Wenn Sie angeln möchten, fragen Sie bei uns nach und wir akzeptieren häufig Last-Minute-Vermietungen von Januar bis März, selbst wenn der Kalender ausgebucht ist.

WARUM IN EINEM KLEINEN HOTELZIMMER BLEIBEN, wenn Sie den Komfort eines Zuhauses in einer wunderschönen Umgebung haben können.

Dies ist ein privates Ferienhaus am Smith River, komplett ausgestattet mit allen modernen Annehmlichkeiten. Sehr privat auf einem Hektar Land. Alle von der Natur Landschaftsgärten mit vielen Pinien, Zedern, Tannen und Bäume madrone.

Unser Ferienhaus liegt in der Smith River National Recreation Area am Ufer dieses unberührten Fluss. Nur acht Meilen westlich ist Redwood-Nationalpark, wo einige der höchsten Mammutbäume in der Welt befinden.

Zwanzig Meilen westlich liegt der Pazifische Ozean und der südlichen Eingang der Küste von Oregon. Fünfzig Meilen östlich sind die Oregon Caves National Monument. Wir haben 150 Fuß von Ufergrundstuecken, wo man, Schwimmen, Schnorcheln, Kajak, Kanu, Floß, Fisch, oder einfach nur entspannen und die Landschaft genießen.

Wenn Sie in den Winter Steelhead Fischerei sind, ist dies der Ort, an, im Dezember und dauert bis März sein. Es gibt mehrere Angelplätze auf dem Grundstück und in der Gegend können wir Sie auch führen. Wenn der Fluss am Ende der Rampe ist, ist das Fischen genau richtig!

Road Trip

This stay was our stopping point of a 2024 road trip. We wish we could have stayed longer because sitting on the back deck looking at the crystal clear Smith River was just wonderful. And being so close to the Redwood National Park was an added bonus. Marian and John were great hosts and gave us suggestions on some additional hikes close by. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

Redwoods Get Away

Our stay at BMH was wonderful. The place was just as advertised. We had plenty of room during our stay. This was the perfect base camp for exploring the surrounding Redwood parks. The area was quiet and the cabin being right on the Smith River was a plus. The deck overlooking the river was also very inviting. The place was clean and had all stated appliances. If ever I return to this area I know this is where I'll stay!

It has a great view/location. Kitchen is well equipped. We stayed there during raining season and we were hoping to be able to use the fire place to dry out shoes/clothes but it did not work.

As always the perfect getaway. The only downside to staying at this lovely home is the trouble deciding whether to go out and partake of the many nearby adventures or to just stay on the deck and soak up all that the passing river has to offer! Marian, thanks again for your hospitality!

Comfortable launching point for Redwood exploration

Our family of 5 immensely enjoying this home as our launching place for Redwoods National and State Parks. Marian was fantastic with timely communications and even so gracious as to loan a crockpot!!! The home is definitely dated but clean and in good working order. The setting on the Smith River is serene, relaxing and a cozy location to sit out the storm that greeted us. Crescent City is just 20 minutes away. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home!

Bliss in Gasquet

Our stay at the BMH VRBO was amazing! The hiking in that region is spectacular. The Smith River is probably one of the most beautiful rivers I've seen. I'm an old guy, I've seen a lot of rivers and lakes. The sleeping accommodations were great and the beds were very comfortable. Marian, the host, is a gem! Terrific communication and readily available when we had a slight challenge with the hot water. She delivered some fresh eggs to us one afternoon which we thoroughly enjoyed the next morning. I would highly recommend staying at the BMH.

Perfect River cabin

My husband and I had a lovely, peaceful week at BMH cabin this year. Our favorite place to sit in the afternoons was the wide deck overlooking the Smith River with its unobstructed views. There's also a nice dining table/chairs on the deck, and a fine bbq unit and a sink. The interior is very well equipped and very comfortable with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms; and everything was very clean and fresh. The location in Gasquet is perfect for exploring the Smith River National Recreation Area with its many interesting botanical preserves, and it's a very short drive to the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park with many magical trails to explore, or to Crescent City and the Tolowa Dunes State Park area with its gorgeous beaches. We even went out on an ocean fishing expedition one day and came back with a fine halibut (thanks for the recommendation, Marian!) This would be a fine spot to stay for the excellent salmon fishing on the Smith River during fishing season, but it's a great spot for a couple of wandering botanists! Next time we'll try and come a little earlier in the year to catch the spring bloom...we'll definitely be back!

Absolutely loved our time here. Dog friendly, views of the river from inside and out on deck. Dogs and we loved floating on the river. Welcoming casual layout, which we wanted for our dog and outdoor activies. Quiet calm neoghborhood to walk dogs, neighbors all very friendly. Owner across atreet was wonderful. Not for seniors with disabilities. Were looking forwarrd to. It was sweltering in s i being on the lake not above it with too steep a desent for us to walk it. Steps upto the house were not for us either. It was way hot 102 and we had been asked not to use air conditioner much. It was sweltering inside so we did use the air unit although it wasnt sufficient for the whole house. Kitchen was well stocked. Hair dryer would have been handy. All in all if we were physically more abled it would be a nice retreat but not when its hot. We came to enjoy some fishing from the yard but never put a hook in the water. TV controller hard to understand. It just wasnt what we expected.

A slice of heaven

This is a truly special place located right on the Smith River. This home welcomes and embraces you when you walk in. The home itself is cozy & filled with character and has EVERYTHING you could possibly need. The main living area is SO comfortable, with a large TV, if you can pull yourself away from looking at the Smith River through the expanse of windows allowing you great views (not to mention the peaceful sound of the river). A large comfortable back deck provides an even better view of the river and a great place to enjoy coffee and take it all in. Bedding is almost too comfortable. Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park is just down the road and is a magical place. Walking among these majestic, ancient trees leaves you in awe (and feeling a bit small and humble). This place definitely seeps into your soul, leaving you with a sense of calm, peace and serenity. And last, but definitely not least, Marian is a true delight. We had a problem with our e-mail before we arrived and she made sure we had everything we needed to get there and met us when we arrived. We really enjoyed meeting and talking with her and she was so helpful making sure our stay was wonderful. This is a place to make very special memories, which we definitely did. Hardest thing was leaving - we drove across the country from the east coast to get here, thinking it would be a one time trip, but after our stay here, we can't wait to come back!!! Thank you, Marian, for sharing your wonderful home!

The owners of BMH live out of the area. They rented BMH many times through the years, and when it went up for sale, they bought it! That way, when they want to come up and fish, its here for them!

We bought the house across the street in 2014, just moving here from Crescent City. It just made sense to manage BMH for the guys, so close, can keep an eye out for them when they're not here! My husband and I are retired, absolutely in love with Gasquet! It's quiet, wonderful warm summers, and of course, the north fork of the Smith River! There is no river as beautiful as the Smith! You can count the rocks on the bottom in the summer, watch the shades of green change, day to day, in the winter!

This is not like a lot of California. We have the ocean, the giant redwoods, the cleanest and clearest river in the U.S., the Smith of course. Our county of Del Norte has only 25,000 people and no polution.
