This historic 1876 house always draws a "Wow!" when people first see it. It's a central-entrance Greek Revival Colonial with period architcetural features, but beautifully maintained and retaining all the original interior features that made it special in 1876: exterior pediments and dentils, wood shutters that still work, interior mouldings, and many built-ins that make living here both beautiful and convenient.
We added a huge family room that adjoins the conveniently designed kitchen and allows all 12 guests to join together for conversation and indoor activities. An outdoor deck is right off the family room and has couches, chairs and tables for everyone to enjoy outdoor relaxing and eating.
A spectacular, skylighted 3rd floor attic has been added as a child's game room or TV room, away from the adjults, and provides ping pong and foosball tables and comfortable seating.
The best feature, however, is the location - walkable to everything great about Marblehead and in the Historic District. Salem, Massachusetts is a short drive away by car or by public transportation, and Boston can be accessed by a nearby bus line and subway system, therby eliminating the need to have a car.
There are so many unique hidden walkways and stairs in Marblehead that you will undoubtedly spend many hours exploring the neighborhood and each time you will find something interesting you missed the last time!
