The cabin was great, perfectly secluded in the center of the Adirondacks. Perfect for a couple or small family who want a less crowded area to enjoy the mountains
What is there to add? Absolutely perfect. Wonderful place with a great views and really cosy. Paul is great and we couldn't have wished for more.
❤️❤️❤️ Cabin was everything we needed plus more. Views beautiful, kayaking sublime !!! Husband brought our electric motor for 10 foot dingy to fish and must say he was a happy man. Walleye is the best !!!! We were familiar with the area and have friends that have a camp nearby but we got to explore more being on our own. Everything is within an easy drive. We went to long lake ( 15 min ) schroon lake. 35 and Adorondack museum on blue mtn lake. Again @ 30 to 40 min. Hiking trails aplenty. Campfires by the lake at night. Could not ask for more. Owner is close by so if there is a issue he will be on top of it. Will so go there again, ( if we don't find our own for sure ). This area is truly the "Heart of the Adirondacks " !!!

My husband and I just returned from a Memorial Day getaway at this lovely cabin. Everything was spotless and in working order upon our arrival. The cabin seems larger in real life than the pictures show! There is plenty of space to work in the kitchen and it was nicely appointed with all the equipment we needed. The dining area was very cute and it was sweet to see the lake while we ate. The upstairs area is very well laid out and spacious. We totally loved the upper deck and spent a good deal of time out there watching the boats and birds and just soaking up the sun. Even though it was very hot and humid, we were comfortable with the windows open and the ceiling fans running (no AC, but doesn't seem to be necessary). We had a good WiFi signal and could use our laptops. Also had good Verizon phone service. There is no TV there, but I, personally, was grateful to be away from that for the weekend! The owner used to play in a rock and roll band and left a CD for us. We loved it! We even listened to it on the way home. The owner is very personable and answered all my questions thoroughly.
We lucked out that it was very warm and sunny and we were able to take the kayaks out each day. What a gorgeous spot to kayak! Harris Lake is very calm and the cabin sits in a little cove. Water is shallow fairly far from the dock so it would be a great place for kids. The water was warm enough to actually swim in - unbelievable for an Adirondack lake in May!
There are plenty of hiking trails nearby. It was nice to go hiking and come back and cool off in the lake. If you are looking for a VERY pleasant time in the Adirondacks, I strongly recommend you try this cabin. Great value for the price!
This was a perfect spot for our "Glam-ping"/hiking get-away. Located on Harris Lake, a smaller lake just a hop over from Long Lake. It is an isolated spot (perfect for couples or couples with 1-2 kids) well situated near hiking trails that are easy to find. Down the road from Goodnow Trail, The Visitor Interpretive Center and Santononi Preserve just to name a few. My husband and I went the whole week without seeing too many people at all except a couple of quiet neighbors. There are many trail-heads which come off the main road of 28N and it is easy to find one that suits your level. We generally would pick trails that were 5 miles in total and hiked to Stony Pond (easy), Blue Ledges (easy but a bit of a drive to the trail-head) and Goodnow (This was a workout but fun!). It was great to return to the camp and take a swim, light a fire and relax with some wine.
The cabin is very comfortable and has all the niceties you would want while still feeling like you are camping. Everything is well maintained, clean and functioning. Kayak's are provided and the lake is not populated with a lot of motor boats or jet ski's, although you do see one occasionally. It is such a luxury to be right on the lake and have your own private beach.
The town of long lake is about 5 minutes away where you can get supplies or go out to eat if you don't feel like cooking. There are also some activities there like plane rides, ice cream stands etc.
We didn't do any research on the area before hand and did just fine getting around but you can order trail maps ahead of time which might come in handy. I would bring my binoculars and bird book next time, which I forgot. Some of the birds we saw were Heron's on the lake and Raven's at the Blue Ledges. I would like to go back again.
