A heavenly sanctuary

We loved our stay! It is a heavenly sanctuary. A step back in time at the cottage beautifully updated with characterful features. The grounds are stunning. The view of the lake from the deck with the firepit is just lovely with a morning coffee . Only a short drive to Gatlinburg !

We enjoyed our stay at the Log Cabin at Strawberry Creek! The kitchen has a drip coffee maker, microwave and most cookware to prepare meals. The A/C worked very well to kept the heat out and the internet and ability to stream shows using our subscriptions was a plus! My younger son even hooked up his X-box and it worked great! Our dog loved the freedom of running in the grass on the huge property and bird and dragonfly watching near the pond. Loved being greeted by the horses at the front entrance too! Truly a memorable experience!!

So cute!!!

The cabin is so cute and comfy!! We felt like we were in the middle of the woods but didn’t have to go super far! The back deck is so relaxing to hang out on and sit by the pond! The tub downstairs is so cool too!!! Everything was ready to go when we got there and communication was super easy! We love going to national parks so it was awesome to be within driving distance of the smokies!

Will definitely be back!!!

Perfect place to stay if you don’t want the craziness off pigeon forge/Gatlinburg. 30-45 min drive to those areas, but close to Knoxville too. Was great for us as we were there to go to Tennessee Smokies games. This cabin was simply amazing!! Excellent space for relaxing as a family! Looking forward to coming back with friends! Loft areas are open so not a ton of privacy for bedrooms but perfect for family or close friends.

Spring break getaway

Relaxing trip with the family. Cabin was exactly as described. It was a wonderful stay not to far from Pigeon Forge or Knoxville. Loved the property. Clean, great amenities, only thing to note is the upstairs is one large open area so no real privacy if staying upstairs. Private bedroom downstairs. Not an issue since staying with family.

The property was absolutely beautiful and has inspired my wife and I as we renovate our home and design our own cabin. From Quaker to Victorian, it is a beautiful blend of styles. As an old cabin, it has some inherent issues, but all were workable and in the end they stay was worth the cost. Bobby was communicative through the stay. Thanks!

Unfortunately, you did not let us know about any issue with the home neither at arrival nor when checking out or during your stay. We would have been happy to have sent housekeeping to the home to take care of any issues you had there had you let us know. We work hard to maintain our ratings and to provide a great experience for our guests but if we don't know there is an issue, it makes it difficult to correct. I think we are most disappointed in this review because of the fact that we talked to you on several occasions, and you never mentioned these issues.

A must stay!!!!

This gorgeous property is one of the most historic and updated log cabins I’ve ever stayed in! Nestled next to a spring fed pond on a private 55 acre horse farm, it is a dream getaway close to downtown Knoxville. Bobby and staff went over and beyond what you would expect of any host! Every need was met and any communication had a response within SECONDS! There are two bathrooms, one on each floor. Downstairs has an amazing hand hammered copper tub! Sleeping for 8 guests and plenty of space! We loved it and love that it functions as a wedding venue year round as well. You have to check out the event space, just amazing. PERFECT get-a-way, we’ll be back!

Beautiful Scenery

We are very thankful to have stayed in this relaxing retreat. There was ample room for our family of 5, the youngest 11. The grounds were beautiful with hiking to the local horse stables/venue where they host events. Very impressive. There was a lake next to the house with canadian geese and their babies. We enjoyed sitting on the patio and relaxing with the quiet surroundings and bird watching. The relaxing room next to the patio with its large windows made you feel like you were camping outdoors. We enjoyed the wood/timber throughout the home and the way the owners have kept the place up, we would stay here again. It is about 20min from Crown College where we visited. Thank-you again

Convenient but needs TLC (or price adjustment)

Pros: pretty location that is convenient to downtown Knoxville, very responsive/friendly owner. Cons: very dirty - dusty/musty/cob-web laden. If it was only $150/night, probably would have shrugged it off. Needs professional/deep cleaning. Also, don't know how 10ppl could comfortably visit w/single bathroom (multiple beds in a bedroom doesn't necessarily mean it's the best for larger parties).

I am glad that i get to respond to this. This couple came and I never saw a smile. I greeted them and cleaned from a very dirty group over Thanksgiving weekend to get the cabin ready because this couple wanted flexible dates, to be able to stay only two selected nights out of a 4 day weekend, which I worked with them on. Additionally, they brought their dogs, which I allowed, and admitted that the dog might use the bathroom inside if not watched. It rained the entire time they were at the cabin, so that may have contributed to their poor spirits. Also, I have YET to find one "COBWEB LADEN" area. I have never had a bad review or one complaint, nor did I have ONE complaint from this couple during their stay. I always make sure that guests know they can request anything. I politely asked the guests to modify this critique and they did not respond to any request by phone or email. Had I known these guests would act this way, I would have declined to go out of my way over a holiday weekend to accommodate their numerous requests. Please read all of our other reviews from guests and reach out to me with any questions or concerns! This is the most awesome and unique property in East Tennessee.

Hidden Gem takes you back in time!

My grandson and I stayed here for 3 nights. We appreciated every single detail. Soo many favorites with this place. 1. Only 3 miles from my mom’s house. 2. The expertise in design and decor while still capturing the age of the cabin. 3. We explored every inch of this 240 year old home. The rope bridge between rooms upstairs, fireplaces, rock spiral staircase, huge copper tub and cute toilet hahaha. The living room literally brings the outside in with walls of windows. This hidden gem takes you back in time. I can only imagine the beauty of staying here for a wedding. WOW! Love the stables. Only few horses on premises. The grounds were well kept. Even wildlife to entertain. Peaceful ponds with fountain was so relaxing. Had only a few negatives that were handled professionally. We enjoyed entertaining our guests each day. PLUS we had our doggy with us. Will book this place again for sure!!

Great place for a family gathering.

The setting was beautiful. The cabin has some quirky things about it, that can make it a really cool place to stay for a family. We basically just used the cabin to sleep. We ate all out meals out so I can't comment on the kitchen, other than it was nice and clean. In fact, the whole place was very clean. The throws In the living room needed to be washed BC they did not smell fresh and the sofas in the living room, though comfortable needed to be cleaned or updated. The DVD player was not connected and the remote was either the wrong remote or it didn't work, so watching a movie was a struggle. Lastly, the outdoor firepit was a wonderful touch, but it would be nice if for the price of the stay, at least some wood was included for the guest to use. I understand that wood cost money and effort but to dangle the firepit but then not be able to use it unless the renter provides his own wood is not a good set up.

Thank you for the review! We are always grateful for the opportunity to continue what we do well and fix what needs fixing. The throws were in a basket and now are cleaned after every stay for the winter season! To address the wood for the outdoor fire pit, each guest is offered wood delivery at the beginning of their stay or anytime throughout. Use of the existing wood for a fee or delivery is specifically offered. At the discounted mid-week rates that the Kennedys enjoyed, we are unable to offer over $500 in free wood that sits in holders that act as a safety barrier by the deck, otherwise a guest could burn more firewood than the entire stay was worth. However, we appreciate the opportunity to respond and always offer guests the opportunity to bring their own wood, use any wood on our 55 acres of East Tennessee woods, or request wood from our maintenance and hospitality staff here at The Stables at Strawberry Creek.
