Ein privates Tal inmitten der majestätischen Hemlocktiefen ließ die Stimmung schwelgen. Fast eine Viertelmeile von Wasserfällen windet sich durch diese 5 Hektar. Dies ist der Ort, um dem Stress des Lebens zu entfliehen. Sie werden mit einem "neuen Leben" nach Hause gehen. Diese Blockhütte befindet sich in der Kurve des Vandergriff Creek, nur 20 Fuß vom Wasser entfernt. Fiel wie ein König in das massive Blockbett der Master-Suite mit einer privaten Veranda. Öffne die Tür und schlafe im plätschernden Wasser ein. Bis die Sonne über dem Berg aufgeht, sind Sie den Bach entlang gelaufen, der von seinem wohltuenden Zauber gezeichnet ist. Kaffee in der Schaukel wird Ihr Tempo für einen erholsamen Tag festlegen. Viel Spaß der alten Schule: Darts, Hufeisen, Bocci-Ball und die Schaukel.

Drei Schlafzimmer auf einer Etage machen es Ihnen leicht. Viel Platz auf 2.200 Quadratmetern. Grillen Sie wie ein Meisterkoch auf dem großen grünen Ei. Alles was Sie brauchen, sind die Steaks. Alles ist da. Die Küche ist wie zu Hause ausgestattet. Stellen Sie mit Wifi, Netflix und Direct TV auf einem 55-Zoll-Super-HD-Fernseher mit Rockfish-Surround-Sound eine Verbindung zur Außenwelt her. Oder entkommen Sie ganz entspannt unter den Hemlocks - wahrscheinlich warum Sie gekommen sind. Machen Sie ein Feuer unter dem Sternenhimmel in unserer Feuerstelle im Freien. Das Holz ist alles gestapelt. Viel zu tun in der Nähe. Weltklasse-Forellenbach ein paar Meilen entfernt mit der Cohutta Fly Fishing School. Fahren Sie auf den Cartecay River in die eine Richtung oder fahren Sie mit dem Kajak den Toccoa in die andere Richtung. Die Trails Appalachian und Benton-MacKaye sind nicht weit. Und niemand sollte in die Berge kommen, ohne die 25 Minuten entfernten Amicalola-Fälle gesehen zu haben. Adorable Ellijay hat viele gute Restaurants - auch 25 Minuten entfernt.

The pictures do not give this property justice. If a peaceful relaxing get away is what your are searching for this property is perfect. The creek is absolutely amazing with lots to explore. Sitting anywhere on the property you can hear the creeks waters. The cabin is simple yet perfect,secluded,peaceful, and all around relaxing. We will definitely be back again.

Another Fantastic Stay

This was our second stay at the cabin. Once again, it did not disappoint. Our goal was to escape the heat of FL and just relax. We did exactly that...the kids played and floated in the creek, we grilled out, and enjoyed time around the campfire. We cooked all of our meals at the cabin and had everything we could have needed in the kitchen. If you are looking for a place that is a bit more removed from town to relax and unwind as you listen to the bubble of the creek this location is ideal!

Another perfect stay

This is year two for our family at this property and we felt right at home. The house was clean and supplied as it should be. Plenty of towels and wash clothes and extra blankets and pillows. Everything you need in the kitchen, unless you are going to cook something special and need something very specific. It was in the 80’s and 90’s but it never feels that way here because of all the tree coverage. My kids spent most of the time on property looking for creatures under the rocks and playing in the creek. They are so content here and never want to be inside. We had two afternoons where it rained but there are plenty of games and puzzles to keep you occupied. We even watched a movie on the smart tv. The only complaint I have is that 5 days were not enough. Don’t think twice about booking this property.

Beautiful and peaceful

We love this property. It’s the second time we’ve stayed there, and perfect for kids! Our 5 year old son loved playing in the creek. The cabin is comfortable and cozy. Always very clean and welcoming. The creek, fire pit, screened in patio and back porch with the green egg are just perfect for an amazing and relaxing vacation. We loved it so much the first time that we came back! The cabin is perfect! Cathy has stocked it with everything you’ll need. The creek and surrounding area is so peaceful. The drive from the main road is a little scary but totally worth it when you see the cabin. I’d recommend a truck though not necessary. Cathy, thanks for sharing this wonderful place. Amazing home and property!

My husband, our two daughters (9 and 7), and I had a wonderful spring break trip at this property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely book this cabin again in the future. The property itself is amazing! It’s private, well-kept, and so much fun for the kids. Even though it was cold, my daughters had a blast jumping rocks to cross the creeks to a little island. I’m obsessed with the tulip magnolia in the front yard. The cabin itself is beautiful. You can tell a family loves this home, as it’s well-stocked with everything you might need. For example, have a power strip between the nightstand/bed makes it much easier to quickly set up your home away from home. Everything was clean and fresh, and the house is incredibly cozy! My girls loved the loft area. Cathy, the host, is very quick with responses and information. Her detailed instructions ensured we found the cabin easily, without cell service and in the dark. She is friendly and easy to work with! If you are looking to enjoy the outdoors and have some quality family time, this is the place for you!

Beautiful and Spacious Cabin!

Beautiful Cabin, our family's first Christmas getaway!!! The cabin was very spacious and clean. This was the first cabin where they actually were extra supplies we had plenty of towels and blankets. My kids and grandkids loved it! We experienced power outage due to the weather but my husband came prepared with his generator. And those wood burning heaters was great!!! We never had a cabin before with with wood burning heater before and it was awesome! But once the power came back on we were good to go! Scrable and Monoply was fun fun fun!!! It was freezing cold outside the entire time so we were not able to have outdoor experience on the beautiful property. Last but not least, the property owners were very nice, always always responded back right away. She was very nice and gave great details about the property. Make sure you get all supplies before you get to the cabin. The drive back into the town is at least 25 to 30 mins. My husband did have to make a trip into town but one day. Overall I would visit this cabin again and I would highly recommend it!! We have been to plenty of cabins and this one makes my list of favorite cabin trips.

Got away from everything out in these woods

I hesitate to leave reviews like this because I hope to stay here again and hope to find it available; but I have no choice but to leave a review that would likely make this home far less available in the future! It’s perfect. It has everything you need for any season for a quiet, relaxing, unplugged stay in the mountains. It is beautiful. It is perfect for families or groups of friends. The creek is amazing in its sounds and beauty. We were here as a group of friends celebrating a 50th birthday, and we gathered all together in the living room, around the dining table, on the porches, and around the campfire. Plenty of hiking trails enjoyed by the hikers among us. As advice to future visitors, I’d say come here only if you’re prepared to enjoy the property. It’s a waste of its wonder if you just crash here at night and spend the daytime traveling the area. Also, because of the mountainous location, it’s a good 30-45 minutes to anywhere from the house. Good idea to find your last chance gas station and fill up before arrival- that will give you plenty of exploring miles without having to find the nearest gas station. Anytime you head out, fully load your map/directions and download trail maps from the house wifi as otherwise you’ll need old-fashioned backup means in the area. The roads in the area are steep and windy and some are gravel roads. Being comfortable on forest service roads makes the most of exploration potential.

Best cabin in Elijay

This cabin is beautiful. And a nice surprise the beds are amazing. I’ve traveled a lot and normally beds are okay but these beds are super comfy. Cabin is very clean and has everything you need. It really is a home away from home. And Cathy the host is so nice and helpful. She was a delight to work with and was super patient with all my questions. We loved it so much the first day my family said we would book here again. Thx Cathy for an incredible stay!!

An amazing getaway!

We had such an amazing time at the cabin. It was everything we hoped it would be. We had no issues finding the cabin. I would definitely suggest arriving before dark because it is a lot of winding roads. Once you drive the roads a few times though you become a pro! We loved exploring the property and walking through the creeks! The kitchen had everything we needed and we enjoyed cooking on the big green egg! The pictures of the creek does not do it justice. It winds all through the property making you feel like you are in another world. I wish we could have stayed longer!!!

Tranquility. This is the place to come to escape the stresses of this world. The talking creek washes them away. Dozens of vantage points to let it immerse you. We looked for four years then knew instantly that this was where we wanted to spend our days. Never rented before, its always been a family retreat and feels like it. We hope you find what we experience each time we come.

The Hemlock Story
The hemlock is a majestic conifer tree that meanders the mountain streams of the Appalachians. At up to a hundred feet in height, it shades the waters that are its ecosystem and keeps temperatures ideal for trout habitat. But the tree is threatened. The Hemlock Wooly Adelgid a small scale insect was introduced from Japan and with no natural enemies has devastated hemlocks in the Eastern US. It kills these magnificent trees in roughly five years time. Our property along Vandergriff creek is very unique to have 160 beautiful hemlocks concentrated along the creek bank. Having no idea about hemlocks or this threatening pest, we bought the property five years ago to quickly discover that the trees which nestled our cabin-in-the-woods were infested and struggling to survive. I took this as an urgent challenge. We researched a cure and began treating each tree (complicated soil injection around the base). Several trees were too far gone but we've been able to watch as the trees re-foliate very gradually from the tiny crown of needles that was left in the top. Having lost less than a dozen trees, we are excited to live inside a wonderful restored “cove” of these majestic giants. These beautiful trees make this a truly unique setting.
