Our initial plans were to stay closer to St. Augustine but we put off booking and missed out on places we'd chosen. How fortunate! We decided to look closer to the St. John's River and a more serene vacation and we found Walker's Point! What a great place for an escape! So roomy, so clean, so comfortable. It looks just as the pictures show. Our family of five adults had ample room to "be together" or "be alone." The location is perfect--you are away from it all, yet, just a short drive to places to eat and things to do. We made three trips to St. Augustine to sight-see. Also, spent one afternoon at Ravine Gardens State Park that was enjoyable in spite of the heat. Hanging around the house was a good option, too. We brought a boat and left it right out back in the canal for quick fishing trips. Our stay was for a week but we were enjoying ourselves so much we added an extra day. Could have definitely stayed longer but work was waiting.
We ate at Corky Bell's two nights of our stay. All five of us had something different and we were all completely happy with our choices--good food, good service. One day we ate lunch at the Whistle Stop Café (it has another name that I don't recall but the Whistle Stop sign is out front) and had ice cream--all delicious.
Last but definitely not least, David, Peggy, and Patricia are super! They live in the two places next door and have kind of a family compound--which we became part of as soon as we arrived! Such nice people to interact with, like the best part of family; and readily available if needed. My husband has already booked the place for an upcoming tournament and we look forward to returning as a family, also.
We vacation as a family-my husband and I, our son, our daughter and her husband-every year and this is one of the best places we've stayed. So relaxing! And, again, the owners are such nice folks!
It was a pleasure communicating with David, Peggy, and Patricia. They are all extremely friendly. The pictures in the listing depict what you see. The listing was very accurate. It was very clean and smelled so fresh when we arrived. Had a problem with the grill, but David got it fixed very quickly. We enjoyed an afternoon at the local movie theater. We did go to a couple of the local restaurants and they also treated us as family. When inquiring about the property, I had mentioned that this trip was to allow use to relax. This was the right place to do it at. We rented a pontoon from a Marina just about one mile from the property and went out on the creek and river when we wanted. If you have your own boat you are a step ahead. Lot of places to fish on the creek or river. We saw a few gators, raccoons, variety of birds, and a manatee. I am and will continue to tell my friends and family about this place. Everyone we have shared our photos with thought it was great!
Where to start. Beautiful scenery, wildlife, great fishing, nice cozy house, wonderful owners. Just about unbelieveable. We rented for the month of April and have already reserved for next year. We were extremely impressed with the professional and extremely friend service the owners provided thru the whole prcess of renting and staying at their property. Can hardly wait to go back next year and years to come. Great people and location.
Staying at Walker's Point for the months of January and February was a real treat as well as a retreat! The setting is very quiet and peaceful, and the surroundings are so serene. This home is at the end of the street with a wonderful view of Dunn's Creek and the St. John's River. Birds abound, and nature is truly at your doorstep.
The warm hospitality and friendliness of the owners is really amazing!
We were welcomed with open arms, and our every request/question was given prompt and friendly attention.
Access to the river, if you have a boat, is ideal.
We found good restaurants and interesting parks to explore. Its location between Gainesville and St. Augustine makes it an easy day-trip to find birds or explore interesting places in this part of Florida.
We had a vacation to remember and are so glad we found this property for our winter get-away.
One of my best weekend vacation. What a beautiful house!! Details are above and beyond expectation! If you thought you needed something, the owner did too. We spent 2 and 1/2 months at Walker's Point and we really enjoyed our stay. It is a beautiful house with plenty of room and all the things you would ever wish for. It is decorated like no other place we have ever rented. We would recommend it to anybody that wants a fully furnished place on the waterfront. If you have a boat it is a great place to be. Even if you don't have a boat it is a nice peaceful place to rent. The owner's go out of the way to make sure your stay is great. Lee and Yvonne

bietet viele kostenlose Leistungen.
Lokale Freundschaften und andere Gruppen haben zahlreiche laufende Gesundheit
und Freizeitaktivitäten und Ausflüge, und lokale Über 50 Club und andere
Gruppen haben wöchentliche und / oder monatliche Tänze. Kirchen aller
Konfessionen sind mit dem Auto erreichbar.
