Charmantes Apartment mit einem Schlafzimmer auf einer Alpaka-Farm! Gäste werden jeden Morgen mit zwei Alpakas, Beethoven und Sebastian, der auf Ihre Küchentür kommen wird, in der Hoffnung, einen Apfel eingespeist werden. Das Erdgeschoss-Wohnung verfügt über eine große Wohnküche, Wohnzimmer, gemütliche Studie "nook", Badezimmer (mit Waschmaschine) und einen separaten Eingang. Highspeed-Internet und Wi-Fi zur Verfügung. Schöne Aussicht auf die Berge von der Küche, friedlich und ruhig.

Ob an einer Promotion an einer der den Bereich der fünf Hochschulen oder viele Privatschulen oder einfach der Suche nach einige ruhige Zeit von einem eiligen Existenz, wird ein Aufenthalt im Eulenhaus Ihren Besuch zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis. Besuche in West County im frühen Frühling für Pfannkuchen und unsere legendäre Ahornsirup, Rafting und Zip Line-Touren im Sommer, Herbst Festivals im Oktober und Winterzeit Skifahren in den nahe gelegenen Berkshire East Skipisten sind ein paar andere Gründe, um uns auf den Weg zu kommen.

Denn wir haben Alpakas und unseren wunderbaren Gt. Pyrenees puppy, können wir nicht zulassen, dass andere Tiere auf dem Grundstück. Wir hoffen jedoch, dass Sie uns genießen!

Es besteht ein Rauchverbot auf dem Gelände. Eines wollen die frische, reine Luft dieser reizvollen Umgebung atmen können und genießen die Beobachtung der Sterne in einer vollkommenen schwarzen Himmel in der Nacht.

Amazing Stay!

Caroline was an amazing host. She went out of her way to make us feel accommodated and comfortable. The place is lovely, quiet, and clean. Her alpacas, Sebastian and Peanut, were a huge bonus in our stay and are both adorable and very friendly. Would highly recommend!

Wintry Alpaca Wonderland

I had such a lovely stay at the Owl's Nest! My short visit was also the visit of some real wintry weather, and Caroline stayed in close touch with me to ensure a safe arrival and cozy stay. Her incredibly warm welcome and country hospitality were terrific, and starting each morning with the dogs and alpacas was a country dream. I'll be going back for sure!

My teens and I stayed at Caroline’s for 4 nights and we really enjoyed the coolness of the lower level even with mid-summer heat outside. Charmingly appointed. Lots of wildlife nearby, and the alpaca are fun to feed.

Fall Foliage Getaway

Charming apartment in woodsy area

I loved the rustic charm, woodsy area, proximity to UMass and beautiful Shelburne Falls. Comfortable and relaxing. I loved feeding the alpacas Peanut and Sebastien apples in the morning. Daisy (dog) was also super sweet. Great view of the stars also.

Perfect country retreat

Caroline was incredibly nice and great to talk to, and the alpacas were wonderful. The place was beautifully equipped and comfortable, and a perfect spot for two old friends to catch up with wine and food and nonstop conversation in front of the fire. It feels far from civilization but is actually quite close to Shelburne Falls.

A special place

What a lovely place. So cozy, so well equipped, so delightful. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Beethoven and Sebastian were perfect gentlemen and wonderful ambassadors. It was great to have a full kitchen, and everything worked perfectly. Caroline was a terrific host, helpful with suggestions about the area and solicitous of our experience at Owl’s Nest. We just absolutely loved our stay here. The flat itself is cozy, with a modern kitchen and a living room that's perfect for sitting and reading or chatting.The alpacas are delightful and you can feed them apple slices. There are also two beautiful dogs.And then there's Caroline, who owns the farm. She's a lovely person and gave us so many good tips about where to go and what to see. I would have completely missed the Bridge of Flowers, for instance, if she hasn't mentioned it.The farm is also close to a lot of interesting places -- we visited MassMOCA, and Raven Books in Shelbourne Falls, got delicious ice cream in Northampton and breakfast in Ashfield. Overall a delightful experience

Cute Rural Hobby Farm

While the rain tried to keep us away, we came to stay a couple nights here, hoping for a nice weekend away to celebrate our first anniversary. We gambled on this place, even without any pictures of sleeping/living areas, because of the animals. Given of the setup of the rental area, an inlaw-style suite under the main living area and built into the side of a hill, however, it was plagued by a sense of damp: the smell was apparent upon arrival. In the host’s defense, she was fighting against about a week of solid rain, which couldn’t have helped. We were charmed by the countryside but left wanting for a tidier, more well-kept rental area. Overall, we enjoyed celebrating our anniversary, but this was a one-time visit.

Emily, I'm sorry that your visit was not satisfactory for you. I went out of my way to accommodate you even though you arrived two hours after the check in time. As I said when you arrived, it had been raining for two solid weeks and was very humid as well. I kept the dehumidifiers running 24/7 so that it would help with the humidity. Unfortunately, you did not communicate with me at all after your check in and when you left early, you did not inform me. I waited up until 1:00 a.m. because I was concerned about you. I would have appreciated it if you had the courtesy to let me know that you were leaving early. Fortunately, I have been blessed with guests who communicate well and have had mostly 5 star reviews. It is unfortunate that you did not communicate with me at all before you left early and went out of your way to write a negative review without giving me the opportunity to respond .while you were here.

A very pleasant stay!

The owner, Caroline, was very welcoming and always immediately responsive to any of my emails. She was a gracious hostess, helping us to know what was available in the area. The pictures really didn't do the place justice. The apartment was adorable and had such fun personality. Everything we needed was there. The setting was beautiful. Sitting outside, all you could here was nature. A lovely opportunity to relax and reset. And then there were Sebastian and Peanut, the alpacas. They visited regularly, charmed us into feeding them apples and were super fun. We would definitely make a return visit.

5-Star Review for Caroline’s VRBO!!!My friend and I had the pleasure of spending a peaceful retreat at Caroline’s charming space over the course of a few days (which included New Year’s Eve), and it was truly a magical experience. Each morning we were greeted by Peanut and Sebastian (Caroline's alpacas) just outside our front door—a unique touch that made our stay unforgettable.Caroline’s home is the epitome of rustic coziness. The wood stove kept us warm and comfortable, while the well-equipped kitchen, complete with cast iron pans, allowed us to prepare delicious meals.In addition to the alpacas, we got to meet the rest of Caroline’s wonderful animal family, including her sweet pups Daisy and Eli, and her cat, Pumpkin. As animal lovers, this was an absolute joy.Caroline herself is a remarkable host—welcoming, attentive, and incredibly kind. Her warm personality made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. For anyone seeking a serene getaway surrounded by nature and lovely animals, I wholeheartedly recommend staying at Caroline’s. It’s a haven of tranquility, and I can’t wait to return with more friends and family!

Visit in June

We enjoyed our visit to Conway. The animals were lovely and the owner kindly provided fruit to feed them and made sure that we had interactions with the alpacas. The rental unit is downstairs and could use a thorough cleaning and was musty after months of disuse due to Covid. The area has lots of wonderful towns to visit and the rental is located in a quiet location.

Sarah, I'm sorry that the apartment didn't live up to your expectations. From the first time that I met you, I had the impression that you were expecting the apartment to be upstairs which is clear from the description of the property, that it is not. Due to safety concerns of Covid, I have been very careful about thoroughly cleaning the apartment before and after guests have been there. As I recall, the weekend that you were there, it was rainy, and extremely hot and humid. Unfortunately, you did not keep the door shut which allowed the humidity and heat to enter the apartment. When humidity comes into an apartment and the dehumidifier is not emptied (which I do not believe you did), it creates a "musty" environment. Thankfully, I have not had any complaints from guests either before and after your visit about the condition of the apartment.

This place has a lot of personality. Caroline was a friendly and accomodating host. Meeting and feeding her two alpacas (Sebastian and Peanut) and her dog (Daisy) were a highlight of the trip. The apartment featured comfortable and attractive furnishings and decorations. The location, about a half hour from Northampton and 10 minutes from Shelburne Falls, makes this a great base for day outings in the area.

Peanut, Sebastian, and Daisy were awesome!

We needed to stay a few nights near UMass for graduation, saw "alpacas" and was hooked. Caroline is great and hand excellent suggestions for places to eat and visit and directions to campus. The animals were fantastic and we loved spending time with them.

Friendly alpacas, beautiful setting, welcoming hostess.

We enjoyed our stay at Caroline's basement-level Owl's Nest very much. Getting woken up by hungry, inquisitive alpacas every morning was absolutely delightful! The house is situated in a lovely part of the state that was an excellent home base for adventures. Many thanks for the hospitality!

A Relaxing Weekend in the Berkshires!

Thank you to Caroline, Gabriel, Sebastian and Beethoven for providing us with a relaxing weekend in a beautiful setting. Caroline is great host and made sure that we had everything that we needed for our stay. Her place is so cozy and makes a great base from which to explore the area. The beautiful town of Shelburne Falls is close by and sightseeing around NW Massachusetts and even into Vermont is easy from her location. Then there are Gabriel, Sebastian and Beethoven! Gabriel is so stately as watches over everything. And the morning visits from Sebastian and Beethoven for their apple treats is just something that we'll always remember. Our only regret is that we couldn't spend more time here. We're already planning a return trip!

Alpacas! Wonderful host! The best vaca!

This was the best Thanksgiving we've had in years! We chose Caroline's rustic little cabin based on 'Alpacas coming to the kitchen door to be fed apples.' It was truly a special place! The Alpacas did come right to the kitchen door to be fed treats, we discovered Beethoven the caramel alpaca looved sliced bananas! We have so many great pictures and videos of the alpacas, Leo the kitty and Gabriel the gorgeous and friendly Pyrennes. Caroline was so helpful with things to do, places to go, with a sharp sense of humor and such kindness. She made sure our wood burning stove had a roaring fire each day when we got home from being out and about. She also taught our daughter how to spin wool from her own alpacas with way more patience than even I would have had. We were as sad to leave her as we were to leave this bucolic little spot. We were able to take the Alpacas on a walks, cut down our own Christmas tree, find the best diary/orchard for the most amazing egg nog, maple candy, and apples- all with Caroline! She helped us to create so many wonderful holiday memories, this was definitely the best place we have ever stayed at! The area is absolutely gorgeous, with rolling hills, forests, old covered bridges, waterfalls. This area is also the best for antiques (which we love), with diamond in the rough stores such as Country Things in Charlemane, Yesterday's Antiques in Deerfield, Jan & John Maggs Antiques in Conway. Everyone was so kind and genuine. The whole experience was absolutely wonderful and we dream of going back again in the Spring! Until then we will miss Caroline and her furry family!

Individually, you are each remarkable people and as a family, you are amazing - kind, thoughtful, and caring. My animals loved you as well, and Beethoven will be forever grateful that you introduced him to bananas. He now insists on having a banana as well as an apple for their daily treats! Thank you for choosing the Owl's Nest as your Thanksgiving "getaway". Having you stay here, enjoying all that the area has to offer, with sweet Lily enjoying sledding and all of you nurturing the animals, was a special treat for me as well... I couldn't have asked for more wonderful guests!

Visitors almost always comment about 'how quiet' it is at the Owl's Nest. While it feels isolated, it is also within an easy driving distance to several dynamic and fun towns where there is much to entertain one. Guests especially enjoy going to the town of Shelburne Falls, only 4 miles away, where there are numerous restaurants, galleries and when open, the Bridge of Flowers. Northampton, a vibrant college town, is 25 minutes away and offers great restaurants. Amherst, another great college town, is only 35 minutes away, and has much to offer all year round.

A stay at the Owl's Nest will help a visitor remember the simpler delights of life and connect one with the joy of animals. There is nothing finer (or funnier!) than watching an alpaca come to your door (when called, of course!) ready to eat his morning apple. It is equally entertaining to observe the interactions between a large and "gentle giant" Leonberger who also comes to receive a treat because she wants to do what her alpaca "brothers" do!
