me out of it. I should have listened to Lori.” I don’t usually respond with a negative reply to my guest’s reviews but I feel yours warrants one. I tried repeatedly to get you to cancel. I kept you up to date for weeks! I don’t want any of my guests not getting what they pay for. We are in the worst drought on record. Our city’s Guadalupe river has stopped flowing completely, creeks are dried up. It’s terrible! Our fish are really struggling. I told you it was bad! In the future when someone gives you advice regarding your booking and their home not meeting up to what you expect, listen to them!!! We aren’t suggesting you cancel for our benefit. It’s watching out for you, our guest. So thank for the four stars and review. 👍🏼

Thank you for your review. We have the square footage of every home in the description so you can know if it’s big enough for your family. It’s one of our smaller more popular homes being 2300sq feet. I always ask my guests when they inquire about ages of kids because that can make any size house feel small. Lol. As for the creek, there are no barricades. Approximately a mile down is a dam that you can walk around if you desire. On the other end are pool noodles that our neighbor uses to keep debris from floating down stream. She has a sign by the water explaining it. I easily paddle over them when on one of the paddle boards we have for guests. I’m sorry if you didn’t see her sign. As for water shoes, I think everyone should bring a pair when going to a river or creek. Some feet are more sensitive than others. We keep water shoes in almost every size on the porch for anyone that might need them. I leave my cell number with a gift bag for every guest so they can call with any questions or concerns. I wish you had called me so I could have helped make your stay a little more enjoyable. The only thing I would not have been able to fix would be the house size. Take care!
