Outdated, unclean, uncomfortable, overgrown

Had to climb through overgrown backyard to get in and out of the house, one person in our group got stung twice by wasps. The interior of the house and furniture was very old and had the feel like someone still lived there and just left for the weekend. Cabinets and drawers were full of previous owners junk. The upstairs couch was extremely uncomfortable to sit on. The back cushion of the couch was broken down and took up half the couch. We ended up removing it and just using the throw pillows to lean on of which some had ripped seems with stuffing that was coming out. The twin beds and full bed were very broken down. We had a couple that slept in the full bed and stated that the bed was so broken down that they would just roll to the center. The twin beds downstairs were on wheels that sat on hardwood floors so when rolling over they would shift around on the floor during the night.The shower curtain was full of black and orange mold, it was disgusting. One person in our group has mold allergies. The vents were caked with dust.The kitchen sink smelled like rotten eggs. We had to pour bleach down it otherwise the smell was unbearable. The bbq was so dirty that we chose not to use it.Front door is locked by key access only from both side so we could only leave through the back door. This is a questionable violation of fire code as we only had one way out. Kitchen chairs were wobbly, dish washer racks are destroyed.We would not stay again, feel we deserve money back

Overall it’s fair

Plenty of space in the house. Unfortunately, the finished basement was unusable where the largest TV and lounging area is located. There was water in the basement and it smelled horrible. Tried to work with the property manager on discounting our stay based upon the unusable space with no success…

Nice place

The house is cute and clean. It’s located in a fairly busy area of town so I was surprised at how quiet it was. My only problem with the house was not a house problem but a me problem. I have bad knees and the stairs were too much for my old creaky knees. Other than that, it was great.

This was our second stay at this place. There were many improvements from the last time were there. It is also 1/2 a block from St. Cloud Hospital which was really nice!

Comfortable and family friendly home

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at this house. The kids get excited to come to the "garden house" with stashes of games and puzzles, colorful and fun rooms, and raspberries to pick. We love the comfortable beds, being near the neighborhood park, and relaxing in the sun room while the kids are busy playing.

Great home and location

Only issue was a couple door knobs need to be looked at and some bugs but I’m not from Minnesota so not sure how they do bug spray there. Maybe a walkway from back garage area to home also. Great home

Nice Property with great location

Overall we enjoyed the property. Several minor issues: Stove light out. Had to replace both lights in master bedroom nightstands. Bathtub was filthy, we cleaned before kids took a bath. Towel holder in upstairs bathroom fell off. Screens in upstairs bedroom had holes which prevented us to open for fresh air. The cleaning person needs to spend a bit more time in cleaning the floors. With that said, we would stay there again, most of these issue were minor and can be taken care of. We would stay there again next time in St Cloud. The owner was attentive and allowed us to arrive at 1pm rather than 4pm.

Good location but filthy

House is older and not for people with mobility issues as it has many steep stairs to get upstairs and downstairs. This was not a problem for us and we had plenty of room. Location is good but that is where it unfortunately ended for us. House is NOT clean, black mold in bathroom, sconces and light fixtures had layers of filth and dust webs, dirty dishes in the cupboards and drawers, garbage under couch. I have never had to leave a negative review in all the many rentals I have used and I hate to do it but just feel like I need to make you all aware..hopefully it gets thoroughly cleaned soon.

Weekend in St Cloud

The property in St Cloud is within driving distance to the campus and restaurants. It has two nice sized bedrooms upstairs with a half bath. The main level has an additional bedroom with twin beds and a full bath. The house was comfortable to stay in. We used the kitchen to heat up soups for dinner and made breakfast in the mornings. The pots and pans could have been better but it worked. For a weekend getaway to see a college student, it was just what we needed.

Property Upkeep

One of the most challenging things about our stay is that one of our group is severely handicapped. Walking is very difficult. She uses 2 canes and a walker. I contacted the owner and asked about handicapped access. I did not receive a reply. The outside of the house had not been trimmed. There were broken steps entering the house with the tiles haphazardly stacked on the first step. There were no handrails so she had to use the ledge of the window to help keep her balance when entering and leaving the property. She was unable to bathe during the weekend as the tub entrance was too high and difficult for her to get into. Overall, the house looked clean, but the screens were tattered and torn. Many windows had no screens. The house smelled musty, and it took a day of airing it to get the smell out. Many of the windows could not be opened. The windowsills were extremely dirty and filled with spider webs. We never could figure out getting into the lock box to be able to use the front door. Although disappointed, we made it work and spent our time on the main floor and outside sitting at the metal table and chairs without cushions. The basement was the best room in the house but due to her handicap, we were unable to use it. The bedrooms were adequate, as posted in the description. Few outlets in the bedrooms so bringing extension cords would be helpful.
