We stayed at Caroline's for a week after spending our first two nights at a downtown hotel with another traveler. We could not have been happier!
Yes, it is two flights of steps to get to the rooms, but when you get to the top, it is lovely. There is a bedroom and a separate small sitting room, where my husband--a very early riser--could sit and drink coffee while I slept in.
Public transportation in London is phenomenal and it was so convenient to Caroline's house. The closest bus was just a 4 minute walk, but there were a number of times we chose to walk to or from the Underground through a beautiful park/cemetery.
There were a few days that we would go out early in the day, swing in around mid-afternoon for a quick break from the hustle and bustle of central London, and then head back downtown for an evening activity.
Her place is also just a 10 minute walk from the Bishops Palace and a walking path along the Thames. That was one of our favorite activities.
For days when we spent the whole day exploring London, we were able to head back to Caroline's and find a number of restaurant choices in her neighborhood.
It was our first time in London, and we loved it! We would stay at Caroline's again in a heartbeat!
