Diese einzigartige, 100 Jahre alte Blockhütte liegt neben den Ufern des Chestatee River. Perfekt zum Angeln, Tubing oder einfach nur zum Sitzen auf der Plattform am Flussufer mit Ihrer Morgen Tasse Kaffee. 3 Schlafzimmer und eine Master-Suite. 2 volle Bäder. Alle Stein- und Blockbauweise. Große Küche mit Kamin, großes Wohnzimmer mit Kamin, Arbeitszimmer und Solarium. Alle Zimmer haben Blick auf den Chestatee River. Die Hütte gehörte zuvor dem Schriftsteller Hugh Wilson, der so großartige Filme wie "Police Academy", "First Wives Club" und die TV-Serie "WKRP in Cincinnati" schrieb. The Cabin ist nur wenige Minuten von einigen der besten Weingüter der Welt entfernt Auch nur ein paar Schritte von "The Dahlonega Square" entfernt, wo Sie Gold gießen, bis zum Umfallen einkaufen oder das historische Goldmuseum besuchen können.

Tim is a 5-star host of a 4-star property. This 100 year old house has tremendous history, but a few items concerned me during my stay. The flooring in the master bath is not level and easy to slip or trip. The top of the stairs railing is very low. I nearly slipped coming down the top step and fortunately saved myself from falling. My concern is the railing at the top of the stairs is too low to hold onto. This historic home is quite dark with lamps everywhere around the home to help provide adequate lighting. Please label what light the switches apply. One final recommendation would be to add some privacy shade/blinds on the end of the property closest to your home. While preserving the beautiful view and historic nature of the home, having some privacy blinds would be nice given the close proximity to the owner’s home next door.As I said above, Tim is a 5-star host! He was easy to communicate with from reservation, to arrival and departure. If I had a question, he was quick to reply. He met us upon arrival, gave us a tour of the home and his wife provided some wonderful pumpkin bread. Love that level of service. You don’t find it very often and it was very much appreciated.This is a historic home with a beautiful and peaceful view of the river below. We were able to get Uber service from the house to town approx 3-4 miles away.We enjoyed our stay during GoldRush weekend.

We had a wonderful stay in this cabin. The surroundings were beautiful and the house/cabin was really amazing! Although the house was 100 years old, which gives it a charming appeal, it was very well maintained. The interior was well kept, clean, and had an upscale feel to it. The bedrooms are all upstairs, so your party will need to be able to navigate stairs, but this wasn't an issue for us. The cabin overlooks a bend in the river, and view is spectacular. There is a private deck area off the master suite which is the perfect place to privately enjoy a cup of copy or read a book. There is also a cute little stone platform/patio with chairs right down on the river. Where we were visited by the "resident" otter. The hosts were amazing! They were very accommodating, kind, and responsive. They even baked us a loaf of pumpkin bread upon our arrival. I really can't say enough good things about our experience here. We actual were married next door at The Oar House, a private events venue, which was also an amazing experience. I highly recommend you check these places out!

A Wonderful Experience

Charming Christmas Getaway

Tim and Leigh are welcoming, attentive, and gracious hosts. Great communication and check in. Ingrid, the resident cat, and the fresh baked pumpkin bread were part of our favorite things. The lodge was decorated for Christmas with added charm throughout. The river view and surrounding areaa with a quaint town, waterfalls, and wineries were all wonderful. Such an incredibly interesting and beautiful property.

We are very fortunate to have property owners who let people stay in such interesting and unique properties such as this. Absolutely incredible home to relax and overlook the Chestatee River for a few days or longer. The hosts are warm and friendly and easily accessible. With four bedrooms it would be perfect for a family reunion. There is eve an adjacent property to hold a wedding or catered event for the family. Just talk to the host about your specific needs. This is our 3rd straight year staying in Tim & Leigh's cabin during our annual 6 Gap trek, and it continues to be a delight. With hurricane Helene rolling through the N. Georgia mountains earlier that week, there was a lot of uncertainty, but the hosts were way ahead of the game, keeping us informed of the weather and promising to let us know of concerns in advance. Thankfully everything was OK, with no damage, but it was comforting to have such a great flow of information.

Peaceful beauty

First I must say that the owners Tim & Leigh were incredible kind and thoughtful. Leigh’s pumpkin bread made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in, and it was delicious! The cabin is full of history and very unique. It is set back by the the river with a beautiful view from just about every window. Perfect location for near by sites. We absolutely would recommend this cabin. We hated to leave!!! Thank Tim and Leigh!!

Majestic Location

Had a great stay with my family for my 60th birthday. The house and the property are just perfect for a long weekend getaway. The 100 yr old house (cabin) is extremely cool with the stone and log design, but modernized in terms of kitchen, AC, electricity, wifi, etc. The best part of it is the property is right on the river, including a great stone patio with steps into the river. There's also a large open grass field for other activities. Tim and Leigh are great hosts and extremely responsive. Property is also 10 min drive from Dahlonega, Walmart, bait shops, Walgreen's, and other conveniences. Highly recommend a stay here!

We used the adjacent venue for my daughters's wedding. Being so close to the venue was a blessing. The lodge is absolutely amazing. The view of the river, the house grounds, visits from Ingrid ( the outside cat), access to river. Beautiful. The hosts are right next door so very responsive to questions. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was adequately stocked with all we needed. There was plenty of space to spread out or gather together whichever was your preference. The stairs really give you a work out and I plan on keeping up with the exercise! My mom was a trouper with those. The only thing we ran out of was time.

Great Cabin Stay!

Amazing hosts Tim and Leigh created a beautiful, warm, inviting and cozy cabin on the Chestatee river. It's truly magical. Tim gave us a quick tour and Leigh welcomed us with warm pumpkin bread. They truly make you feel welcome and like family. The photos definitely do not convey the beauty and history of the cabin and the surrounding grounds. There are numerous outdoor gathering spaces, one directly located at the waters edge, and we enjoyed time at all of them. The cabin is so well appointed with every convenience that you can imagine. We truly enjoyed our stay and can't recommend this peaceful retreat enough.

This was the best cabin. I took my mother, aunt , uncle and cousin. We were able to just enjoy each other. The hosts Tim and Leigh O'Brien were very gracious! Quiet relaxing log cabin on the river

A very interesting and distinctive property. Close to downtown Dahlonega but in a very quiet and relaxing location. Large log cabin with both big spaces for getting together for meals and small spaces for a place to read or play games. Several spots to sit outside and quietly enjoy the scenery along the river side. We were there for four nights to attend a family member’s wedding held locally. We were able to make several side trips for shopping, hiking, and dining out. The hosts were great. Helpful and available when needed but otherwise left us to enjoy our visit. Very happy with our stay.

Stay Here- you wont be disappointed!!

I don't leave alot of reviews, but when something is as good as this cabin was, then it is deserving of a review. Not only was the cabin amazing, but the owners Tim and Leigh were amazing. More on them in a little bit, but first for the cabin. The pictures do not do this cabin justice. It is more beautiful in person, even though the pictures make it look great...wait until you see it. Stepping into this cabin is like stepping back in time 100 years ago with all of the modern luxuries and amenities you would want. Everything was clean and the entire cabin smelled like fall and apple spice. It was perfect. My wife is a decaf coffee kind of girl and they even had Decaf Keurig cups. Every detail was thought of and addressed. When we arrived we were met by Tim who gave us a quick tour and overview of the cabin. We were then greeted by a delicious loaf of pumpkin bread that was baked fresh by his lovely wife Leigh. And it was absolutely delicious! The location is beautiful and there were so many peaceful places to enjoy a cup of coffee or hot chocolate on a crisp November morning while listening to the river down below. This cabin really is beautiful and if you are looking for a relaxing oasis then look no further. Time and Leigh treat you like family. Leigh even made my wife a dairy free version of her pumpkin bread for my wife since she cant have dairy. They are the nicest people and make sure you are taken care of. We will definitely be back. We moved to this property from Fla. in 1996 with our 2 boys. It has been an awesome place to live. The sounds of the water and the feeling of being on vacation every time we came home.
