A beautiful area! Very rustic and homey! Mathew was easy to communicate with and was very accommodating!
This is the most adorable and cozy cabin. We love our stay, wish we could have stayed longer.
This is a great place to stay to get away from the city and mod cons. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sun go down and cooking on the bbq. It is easy to get to from Saratoga springs and not far from a grocery store
Our family stayed one night (2 adults, 4 kids) and absolutely loved it. The pictures and description provided by the owner are a very fair representation of the cabin and site. There is a loft where our three boys slept, a futon where our daughter slept and full size bed for us. Its a one room cabin so make sure everyone is comfortable living together.
The view was incredible, it was quiet and comfortable. There is a nice outdoor fire pit with plenty of firewood with a grill for cooking and a dutch oven. There is also a propane stove. There is a sink with a hand pump hooked up to jugs of water for washing hands and dishes but its quite labor intensive. I would suggest bringing bottled water or a 5 gallon igloo if you are going to stay for a few days as the pump works but its kind of time consuming and you don't get much water for your efforts. There is no refrigerator but the night air was cool enough to keep our food safe for one night but you may want to consider a cooler and ice for an extended stay or during warmer times. There is a shower outhouse which uses buckets of water that are not heated. It is gravity fed so you only get as much water pressure as 5 gallons of water will provide. I enjoyed a cool refreshing shower and it worked great.
My only regret was being more prepared on food. We showed up thinking we would check it out and then run into town for food. Well, town is about 25 minutes away and I wish I would've picked up food before I got there because it took over an hour to drive to the nearest grocery store, shop and return. We ended up grilling chicken on the open fire, cooking potatoes and sausage in the dutch oven, then using the leftovers combined with eggs for breakfast the next morning. There are a few dishes, utensils and basic ingredients but you should be prepared for any additional tools or ingredients you might need. For instance we didn't bring any oil but needed some for the dutch oven. There was about a tablespoon left in the bottle so we went down to the owner's house and borrowed some more. But just know that there is not a lot of supplies at the cabin.
The propane lights in the cabin don't work so the owner has one propane lantern and one battery powered lantern. Its not much light but wasn't a big deal for us but if you want to read you might want to bring your own flashlight or headlamp.
All in all a great stay and would highly recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful, relaxing, rustic stay.
If you read the description and know exactly what you are getting, then this cabin is great. We rented it for a few friends to have a bbq and spend the evening in. It was great. The cabin was warm and everything we needed for the night was provided by the owners except for food and drink. All this is said in the description, so if these don't bother you, then you will have a wonderful stay like I did.
