Scenic Period Building mit Meerblick

We were very pleased to host Richard and Rita who came across as charming. We are, indeed, secluded here on the coast and this is what most visitors seek and value. We can install a night light but there is already a nearby downstairs lamp available which casts a soft light through the night. The house dates from the 1750's when ensuite bathrooms (or bathrooms at all) were unheard of! It is all of 30 seconds to the bathroom - albeit downstairs. We are sorry that Richard and Rita were overcharged somewhere on currency exchange and would have happy to help and advise if asked. It is hard to anticipate quite how warm guests like their accommodation. The radiators were all on but, immediately upon request, we were happy instantly to up the temperature to Saharan level. At Richard's request we had, prior to their arrival, made 2 round trips to a florist to select and order (to his budget and colours) and then to collect and pay (we were duly reimbursed) for a large flower arrangement for Rita's birthday which we placed in the accomodation with a vase for their arrival. We trust that they appreciated this effort but a word in their review would have been generous. As a footnote, Richard and Rita clearly felt confident enough on the stairs (!) and with the value to request a stayover for another night. We were truly sorry not to be able to help due to impending arrival of other guests.

We appreciated the visit from Sharon and Tony. Their observation of ladybirds is correct. At the time the entire south coast was enduring an infestation of ladybirds of Biblical proportions - unique in the 20 years we have lived here. As recognized by Sharon, we did all we could to respond to this invasion. Seperately we often recieve praise for the fully equipped kitchen. And, again, seldom do reviews comment on offered accommodation being too big rather than too small but there is not much we can do about that.
